But outside of that, I've got to admit I find it a bit insulting that you seem to think I wasn't aware of the fact that he wasn't talking to me.
Since you had to remove it, I'd kind of hope you knew it wasn't addressed to you, but you never know around here ;) Anyway, that was more for everyone else's benefit than yours, as when they espied your comment, the obvious presumption is that you are quoting wasted for the simple reason that he's addressing you.
And "editing out" that part of his comment where he quoted iFulp... well, I always thought that excessive (unnecessary) quoting was frowned upon on the NG BBS. I hope you're not trying to imply that there was a more sinister purpose to deleting that part...
Unnecessary yes, it just makes for way too much scrolling ... or punching of the page down button. In this instance you are weighing into an argument between two other people and a fourth party (/me *waves*) wandering in to read the thread may not make the time to go back and read the original post as you are already quoting them.
Heh. I actually went back and read a bit of that thread that Afro/absent/ppink/wtfishisnamenow linked. Kind of amusing that it wasn't gfox who popped in with the answer ^^

so how many years do I need to wait until I drop off the top 50?
About three at the present rate. I'm 10k back so maybe a year to 18 months for me.

I hope I get high in B/P like that one day.
Just stick with it. Most people, myself included, lose motivation, get sidetracked, etc. and either slow down or stop entirely. Makes it kind of easy to catch up to or pass someone when they aren't moving. 100/day is well within reach, 50/day even if you are working or going to school. Even at the latter, slower pace, you could reach the current #300 within 6 months, 2-3 months at the higher pace. The "current" #300 in 6 months (or 3) will obvious be higher than it is now, but you should be well within reach by then.

I used to be ranked 49 at one point, but I slowed down...it just got old...so now I go at my own pace...I should be reaching the Final Level of Blam!/Protect points today actually...
29991 at present. Go, go, go =)

Having a star pace or getting a star what is better?
Getting a star, that way it can be stuck next to my name on the wall chart to show that I've been good.
I would argee, but I will never get a star pace, not even over 100 per day unless clock day was it but that wasn't record so it doesn't count.
Yeah. The problem with those "flash in the pan" bits is that they are just one day, and typically there is a slow down just prior as people withhold a submission for XXX Day. Usually just afterwards as well, as people haven't been making stuff in the down time. Clock day is in August, so there's usually 200+ even during the dips, making it one of the better weeks to have a go for star pace.
