(Yea, we live in the same host-family near Durham, NC.) What fraustrated me was that the portal suddenly became extremly active after she got started. But since my love to her is much more than my desire of gaining b/p points, I calmed down quickly. Nevertheless, because of all those events, my rank up will probably happen in 2006.

And SK's NGTL came out just after midnight on Saturday nights, though his was technically a "Sunday data" update since that's when his data mining started.

Today... I should be getting the list ready long before midnight. I hope so, at least, I don't want my New Year's Day celebrations with my girlfriend to be interrupted by the silly ol' pentalist. (wink)

Thanks for updating the list for so long, absent. Good luck to TITROTU with future updates (I see that the Christmas weekend update was a bit tougher than expected beforehand). The only tip I can give you is to use excel to add the blams and saves, don't do it separately or manually. Pop those blam and save numbers into their slots and let excel do the rest of the work.

The majority of the info came from the EGRL which was made through data miner programs that could go through all the profiles on newgrounds to find people ranked high in b/p, amoung other stats as well. The data miner was made by shittykitty who has a website here, where you can find more info. But the lists were shut down by Wade here who claimed that the program was causing various errors and problems with newgrounds. Since the lists are outdated by a few months, finding the majority of users on the list isn't hard, but those who have been recently gaining points are harder to find. I searched through the LUL to see if anyone was close to the list, while others were found by luck or they simply came in and said hi.

I just wanted to add that the EGRL was made many many many dozens of times before the data miner was ever invented. Dogma had 1000+ users listed on the EGRL back in 2003-2004 before August 2004 and SK's NG Lister came along.

The profiles for those early manual lists were found the same way that profiles for my saves, blams, VP, quadlist were found... and for ramagi's exp list, jonthomson's review list, and so on and so forth:

Finding people on the BBS, finding people on official NG stat listings, finding people from the 50 most recent deposits list.

That's about it. Those three methods were the foundation of all unofficial NG listmakery in the days before the NG Lister, and they remain the foundation in these days AFTER the NG Lister. During the NG Lister, they were still useful, since only SK did the whole 1,000,000+ userID profile search stuff. I just added stuff he gave me and stuff from his top 1000+ VP list and also found people through the old fashioned method as well. That era lasted between August 2004 and March 2005. Before 08/2004 (back to the early 2003 list era and through June 2003 when this topic/list began) and after 03/2005 (to 2006 and beyond), the manual methods were king and are king and will be kind. Until the NG Lister doth rise again, all Jesus-like. We can hope.

I'm a customer service rep in a fortune 500 company that provides services to companies that prefer service 24/7, and we are closed on Sundays and circulate who comes in on Saturday mornings, so... Monday mornings are naturally the time when most customers are the most impatient due to already having waited longer if they needed service since Friday night or Saturday morning or afternoon or whenever... that, and Fridays when they get told they will be serviced on Monday morning, not that same day or Saturday. ;_;

In short, at my job... Mondays and Fridays = the days with the most potential to be hellish. Tuesdays = super slow and easy. Wednesdays and Thursday = average.

Do the people in Sydney give shit to the people in Perth just because Perth is a bit to the west? My 10k list isn't the thing that started the Saturdays thing. I'm pretty sure it was my VP list. Or Dogma's list at one point, which I believe was Wednesday mini updates and Saturday full updates.

I just know that my top 50 lists weren't on any particular day of the week. They could be any day... but my VP list and eventually my 10k list started to be on weekends. At first the quadlist could be on any day of the week, though, so it defintely wasn't quad/10k/penta/whateveryawannacallit that started the Saturday trend in my own listings. Once my VP list was standardised to every single Saturday updates, then I put pentalist on every other Saturday to be easy to update on a 14 day schedule.
