That's how I mentioned rankups on both the top 50 blams and top 50 saves, and of course... Dogma did that as well, but in a slightly different way (didn't keep track of what # of that rank they were when they ranked up, and the rankups were also shown in the list itself whereas I didn't do that).

Or just italicize the aliases since people would rather see who's inactive and their relative position.

... you were actually already back at #120 before the update was posted. By 4 b/p. NG profile rank updating time being 4:35 AM ET is what cost you that on the update, that's all.

Things like that are why, if I ever had updated this list, I would have manually made the ranks based on b/p at the time of my stat pull instead of ranking the list by the 4:35 AM ET rank numbers. But that adds a looooooot of work to making the list, I'm sure. Still, easier to do for a top 300 than it would have been for Dogma's top 1500ish list. #;-}>

The reason I chose +40 is because during this update I counted 39 people in total that broke the 40/day mark. Which is a pretty small percent, and it could be used for tracking those who are still gaining at a decent rate, but haven't actually pushed themselves to go over 80/day. It just so happens most of the people who go over the 40 a day mark are in the top 50. I'll see what it looks like.

I actually have started to learn how to use this crazy program called excel, and I could manage the list by amount to b/p points during the pulling easily! I'd still have to tweak the amount of ranks gaining but it could work. It might not help show the exact gaps of the missing users though.

Only 39 people, eh? The rates have been a bit down the past few weeks, though (just speaking from how low the rates have been on the pentalist, but I think they're all connected, since b/p is the main stat on the pentalist that people gain quickly).

Even if it balloons upwards to where it used to be in the good ol' days (60-80 people with over 40 a day)... that still isn't an insane amount of 300 spots on the list, no.

But as both you and I said, the problem is that a large amount of them are in or near the top 50. I guess I would just say that as long as it doesn't look like 50%+ of the top 50 is bold, then there's not too many people being bolded.

You could always make it 50+ instead of 40+ to trim it just a bit, too, if you don't want to trim all the way to 80+.

Yay! I hope you will consider it, if it doesn't add any work to the list. I can assure you that i you stick the ____s in there on my line of the list, you'll never need to change them back to numbers.

Same probably goes for fixit and a few others. Dogma, for one.

But there are indeed SOME inactives who are only inactive for a few weeks, and then they'll be getting a few points again, so... it's up to you.

You could probably rig an "IF" formula in Excel to display ____ instead of the gain if the gain is 0, though. "if cellA - cell B = 0, then display ____" basically, "else display cellA - cellB" for gain. Similar thing for rate.

Yeah... an inactive person in the 40-50 range is going to be a bit easier to pass than an inactive person in the top 10.

But it's almost always the case that ANY user (active OR inactive) is going to be easier to pass in that 40-50 range than someone in the top 10, anyway. It's more about how large the gaps are between users than whether someone is totally still or moving.

Now, that doesn't apply in the case of crazy 100+ b/p per day peoples, of course. Those are hard to catch no matter whether they're ranked #1 or #100.

The missing user gaps is the problem, yes.

When it comes to the pentalist or the VP list or the saves or blams lists (the four lists I've made in my 2.5 year old list-making career), there are no gaps because you don't know if you're missing someone. It's simple.

But yeah, since b/p and exp rankings are in our profiles, people making b/p or exp lists can see that they're missing people if they are indeed missing people.

My solution to that? Use the ranks in the profiles to START the ranking process, but after you've gotten all the b/p data for all the people in the top 300 that you have the profiles of... THEN use the b/p data itself to sort the list a second time and establish more true and current b/p rankings. That's the part where extra work comes in, alas. And you have to make sure the gaps remain where they need to remain, that's all.

Yeah, I noticed that person too when I as monitoring my progress on breaking the list, I believe they overtook me during my slight inactivity last week, but then I soon took back my place, I just hope that whoever that is doesn't B/P too fast, I don't want to have to worry about users from behind, my aims to shoot up this list as fast as possible, I don't want no threats.

I'm just please I decided to start B/Ping, I remember a few years back, when the B/P system was first introduced, I didn't care too much about my rank, I just thought, meh, I'll get past Citizen and then I'll just leave it, I just don't want to be the bottom rank.

Then when I finally got the internet again and could re-access Newgrounds, I instantly got back to my reviewing(I was an original top reviewer) and just stuck at that not bothering with anything else.

Then I had some crappy internet where I had a small limit for monthly downloads, so I could only watch the smaller movies, which didn't get me too many points.

Eventually I decided to use B/P as one of my main stats and I also got Unlimited Broadband, that allowed me to download all, so I could get a lot of B/P points because of it.

I agree, but at least people who post in between get taken care of, so either way, it's no big deal. =)

Just beacuse it's easier to pass them than the active users, doesn't mean it'll be easy at all. Well, maybe amongst those in my range, but when i get below 200, it'll get tricky.

I'll be moving it to Saturday for now, but if I don't like it on that day I'll move it back.

Anyways, I ended up with bolding people getting over 50/day, and even though it gets a bit clumped in places, overall it works for the best. Also, taking gfox's advice, I scrapped the 0s next to names, so if someone didn't move, there won't be anything next to their name. I'll be making an inactive users list when I get around to it, seeing how there is much work load upon me right now, but it should all go away once we make it to the winter break :) I'm also sticking with the new list style, like it or not, because it makes it much easier for me to do the update.
