I see this thread has not seen much action lately, and I am sorry to have to bring some bad news. I may have to bow out of this collab as it currently stands.
I am trying to put together an animation "reel" of sorts (this is a sort of long-term goal) and I have been advised against using animation with copyrighted characters that I am not officially involved with. it will take a lot of time for me to make a high-quality animation that does justice to a good, existing anime series (for my part, I chose "Ergo Proxy"). however, if I can't use that animation later on in a reel, it seems like I would do better to use that time for something else. I just have too many things on my plate, right now.
however, if Ashed and the others running this collab think it's ok, I would be very willing to make a part for the collab in anime style with made-up characters and a lot of "eye-candy" animation. however, I would totally understand if you guys do not agree to this proposal on the basis that made-up characters are not what this collab is about.
if that is the case, I am sorry, but I think I will have to leave this collab. again, I apologize for any inconvenience. whatever you decide, I wish you all the best of luck in completing this collab. it seems that progress has been slow, so far, but I'm sure it will turn out great.
How close to the end is your part? If very close, you should stay in.

thanks a lot, Ashed. I've actually been thinking it over a bit. the reason I thought I would quit the collab was people were telling me about that whole thing with using copyrighted characters in a reel and that kind of threw me for a bit. but you know, I joined this collab to practice my animation skills and have fun, so I think I might just stick with it.
I do have a lot of other things going on in my life, though, so it's going to take me a while. but I guess this was meant to be a long-term project from the beginning. it might be more encouraging if there was a little more going on in this thread. what happened to everyone else? only about 4 people have posted in several weeks time.

oh yea ppl aint postin and shit but christ man just stick to one thing at a time dont join one collab if ur not done or almost done with the other one your in. ive stopped work on my personal series so i can do this collab (for certain reasons u guys should or will get it later) but i stopped mine to do this stick to one thing and dont join others, i mean no trouble and no fightin just some advice, things like ill work on the shit later (wat im doing now since school) are the kinda things that are making this collab go downhill

onless you can work as fast as i can...i was in 3 collabs (1 died) and got them done.

Hi guys, I have something to say(please read of your Ashed)
1. My computers been really fucked up(virus, hacker, idk), and my internet connection was disconnected for some reason. After about half a month I called up a technician to fix the connection but the computer was still high on crack. So after another few weeks I had it sent to a computer repair store, and they had just sent it back after another week.
2. Because of #1 the .swf and .fla files for my part in this collaboration has been totally wiped clean, i think, unless i backed it up. But im sure that the Flash CS2 and 3 had been wiped clean (from SWIMs computer) (SWIM is currently looking for a torrent file with flash to download all over again)
So there it is, if its too late you can kick me off, but let me now asap.

i believe he is true, pushing this collab, which alot of people have expectations about, aside to squeeze in time for other work, justs distributes the focus and commitment. Its best for the entire collab if you put 100% of your flash knowhow and animation expertise into it.
But hell, thats just me.

another alternative is to just do all your work zoomed in. that's what I usually do. basic key-frames and such I do at normal size to get the layout right, then inking, adding details, etc. I do zoomed in 150%-200% or more. it usually looks really bad when I'm working on it, but then I zoom out and amazingly all the little blemishes are much less noticeable. and of course the brush tool lines "seem" smaller. anyway, same idea as what you're trying to do, just a different way to go about it.
