Yeah. I was going to make a thread about it earlier today, but never got around to it.
As long as the same thing doesn't happen to NG, I'll be happy.

Perhaps you should look again. I'm actually working hard towards adapting Retrogade to fit the new host, and it's not an easy task. Or perhaps you didn't bother searching the Newgrounds BBS for this jewel?
Its normally because of lack of user interest.
Less viewers > Less viewed advertisement > Less income to maintain the server
At least thats how I see it.

maybe you should come back and help it climb back up then.

But yea, I would come back, but I'm not liking the template right now. Maybe when the new template comes on, I might be active.

My exact thoughts when I read that bit.
Like his 9600 exp means anything more in the greater scheme of things than anyone's exp count on RG does.
The only thing more impressive about exp on NG than on RG is that it can be higher because the site's been around. And that your ranking is higher proportionately because there's so many more damned users.
But neither of those is worth saying that exp on NG somehow "matters" yet doesn't on RG.
The fact is, it's fun to get exp on both sites.

Not to mention the topic shouldn't be dead since RG is still down, so it's still a current event... from Wednesday 4/04 to Monday 4/16.... how long will this last, I wonder.

I think Retrogade would have succeeded if it was more art orientated than Photoshop. I enjoyed looking at the artwork of users like ScaryDeadGirl. But, looking at Photoshopped pictures of crappy spirals and twists and snazzy effects lost it's appeal completely.
I also got tired of the community after some of the better users stopped coming around as much. I have nothing against Retrogade, I respect ShittyKitty for continuing to try and better his website. He gets a lot of shit from people who bash his website when the guy works hard to maintain it, and he also has a friendly nature. I don't really see why people want to insult that. It's not as if he is trying to "rip off" Newgrounds. It's obvious he is a fan of NG. This isn't some Armored Games incident.
I've been refurbished and reissued, prepackaged and precooked, decontaminated and deloused, but I still smell, sound, look and feel like shit.

I wouldn't be so quick to say that.

RG has always had a good mix of both. One word for you:
armbar
Need I say more? armbar's art is still on RG, too. The only REAL problem with the RG portal is that so many good artists have removed their art from it while all the shitty (but funny... mostly) photoshops were left on.
THAT's the reason for the imbalance, man.

RG was way more like NG in style and design back when Josh Bend was the primary admin.
SK, if anything, has shifted the focus away from being like NG.
He's introduced a ton of stuff NG never had (a casino with lotteries, roulette, and blackjack), expansion of what the money system can do beyond just that, etc. etc.
