That's what I'd do if I were him. :/ There's no excuse for this idiocy. I would think if someone either A) is with the SS and links to the virus here or B) posts a link to it not knowing what it does, they're breaking rules with malicious links, and would get banned anyway. :/

hell no...I just mananged to get infested *ashamed*.....But i never had the idea of Right-clicking and pressing edit to see what it does. I still have some side effects and finding out how they were made might be the key to their removal

Well, speaking for myself, I need one because I'm an idiot who can't keep a .fla on his hard drive for more than a fortnight without deleting it, then ends up wanting to change something and cries.
I had a look at this myself just became I'm the curious type and I have to say that I'm amazed how easy it is to "hack" if you can just get somebody to run your file. Also, for almost all visual changes (desktop, boot up screen, etc) that are made it creates a back ups of your originals in 'DefualtDrive:\\UserName\backup\' where DefualtDrive is probably C:\\ and UserName is what appears on the XP log in screen.
The "antidote" that is available on the SS website via the link on the previous page will fix the following things:
Wallpaper
Startup Sound
Shutdown Soun
The goofy SS is 1337 message that appears several times a day
I didn't actually install the virus so I don't know what else it may do that doesn't get fixed. If people let me know specifically what things don't get fixed I might be able to add to the antidote later.
Lets hope the SS doesn't notice this thread. Thank god they never come on the forums.

You guys have to understand that not all of the SS was involved and a lot of SS members don't like the way it has been headed lately. They are more into making themselves notorious and into bigger things than harrassing newgrounds. A lot of SS users are leaving because the SS doesn't do any flash any more.
This virus was all of goldencat's doings, not rtil or zekeyspaceylizard or any of them.

Man thats evil, still, if you've got a good virus scanner it should detect it right? Or is this a way out of virus detection? Either way I just use my friend who is a hacker to decompile anything for me, (Triforce Keep Up, long story short I was "cleaning" my flash folder of old flash that never ever would get finished). Hes a good kind of hacker (I suppose...) as in he doesn't do it to harm a pc but more so take software for himself and well change it a bit...

I'm not sure whats the problem with them. If they leave offensive reviews, they'll get deleted. If they harass you thorough PMs, put them on your block list. If they hack(or password steal or whatever) you, you can get your account back. But it could get really annoying, like what happened to Cybex where all of his accounts and his site was hacked and stolen. Just get a good virus protector to prevent this. And don't fall for their tricks like the fake decompiler either. As I have said before, think one step ahead of the SS. Ignore them and they'll stop bothering you.

I just have to say that about a week ago I was working on a game. It was working completely fine that evening. Then the next morning I changed one or two things without paying close attention, and the game was completely borked. Unfortunately, I had already saved this borked copy, and I had no way to fix it. The only thing I had was a working version in .swf format. I looked around on the web and found the SoThink decompiler. I gave it a shot, and it successfully converted my .swf back to a .fla, and as a bonus it had formatted my code and inserted comments declaring when functions and if statements started/ended. So I was pretty happy. And no, I'm not a shill. I've been on this board since November and have worked on the Christmas Collab as well as answering people's AS questions.

yup, i got that decompialer cuz someone in the forum said its good and free, i needed it to get my .fla from my game on newgrounds called "escape from meat co." i install it, and fuck, im no longer the admin, i have no control panal, there 300 stupid swf. files on my desktop, it wont let me go to NG and blocks all anti virus/system restore from opening.
i had to reformat and install linux
they also stoly my fucking account "blo-hazard" wich was a lv 9, 1100+posts, and since they messed up my xp, my sniper game iv been working on for 3 weeks is gone forever, fuck the SS
