Totally. All my recent games had full AP soundtracks :P It's great when you know what to look for, or you get a tip off from Luis...

There are also many Audio Portal artists who would love to soundtrack a project. It's flattering to get a Flash developer to ask you to make music, and many artists on the Audio Portal are extremely talented. it never hurts to ask!
Hi there!

Unless they spend alot of time making a really bad track and you have to use it or you'll insult them =/
Like I said earlier, I could use an Action Scripter with an idea.
ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ
abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz
I want to know if there is some kind of age restriction on this.
the W9 thing makes me think...
I'd like to know if I can make a customised Armor Games introduction animation. One that still utilises the name (and still advertises the site and contest), but 'fits in' with the style of the game.
As for the game itself, here's what I have so far. ParagonX9 made the BGM "VG Pride"... sound effects came from Dynamite Headdy.

If you ask permission it'll probly work, you'd have to contact armorgames people though...
what i meant was I'm not responsible for telling the rules of the contest, armorgames people are.
Good, good, I've been waiting for this for some time. $8,000 that's a lot of cash. I'm excited! Look out for my demo in a couple weelks(I had a head start on this)!
what happens if my game dosen't have a 'game over'
screen?
I'm making a fighting game where there is a storyline
and a 1p/2p versus mode and there is no
'game over' screen per-se.
what do I do in that case?

Then you can't participate or Pandaman will EAT you!! >:(
Seriously though, include the link somewhere else? Simple enough.

You go to the nearest corner of the room and cry. If you're in the very center of the room, pick the corner that looks the most emo. If they're all as emo, pick one randomly. If your randomness is bugged, just stay where you are.
Then after 3 months you can get out of the corner and watch the AG contest results.

Substitute. If you don't have a game over screen, then that means you are missing a play more games button that you should have. So find a place to put an extra, maybe in the right click menu, like I do. Or, somwhere else in the game. Maybe Armor Games brand your game, by putting "Armor Games" graffiti in the background somewhere, or creative AG posters on a brick wall or something.
Putting the link in the Game Over isn't that much of a main concern, seeing as how if your game truly isn't that addicting, most people won't even see the Game Over. You just want to do enough so that people will check out Armor Games.

You're right. We should overthrow our economy so that $8000 will make us millionaires in Britland! Britishmoose, meet me outside the bank of England at midnight tonight. You bring plastic explosives and weapons, i'll bring tea and crumpets. K?
And here was me thinking the contest wasnt recieving any publicity and I might stand a chance of winning :(

it's not a "addicting game" as much as it is just a classic arcade style fighter, which is why I'm gonna contact AG about the game over screen thing.

Too true, I always ask around the Audio BBS for people who think they can make good stuff for my games, and the stuff they come up with is incredible!
If you look at ImperfectDisciple's profile, you'll see what I mean, he's gonna be making music for almost all my future games :).
I find that if you just ask on the Audio BBS, you will recieve (and it'll suit perfectly!)

it's not a simple game that is 'addicting'
it is a full version arcade style
(read: street fighter)
fighting game.
makes perfect sense.
I'm going to contact Armor Games because there won't be a Game Over screen that people would access a link from.
it would be a short timed screen that just says, you loose.
Anybody wanna team up in small two or three person creation?

not have a game over screen? I fail to see the problem :P

no age restriction, you just have to fill the form or have a legal guardian take care of it for you.
and yes, you may make your own intro/logos/preloader

You're using light colors so well outlines seem smoother.
1 question -
if you get a game sponsored, can you enter it into the competion as well, or do you have to choose wheather you want the competion or the sponsorship money?

That's kinda obvious. When you first make the game you either choose sponsorship or contest. Make your choice, you can't have both.
