When Dave Scherer @ 1wrestling.com reported the story about Michael Hayes and Smackdown's creative team Wednesday, quite a few people thought the post was a rib. Fresh off of Monday night's "rib" with the Cena/Orton fight, many thought this story seemed a bit far fetched. I can tell you all that the story is 100% true. If you haven't heard what happened, here's a brief synopsis.

Tuesday, there was confltct amongst the Smackdown writers and Michael Hayes, over the finish of tonight's Smackdown main event (John Cena & Chris Benoit vs Big Show & Brock Lesnar). Basically, Michael Hayes was pushing for a finish of John Cena hitting an FU on Chris Benoit after their victory over Big Show & Lesnar. Hayes' idea was that Cena is not a complete "Babyface" as of now. And since he feuded with Angle in recent weeks, Cena hitting his partner with an FU would give the feeling Cena couldn't be trusted going into the PPV. He also felt that Cena could get over similar to Austin back in 1999, when he would Stun faces and heels. Although it's not that bad of an idea, the problem was, he was the only one who was behind actually doing it.

The talent involved in the Survivor Series match thought it was a bad idea for Cena to do the FU, feeling it would confuse the fans and hurt Benoit as Scherer reported. The creative team as well agreed. When the issue appeared to be settled and agreed the move wouldn't happen, Michael Hayes went to Vince McMahon later in the day with the idea. Of course Vince has the last say in everything. The problem is, that Hayes gave Vince the impression that the entrie creative team was behind the idea. Vince allowed the angle to happen, and Cena hit the FU on Benoit.

The crowd apparantly did not react the way Hayes expected, and hence controversy. Well, I just received early word that the Cena hitting the FU on Benoit has been edited out of tonight's broadcast, as Scherer predicted.

More on this story in the upcoming days. Something tells me that this may lead to something changing in the creative department of WWE.

I feel that was a good move, editing that segment off from the SD taping that is. Although they should have just had a thing where Cena and Benoit get 'nose to nose' and maybe push each other a bit. That would have gotten the desired effect without going overboard.

Mike Hayes is really pissing people off. This is the second time in recent weeks that he has made an ass out of himself. The first time was when he tried to sing at HHH/Steph's wedding. He really could have screwed up things..but the kicker is thet all the writers and wrestlers were against it, but he went to Vince who liked it..Both are to blame.

In some WWE news Bubba is not to happy with the way Mark is being pushed. Mark has never been really over either way with the crowd and many of his matches just suck. Bubba is a pro though, and is working through the fued as best possible.

Any thought on this guys?

The ironic thing about Mark Henry is that he was fired not long ago because he sucked in the ring and now all of a sudden he gets this big push even though his wrestling skills are actually worse.

I actually hated this weeks Smackdown. I mean I turn my T.V. to Fox 9 at 7:00 and what do I see? Some weird ass movie. So I went online to check out Smackdown's stats, and it said "Minneapolis Fans, Smackdown will be on at 11:00 p.m." so I went to bed early, set my alarm at 11:00 p.m. and thought "I am good". I woke up at 2:00 a.m. though and found out I set my alarm for...11:00 a.m., so I totally missed Smackdown. That's why I hated this weeks Smackdown.

Actually he was not fired. They sent him to OVW to lose weight..Then he entered the a strong man contest (The one they showed clips on Smackdown when he came back) which basicly got him all teh weight he lost back. i've always disliked him..He sucked from day one and to think WWE wanted to push him over Austin way back when.

In toronto I watch smackdown on a sports channel called the score at 7:00pm. Anyway, It sucks to hear that you missed smackdown.

lord kooler i just wanted to point out that for one reason or another u excluded the segment about vince soiling himself from ur review......i was upset because that was the best part of smackdown i mean who needs wrestling when u can hear about a grown man crapping himself......(sarcasm obvious)

Breaking News Kurt Angle needs surgery once again but he is still scheduled to wrestle at Survivor Series. My predictions are: Team Angle wins with either Benoit or Cena getting the pin.Vince will beat Taker.HHH will beat Goldberg.Kane beats Shane.And I think Austin's team is going to lose.

Team angle vs. team lesnar--I'm gonna have to go with Team Angle..Tey don't have that hairy lump a-train.
