Tonight's RAW was the first time I stopped watching out of boredom. I wanted Big Show to have a longer match. :(

Oh, and the whole Cena breaking Master Lock is cleared up. Cena didn't break the Master Lock, nor did he block it. Masters threw him down to the mat.

Response to The Wrestling (WWE) Club 2005-12-20 00:36:12

At least the main event at the tribute to the troops was kinda cool. HHH vs HBK, in a no holds barred... But the freakin ref held HBK back at one point... Wtf! I mean, its a NO HOLDS BARRED (it was called a boot camp match, but essentially the same thing) match..... But again, it was still entertaining

Give Tim White a shit load of credit. That man is a good fucking soldier to play such an absolutely insane angle. Suicide is never an acceptable topic as cannon fodder for a wrestling storyline, especially with how horrible the creative end of the company is right now. Not to mention the fact that WWE had a legitimate death happen last month with Eddie Guerrero, and it's just completely baffling to me they would try having something like this on television. Vince and creative have no fucking clue at this point what's cutting edge, and pushing boundaries in a way that changes the standards (like what ECW did in the 90's, and then WWE copied and took to the mainstream) and what is just classless, over the line bullshit (basically every angle they try to do as cutting edge).

Also, wtf is up with letting Taker win? Orton is supposed to be getting built to be a top guy...one can only hope there's a larger plan here. But I fucking doubt it.

TNA had a slam dunk show this weekend, I think they're really beginning to figure out how to maximize their one hour of time each week, as I think they did a great job of having some great matches, and also pushed some character development. If TNA wants to try and convince Spike TV to get behind them more, and give them some more time, they need to show Spike that they can squeeze every bit out of whatever amount of time they're given, and that they can get more with a bigger time investment. Big kudos to TNA for the show this weekend, and I'm looking forward to seeing if this is a trend for them.

I plan on teaching 2-5 grade. the small stuff before the kids get to old and start bringing guns and knives. So i missed raw last night but like I said I did not care. I don't care if they are over their. I mean don't get me wrong I have friends fighting over their but it was a BS war and should not have happened but that is for another fourm on this site. I have lost all faith in WWE because they can't deliver anymore. it's all about old fucks in wrestling, a wigger who can never lose, and a cross brand promotion that sucks oh so hard.
I mean TNA is good but they are making a huge mistake by hiring more WWE stars. let's face it in the begining it was people like, monty brown, AJ styles, Christopher Danails, Jeff Jarret, Samoa Joe, The canadian Destroyer Petey Williams. it was people like this that made TNA the show that it is today, by TNA gettig more WWE stars they are taking pampered bitches and trying to turn them hardcord and sometimes that does not work. soon it will be a war with TNA people and former WWE people and that could lead to a crumbling within the company. you can not shine the light on new people and cast your main stars to the side.
Well that is ryo's morning two cents. you gusy have a great day and I will talk some more later on. best of luck to everyone I know finals are this week so hopefully you all do your best and happy holidays.

Coming off of another 1-day ban is...

-Mitsubishi- Raw "Tribute To The Troops" Recap

This week, Monday Night RAW emanated from Bagram Air Base in Afghanistan as RAW presented a special Tribute to the Troops. Throughout the night, videos were shown of the WWE Superstars’ visit to the Middle East, highlighting their visits to several operating bases and military camps.

To begin the show, Mr. McMahon came out and addressed the Armed Forces in the crowd. Mr. McMahon said that RAW would spread a little holiday cheer, and even Santa Claus would make an appearance. Mr. McMahon said that RAW would tell the stories of the troops that seem to have been forgotten, because they are true stories with happy endings. He then brought out Lilian Garcia, who sang a stirring and emotional rendition of The Star-Spangled Banner.

Santa Claus did in fact make an appearance, as Coach brought out a Santa Claus dressed in camouflage fatigues. “Santa” said that if Afghanistan were any better, it would suck, and he wished the troops a rotten Christmas. Another Santa Claus then came out, this one much jollier than his predecessor. Coach wondered which the impostor was, and the new Santa suggested a “No Ho-Ho-Holds Barred Match” to determine the impostor.

The match began, and the Santas were quickly revealed as Mick Foley and JBL. After using anything and everything to subdue JBL, including his bag of toys, Foley hit the Double-Arm DDT. He then brought out Mr. Socko, applied the Mandible Claw to JBL, and got the victory.

The Divas also helped the troops get in the Holiday spirit, as Trish Stratus & Ashley took on Candice Michelle & Maria. During the match, Candice spent nearly as much time crowd surfing with the troops than she did in the ring, but in the end it would not matter. After nearly securing the victory for her team, Ashley got caught in the corner, and Candice grabbed her in a roll-up. Candice grabbed a handful of Ashley’s Santa suit tights, and was able to hold her down for the pin.

In the main event, Shawn Michaels took on Triple H in a Boot Camp Match. The rules were simple: there were none. HBK worked Triple H’s arm early in the bout, but The Game hit an elbow to send HBK crashing to the floor. They fought up the entranceway, where HBK backdropped his way out of a Pedigree, and nailed The Game with a sandbag. They eventually brawled back to the ring, where Michaels hit his opponent with a wet mop.

Back in the ring, an errant clothesline from HBK knocked out the referee, and Triple H hit a DDT. A new referee came in for the two count, and The Game confronted the referee. After referee Chad Patton backed The Game down by showing him the Army patch on his shirt, Triple H saluted him, then nailed him with a clothesline. Triple H then went to the top, but Michaels got a boot up and began his comeback. He warmed up the band, but Triple H ducked and set up for a Pedigree. HBK reversed that into a slingshot into the turnbuckles, and then nailed Sweet Chin Music to get the victory over The Game.

In additional action, WWE Champion John Cena defeated Chris Masters in a non-title match, Intercontinental Champion Ric Flair defeated Coach in an impromptu challenge match for the Intercontinental Championship, Big Show defeated Carlito and Snitsky defeated Shelton Benjamin.

Fresh off of RAW’s Tribute to the Troops, it will be a night of many questions when Monday Night RAW rolls into Bridgeport, Conn.

Two weeks ago, Kurt Angle announced that he would not be going to Afghanistan for RAW's Tribute to the Troops because he didn't feel like he should represent a country that disrespects. This week, Angle will make another major announcement. What will the Olympic Gold Medalist have to say?

Also two weeks ago, Triple H interfered in the Big Show vs. Shawn Michaels Elimination Chamber Qualifying Match, whacking HBK with a chair to get Show disqualified. Big Show later gained revenge, helping his partner Kane defeat The Game to also qualify for the Chamber. HBK got his revenge, defeating Triple H in a Boot Camp Match last week. Will these three Superstars be at each other’s throats again in Bridgeport?

After firing Eric Bischoff on Dec. 5, Mr. McMahon announced two weeks ago that he would be the interim General Manager of RAW. That night, several WWE Superstars expressed their interest in the job. Will Mr. McMahon have any new information on who will possibly succeed Bischoff?

So far, the Elimination Chamber is set for New Year’s Revolution, and Trish Stratus will defend the Women’s Championship against Mickie James on Jan. 8 as well. Will Mr. McMahon have anything more to announce about the first RAW pay-per-view of 2006?

For the answers to these questions and more, tune into the final Monday Night RAW of 2005 next Monday night at 9/8 CT on the USA Network.

Wow, i just looked online, and apparently in January The Wrestling Channel will be showing more up to date TNA, rather than showing it 5-weeks behind like currently. It'll only have a 1 week delay now, so i might actually be tempted to start watching. The Wrestling Channel shows just about all wrestlign except WWE, and its a bit crappy, but with TNA closer to its actual release, it should get better.

Major Morning & Afternoon News Update

Loads Of TNA News: Hardy Suspended?, Waltman, Styles, More

Jeff Hardy has not been released as we noted on TNAWrestlingNews.com several days ago. There is talk of bringing Sean Waltman back while Hardy 'sits out' after no showing the PPV last weekend. Waltman has been at all PPV events since he no showed a PPV several months ago.

AJ Styles pulled out of the ROH show this past weekend but did work a show for Vince Russo's religious promotion the night before ROH in Georgia. The reason Styles worked Russo's show is because it was about five minutes from his house and he had already cancelled on Russo once. Styles busted his lip open at the event which didn't help matters.

As noted on TNAWrestlingNews.com last week, former TNA CEO Frank Dickerson was backstage at Turning Point helping the new guy with his duties and finishing up on some work he had started.

The New Year's Eve edition of Impact on 12/31 will air at 8 PM with the "first wrestling match of 2006" scheduled to air at midnight.

NASCAR driver Hermie Sadler was at the TNA Impact tapings last Tuesday.

Victory Road will be the name of TNA's July PPV.

New WWE Royal Rumble Advertisments & Preview Featuring McMahon's

Here is the short cable Royal Rumble preview:

30 Superstars. One goal - to be the last man standing and earn a shot at the title at WrestleMania. Don't miss the over the top action of WWE's Royal Rumble. RAW and SmackDown present Royal Rumble, Sunday, January 29th, live at 8pm ET/5pm PT, only on Pay-Per-View.

Thanks to reader Chet for sending in the following:

"I am sending you a download of the Royal Rumble commercial that has been playing in my hometown. It shows Vince McMahon and Shane McMahon speaking to each other in ancient Roman Times with Vince playing Caesar and asking how to please the people. The camera then pans out to show Stephanie who is dressed like a Greek God (who looks great by the way) and Linda saying they have a knew concept, "The Royal Rumble" however they pronounce it a bit different as if they are living in ancient Rome. After this we see Shane dancing around after he stabs Vince in the back, basically playing off the Brutus vs Caesar stabbing.

Not sure if it means anything as no superstars were pictured and this may have played in some areas last night during the Armageddon PPV, but I thought you could pass it along to your readers."

Joey Styles News, New WWE Character, Tim White Angle

Joey Styles spent his Monday at WWE Headquarters taping voiceovers for tonight's Tribute To The Troops edition of WWE RAW. He will be permanently relocating to Stamford, CT in the near future.

WWE developmental talent Ken Doane portrayed his new gimmick, in which he plays the leader of the "Spirit Squad" male cheerleader group, on the road with the RAW brand this weekend.

The suicide portion of last night's Tim White segment was edited from the replay airings of the WWE Armageddon PPV in the UK. Very few WWE employees have come to the angle's defense.

Ronnie William Arneill and Devon Nicholson have been invited to try out for World Wrestling Entertainment in Buffalo, NY on December 29th.

WWE ran ads in the New York Times today promoting the "Tribute to the Troops" edition of RAW tonight.

WWE Injury, Tim White Update, More

Matt Striker did suffer a shoulder injury last night although we don't have an update. Striker was scheduled to continue 'talking' as a part of his new teacher gimmick and wasn't scheduled to make his in-ring debut on RAW for several weeks.

Several fans who went to Tim White's bar, The Friendly Tap last night saw a sign on the door that said "Closed due to a family emergency." which means they are playing up the storyline.

SmackDown! announcer Kristal Marshall will appear every single day this week on the game show "Deal or No Deal".

The Hartford Courant had an article on WWE RAW today and noting "Nothing says home for the holidays like steroid-mad muscleman putting one another in fake holds."

Christy Hemme-TNA Update, Styles-WWE, Guerrero, Storm, More

Joey Styles will be permanently relocating to Stamford, CT in the near future.

Eddie Guerrero's book "Cheating Death and Stealing Life" was released today with all proceeds going to the Guerrero family.

Former WWE superstar Lance Storm was approached about working a match against ROH champion Bryan Danielson, but Storm said he considers himself retired.

WWE Stocks closed the day at 14.39, a 0.28% decrease over Friday's closing. The day's range was 14.02 - 14.52.

TNA's Dixie Carter has tried to get in contact with Christy Hemme and from what is known nothing has been worked out. According to a report in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Hemme has gotten very thin in a quick period of time. Hemme appeared on the 12/3 OVW TV show. I don't watch TNA that much, so I'm not sure if he still uses the "Unprettier." As for the name change, you are correct. Christian reverted back to his old name of Christian Cage when he went to TNA, because he would either be sued all to hell by WWE, or have to pay outrages amounts of money to own the copyright to the name.

Another note. My next news update (which will probably be posted before 8:00pm Eastern Time.) will be 2 posts long. Because of school (damn education...cutting into my wrestling :P) I have fallen behind in my updates for you all. Therefore, I will be posting an extra long special. The main topic of the news break will be the EXTREMELY controversial "Suicide Angle" the WWE is pursuing with Tim White.

They'd never sell him the copyright, the reason they keep bitching about that right now is to try and handicap any promotion that would want to use them, but can't afford photographic ads from being able to say "we have this former WWE superstar working for us". He also owns a trademark for "Captain Charisma" as well.

Mickie James Holiday Photos, Update On Tim White Angle, DVD; More

Now available on WWEAuction is the holiday bag that Vito and Nunzio brought to the ring at Armageddon that the Boogeyman conjured worms out of. The bag features autorgraphs by Vito and Nunzio. The auction page also notes that worms are not included.

Next Week on December 27th, the Survivor Series DVD will be on sale.

After putting the sign at Tim White's bar that read, "family emergency" local police actually came to White's bar after receiving phone calls about the incident, leaving White to have to explain the situation. I have been told that the White vignette may have been part of a larger on camera role for White in the future.

WWE's website is now featuring new holiday photos of Mickie James. There aren't many photos available but the ones that are, are great.

Benoit/Candice, DDP, WWE Injury, Guerrero, Loads More

Chris Benoit and Candice Michelle will appear on Byte This tomorrow night on WWE.com.

We received a lot of emails asking why Page wasn't on The Abrams Report as expected yesterday. Due to the coverage of the plane crash in Florida, Page's segment was moved to today. You can catch Page on The Abrams Report on MSNBC at 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM EST today.

WWE developmental talent Nick Mitchell has suffered some sort of knee injury.

Borders Books is pushing the Eddie Guerrero book hard as it was placed in the front of the store with all the new bestsellers.

The following is from Friendlytap.com, the official website of Tim White's bar: "In the past 24 hours, this website has received over 4000 emails regarding the situation at WWE Armageddon this past Sunday night involving Tim White. We have been vigorously been trying to get in contact with Tim. We have not, as of yet, been able to. No one that we have contacted has any information regarding Tim or what happened."

One source noted that local police attended to the bar after receiving phone calls that something may have happened. From what we are being told, this may be the beginning of a larger role for White.

Jamal/Cena Storyline?, PPV Buyrates, Backstage WWE News

For the last quarter, the average cost of running a WWE house show was $139,474. This would seem to explain why WWE balked when Madison Square Garden raised its rental fees.

There is talk of honoring Eddie Guerrero at New Japan's 1/4 Tokyo Dome show.

Rumor has the returning Jamal aligning himself with John Cena is an attempt to give Cena's thug character street cred.

The one hour Smackdown special on 11/29 did a 2.35 rating.

Here are some rumored PPV buyrates:

ECW One Night Stand - upped to about 330,000 buys, estimated

Vengeance - with HHH vs. Batista, hell in the cell, drew about 472,000 buys. The original estimate was around 315,000.

Summerslam - estimated at 534,000 buys, headlined by Hogan vs. Michaels. Last year's Summerslam did about 387,000 buys.

Unforgiven - projected at 225,000 buys

No Mercy - est. at 219,000 buys. Of course, it was Eddie Guerrero's last PPV appearance.

Police Called To Tim White's Bar Over Suicide Segment

In what might blow away any past awards for sheer absurdity within wrestling; the aftermath of the sketch on Sunday night's Armageddon PPV, in which a "despondent" Tim White was depicted at his Friendly Tap bar outside of Providence, RI, downing shots and beers (dealing with the pain of his legitimate injuries suffered at a previous Hell In The Cell match) then taking a rifle and off screen, firing the gun, with an implied suicide, resulted in the following...in real-life.

According to the webmaster of the FriendlyTap.com website for Tim White's bar, this skit blew up to the extent that:

1) Local Cumberland, CT police got an estimated 1,000 phone calls about the "suicide" depicted on the PPV.

2) The door of White's Friendly Tap bar was pried off the hinges by local police and fire, causing $3,000 in damages.

3) White himself has to give a deposition regarding the incident to local police, who were upset about not having been clued in ahead of time to the sketch.

4) The e-mail address of the bar recived 4,000 e-mails of condolence and comment.

This reaction may rank up there with the classic September 1, 1990 angle in which Jerry Lawler was run over by an automobile driven by Eddie Gilbert on the live WMC Memphis TV show; causing Memphis police to storm the studio looking for Gilbert.
