Chris Benoit's Current Status With WWE, TNA Possibility
Some time in this January, Chris Benoit's current WWE contract with WWE will be expiring. Currently Benoit is said to be seeking a much lighter work schedule once his deal with the company does in fact expire.
It has been reported in the past that New Japan has contacted Chris Benoit about possibly working specific dates on a much lighter schedule then the WWE is currently offering him. At this time, Brock Lesnar is currently doing what they offered Benoit.
As of right now, TNA has not approached Benoit yet on a possible agreement or a contract with their company due to the fact they just recently invested a significant amount of money in signing Sting to just a one year deal. Panda Energy has given TNA plenty of money, but in this case that isn't the reason TNA hasn't approached him. Its simply that if they did what they did for Sting to for Benoit, it would show the core talent in TNA that the company is more worried about bringing in big names as opposed to using solid talent they already have. And based on what we are hearing, it appears TNA management values Sting's services over Benoit.
As it stands right now, Chris Benoit has not decided if he wants to renew his contract with WWE or pursue other alternatives in the business.

Judge Denies WWE's Attempt For Restraining Order Against Brock Lesnar
Recently Judge Christopher Droney has denied the request by the WWE for a Temporary Restraining Order to prevent Brock Lesnar from appearing on New Janpan Pro Wrestling or any other wrestling company.
In an "Order To Show Cause" that was filed on December 13 that has set a hearing for January 3, 2006 will require Lesnar to "show cause why preliminary injunction should not be issued"
December 27, is the deadline that the judge has set for both sides to present a list of witnesses and any other documents in support of their arguments.
Last weekend the WWE had attempted to prevent Lesnar from appearing at a New Japan show. The court at the time did not act on the request for a Temporary Restraining Order prior to the weekend appearances, so the order issued on December 13 was merely a formality.
