Lucky you.

working round and round he goes...on hard he does it like 20 times because guardian frost heals lots and he does overlimit almost all the time.

guardian frost can be beaten by magic, rita's splash owns everyone....but gusios but its not about him today, if he is od'ing alit then study his hp to see what time he does it and run when his hp hits around that mark, the reason you run is because 1-2 target better then whole party, or you not getting hit..on the higher dificulties he uses this as wear and tear as he goes overlimit every 50000 hp or so, back on track back on track, you should have lone wolf charge around this time
No, no Lone Wolf Charge. I'm only lv. 42 with everybody; if you happened to know when I got it, that would be nice.

i think you get lone wolf charge at 45 or 50....i was almost 50 at this point...a little under lvl if bc kills you, infact you might have just learned brutal fang...awesome art for yuri...

, put allemic and gale on and start using lone wolf swarm, its a godsend, a deadly knockdown with some range, i'd rather not use judtith for this fight because she's inflexible for combo's with yuri,
Actually, I found Judith a little useful. Because, whenever I had to use an item, or Yuri had to stop fighting for a moment for any reason, Judith kept the combo going. When I tried the fight with Rita, I had no problems for the first half of the fight, as in I used no Life Bottles. However, replacing Judith with Rita allowed Alexei to spam Guardian Frost. And when I say spam, I mean I'd never seen him use it that much. He used it about 12 times before he killed me with BC.

yeah bc shouldnt kill off the first so easy...you should lvl up a bit...
alexei likes to stand around alot, spells like spiral flare and, shampagne works easy on this guy...make sure you use rita's overlimit, because its not a party without her, its a fiesta.

karol has great power to knock him out stagger but the fucker is slow. make sure you use overlimit spam from raven or rita...i did this fight with yuri, estelle, rita, repede, and it went with no problems outside his usual spunk, just remember if a boss overlimit, run so you dont suffer with the rest of the party or take the rest of the party with you, yaeger's moveset made him hard to deal with, alexiei doesnt have that...pummel that shit.
I'm thinking next time I fight, I'll use Yuri, Judith, Estelle, and Rita. Rita was pretty useful, and the only thing Raven does is live through BC occasionally. But, whatever, I'll figure it out.
Also, in other news. What I forgot to mention from the NP RPG special was that there is a new Tales game in the works for the Wii.
Anybody else excited. Also, the name has not been released, just footage.

yeah me and knux knew about it for a while now...sucks because i dont have a wii.

At Death Note.
Judith makes for good eye candy but her battle skills are very poor unless you're a smart player (like me ^^).
And CPU doesn't pass for "smart in this game".
Just bring Rita in, as much of a----*restrains rage*-----bad girl she may be, she is very much so indeed useful.

Like I told grey, Judith is invaluable to me. When she and Yuri get going, they can just string together an incredibly high combo.

And CPU doesn't pass for "smart in this game".

I have noticed that at times.

Just bring Rita in, as much of a----*restrains rage*-----bad girl she may be, she is very much so indeed useful.

And I found that out when I gave her a try. So, Raven gets the boot.

Yuri and Judith, it has to happen. But it won't.

hey guys. I was wondering if i could join? I've been playing rpgs my whole life, from mystic quest to oblivion. I also started playing DnD, and a DM a group. Also, do you guys focus more on video games or paper based rpgs? im cool with either.

Thanks!

But they're both such great games. Should I bring up Disgaea? Or Skies of Arcadia? I wouldn't mind talking about the latter. I'm a bit nostalgic for that game now.

But let's just leave Chrono Trigger alone, please.

What the heck is DnD and DM anyway? I hate when people use abbreviations and assume that everyone knows what it is off the back.

I don't even know what a paper based rpg is...
So the answer is pretty obvious.

I haven't played Skies of Arcadia in 3 years, plus I traded it in, nice rpg though, I'd love to talk about that.

Same here. I'd have to buy Arcadia again just to remember anything from it, it's been so long. But, it would be a good buy, and for me it was the first RPG I ever played. All I remember is that Blue Rouges=good, Black Pirates=Bad, THE BELLYDANCER ISN'T WHO YOU THINK SHE IS, and random encounters.

Oh, and Parastol or whatever her name is.

And Zelda's not really an RPG. More of Adventure/Action.

I find FF a bit too monotonous. If you've played one, you've played them all. However, I'm hoping FFXIII will change my mind.

I never said they aren't. It's just that I haven't played them.

I've got Laharl to lvl 3572 (Ha, close to a million HP and DEF), it's getting harder to level up. If it weren't for the item stages I'd be stuffed. I usually toss enemies together until they're level 9999, always brings a plus of 2 levels for killing them. It's not that they're tough, it's just that they hardly bring any experience...

Luckily I found the Yoshitsuna sword, mighty lil' thing it is. But the Super Robo Suits help aswell.
My other characters are unbalanced in terms of level. I've still got a few 80's and a few just under 2000.

wut, I just noticed that my Space Pirate is level 3697.

Did anyone notice that the weapon names are not just random shit but are based on (mostly norse) mythology?

My other characters are unbalanced in terms of level. I've still got a few 80's and a few just under 2000.

Out of habit, I've always tried to keep my characters even on level, but it never pans out. Laharl and Hoggmeiser are lv. 14, Etna's level 12, Flonne 6, and all the created characters somewhere between 6-8.

I've no intelligent response to that.

In most RPGs Norse mythology is a great reference point. Because their culture was based around warfare, they thought up so many great weapons for their gods.

Or Skies of Arcadia? I wouldn't mind talking about the latter. I'm a bit nostalgic for that game now.
Heard of it, haven't played. But do tell me about it.

Well, it was made by SEGA if I'm not mistaken, and is your standard RPG with turn-based combat. The story is based around a band of young Sky Pirates (and who doesn't love pirates), and a mysterious young girl, the aforementioned Fina. There are a bevy of side quests, and a bunch of optional bosses . It was the first RPG I ever played, so I may be a little biased, but it was a great game. You could probably get more info from Knux.

You mean me?
Well, um...
The game revolves around 6 elements (if I'm not mistaken), there was a reigion for each element. As well was (I think they were called) Gigas, there was one Gigas for each element as well, and at one point we had to take ,em down.

I'm shocked and offended that no one said anything about the other types of fights you have, battleship fights, which in my opinion was one of the most fun aspects of the game, you play a game of airbourne battleship, which was how you fought these Gigas, I used to know all their names, but I only remember the green one, Grendel.

There was a dictatorship, which took over the entire Lightning region, an asian-esque water area, arab-esque fire area, I think you start out on neutral territory, nonelemental.

And with the very limited power of youtube, you don't have to use your imagination!

My most hated fight.
The most badass fight ever in this game.
Best ship fight in the game, followed by the second most badass fight.
Gigas fight.
Another Gigas fight.

Talking about this made me want to get this game again.
I think I will...

I had a choice of getting this or ToS, and I chose ToS. SOA doesn't look that bad o_o. The ship fighting looks awesome :3, and the regular battle system looks like the regular FF system.

Also, deathnote? Are you playing the Disgaea on the DS? If so, then leveling should take a while. The hardest monsters you face for a while will only be 70. Im stuck at this part and I gotta power level. Everyone is level 40 and the enemies are 70. Huge jump in enemy level.

Yeah, I got it for the DS. I'm at the part where Mid-Boss makes his grand reappearance in the Burning Core (or whatever it's called). He's level 17 and Laharl is only level 14, and I have to do a bit of grinding in the item world to get everyone else ready for that fight.

And I'm putting it off, seeing as how I have to grind in Vesperia right now as well.

I see, well, after grinding in Vesperia, your gonna have a lotta grinding to do in Disgaea.

I'm currently replaying Paper Mario and Paper Mario 2

To you my good sir, I tip my hat.

Even after almost beating the game, I didn't finish the pit of 100 trials. It took me a good 2 hours to run through that...

Speaking of time consuming, you may not remember, but how long did it take you guys to kill Abbysson in ToS? After using an All-Divide, and having lvl 60 people, it took me a good hour and a half.

Longest boss battle I had ever played.

To you my good sir, I tip my hat.

Even after almost beating the game, I didn't finish the pit of 100 trials. It took me a good 2 hours to run through that...

just gotta know what to add when you level up...i kinda needed vivian too...she helped quite a bit.

Speaking of time consuming, you may not remember, but how long did it take you guys to kill Abbysson in ToS? After using an All-Divide, and having lvl 60 people, it took me a good hour and a half.

Longest boss battle I had ever played.

i dont know...a half an hour...never all-divided it, but in abyss me and knux took over a hour trying to kill nebelim..something almost 2 hours i think...madness is the word to discribe it.

i need pictures of abyssion, van, alexei, and laharl...damn back to deviant art.
