Flash To First Online Ps3 Game 2006-11-26 09:03:41

As you may know, Tom Fulp made the hit game Alien Hominid, which sold thousands of copies, including one to myself :P.

And another originally flash game, Flow, is set for the Playstation, but this time, the PS3. But not just as any game, as one of PS3's debut online games. It will be able to be bought through the PS3's online store for around £10-15 when the console is released over here in March. I don't know when, or if it is already released in Japan or the USA. But info would be appreciated :).

Anyway, it's quite inspiring to see how another flash game has been turned from a simple University project(See pic) with smooth game play into one of PS3's debut games with even better game play. I scanned in the article from Official Play station Magazine UK, so even before release it has allot of publicity.

Anyway, here's some links to prove I'm not making it up :P.

Saw Flow featured in Develop Magazine as a Form Follows Function game. The type of games where graphics are only taken as far as they *need* to be for the game itself. Well done to them - and we can only hope jmtb's not too far behind with his own similar looking and styled games.

Yeah, i thought that. The game reminded me of -ellipsis-, that'll be great to play on Wiicade.com one the Wii comes out eh?

Lots of love for Elipsis. Only saw it a day ago. And yeah, would be good with a few tweaks for the Wii (I personally think the sparks should become a gameplay element... maybe they act as shrapnel or something...).

Its nice to see that Flash gaming *is* a viable means to affect the games industry. People are slowly looking back to the simple times of gaming to supplement thier need for next-gen graphics. Thanks to that much wider pallete of tastes, there's more going on in the games indy than just PS3 and XBox360.
