One would be Excel Saga, another one would be Slayers. That's my 2 cents for advice.

Hi,
I just got a copy of the Nentendo64 neongenesis game! Ive been hunting it for almost a year now, it is pretty good, but is let down by the "no plot line" aspect.
I also just got my Graphic arts tablet from WACOM.
!!!!! WHAT A WEEK!!!!!

Yeah, german dubbing!

I don't think I have heard enough of it myself, but I would have expected all dubbing except for Japanese, North American and Cantonese dubbing to be overseen by these three.

Does German Dubbing companies EDIT material like those bastards at 4Kids?

I figure they have to edit a little for lip synching. It makes me wish Toonami and other anime-airing program blocks would offer subtitled series, like International Channel did with The Slayers. First, viewers get to see the anime in the form it is before editors chop it up. Second, it's great for learning the language becuase you can listen to the characters speak in Japanese and read what it means in English at the bottom of the screen.

Well, that is understandable. Even I would try to force synching if reasonable.
The editing I'm talking about would be plot changes.

=====POTENTIAL SPOILER=============
Such as that episode in One Piece when Nami stabs herself instead of Ussop.

It got edited to Nami using a Rubber Knife instead and removing all blood.
=====SPOILER END==================

Some are worse edits. To the extent of episode cutting.

It makes me wish Toonami and other anime-airing program blocks would offer subtitled series, like International Channel did with The Slayers.

Too bad there are too many dumb Dubbing companies out there.

The only good one I can trust to make good results would be ADV.
They're the good people who know what Viewers want. The keep to the original soundtrack, do quality voicing and best of all, the majority of their DVD releases also include "Japanese + English Subtitles" as an option.

And keeping the Opening and Ending themes... Very good. Since it's partly what makes a series what it is.

First, viewers get to see the anime in the form it is before editors chop it up. Second, it's great for learning the language becuase you can listen to the characters speak in Japanese and read what it means in English at the bottom of the screen.

Which explains why so much terminology in Japanese gets lost in translation thus misleading plenty of "Fanboy-Borne Japanese Speakers" (a.k.a Fakers or Phonies) into having a worse grasp of the language.

One Piece has the worst edits... I used to watch it on 4kids cause i dont like keeping up with the story line by reading online mangas, they cut out i think 30 episodes or something like that cause they wanted to get to one part of the story that bad... 4Kids ruins One Piece, the actual anime is really good (especially when it comes to violence)... I think its time for me to sit down and write an angry letter to 4kids...

Let the fun begin :D

heres my two cents: trigun starts out really funny but gets really serious. cowboy bebop can have its funny moments. other than that, i cant really think of any others.

So those sites bashing 4Kids' dubbing of this particular animation wasn't exaggerated...

I used to watch it on 4kids cause i dont like keeping up with the story line by reading online mangas, they cut out i think 30 episodes or something like that cause they wanted to get to one part of the story that bad...

What about downloading those episodes in its uncut and original form, and buying those original DVDs to justify those downloadings?

4Kids ruins One Piece, the actual anime is really good (especially when it comes to violence)...

Though I'm not too much of a big fan of One Piece, it's still something I must recognise for its popularity and unique art style.

I think its time for me to sit down and write an angry letter to 4kids...

Or just drop some bombs on 'em for fun like in the link I put a page or two earlier on.

I agree that they do ruin a lot of good things, but think about it. The name of the company kinda implies who the're targeting so I cant really get upset about it like every one else.

Oh, and you at the same time imply that what 4Kids does is justified just because of their name?

For crying out loud, they BOUGHT the licence for their money whoring intents and to "Make North America Kid Friendly". They're committing MURDER of great Animations for crying out loud!

They're like some plague or virus corrupting Animations from other countries and filling kids with the dreaded North American Animations which ripoff original Japanese Cartoons now! Winx Club, what the hell is that, some Sailor Moon ripoff?!

DAMN THE 4KIDS.

not at all, I'm just saying that it was edited specificly to people at the age of 7. It wasnt meant to please us older anime fans.

For crying out loud, they BOUGHT the licence for their money whoring intents and to "Make North America Kid Friendly". They're committing MURDER of great Animations for crying out loud!

maybe so, but like you just said,"child friendly". I'm pretty sure parents dont want there 7 year old daughter watching Nami stab herself and making a big bloody mess. I know I dont want my cousin watching stuff like that.

They're like some plague or virus corrupting Animations from other countries and filling kids with the dreaded North American Animations which ripoff original Japanese Cartoons now! Winx Club, what the hell is that, some Sailor Moon ripoff?!

I do agree with that, what IS the winx club I almost died of laughter when I heard the theme song. Than laghed more when my brouter got into it. I'm not saying ripoffs are good... I dont know how that got brought up... but as I was saying. 4kids is specificly targeting the younger audiances. If they dont edit it, than they arent reaching the right people, or even worse they do reach small children , then it becomes political. parents would be in an uproar about how "graphic " it is then it'd turn out loke th Jerry springer Show. In which case it would be edited to the way it is now, that is, if it isnt removed completely.

DAMN THE 4KIDS.
