Movies I know: Spirited Away, Puni Puni Poemy, Cosplay Complex <= ( HATED IT), Happy Lessons (OVA)

Series: Dragon Ball, Z, GT, Ranma 1/2, Shaman King

Games: Final fantasy 7-9, Tales of Symphonia, Azure Dreams, Legend of Mana, among others.

Am I qualified? :)

Sure! Just pick 5 of the movie/series that would liked the most and list them along with an anime character to represent you, thats not chosen by another member. Click the words Anime Club in my sig to see the members list.

p.s. The character has to be the same gender as you and has to be a living creature not a robot. Androids are cool, just not gundams and such.

What the crap is up with TechTV now with the show Anime Unleashed? They were going ok, a little screwed up, but then they switched shows before one was even close to being over. What the hell?

I'm just missing stuff, aren't I?

My advice: Don't watch crappy, dubbed, edited for TV anime. Use less than legal ways (but don't discuss them) or buy the DVDs.

I'm just missing stuff, aren't I?

Probably.

Nice nice! Loved it I watched the whole TV series and one of the OVAs, still I think that I have not watched the Advance series of it. I have also seen that there was a game based on it not to long ago. I loved that anime, aswell as Kisaragi being my favorite girl in it. Next to Hana that is, heh.

Shaman King

About that, would you mind telling me if it has a good OP and ED?

Games: Final fantasy 7-9,

Always a good series, only ones I have played would be 7, X, X-2, Chronicals, and that's it I belive.

Tales of Symphonia

Wow! I think you are the only member here besides me that has played that game. What disc are you on? I am still on disc five, somewhere along where I have just beaten Kavar. So what did you think of that game? I myself really enjoyed it very much.

Also I would like to change my character to Kratos, from Tales of Symphonia. Here is my list.

Wild Arms twilight Venom
Happy Lesson
Saiyuki
Detective Conan
Comic Party

So there I guess now I am Kratos.

Also BigFan you say that you like fan service, well have you ever layed eyes upon Amazing Nurse Nanako?

I'm sure that this is a question that has been asked often in this club, but what do you people think is the absolute worst anime of all time?

I myself am going to have to go with either DBZ or Fist of the North Star.

I've heard that DBZ was actually good before FUNimation and CN edited it. And I didn't think that Fist of the North Star was that bad. So my worst anime would be.....after 3 years of anime addiction, I can't remember anymore.

At 10/13/04 09:31 PM, Wonko-the-Sane wrote: I've heard that DBZ was actually good before FUNimation and CN edited it.

I thought it was riduculous. It was pretty much a series of increasingly powerful villians, who would appear and start a long chain of episodes in which the combatants would grunt, strain, and yell as they "powered up", the more useless characters watching from a distance, then the good guy shoots some sort of energy cannon at the villian, who always emerges from the smoke unscathed, whereupon each onlooker expresses amazement. The uber powerful villian then relentlessly pummels the good guy, transforming into increasingly stronger versions of himself until said good guy somehow taps into an inner reserve of strength, and turns the tables, saving the day. Repeat.
Predictable, tiresome formula, and dragged out to the point of ridiculousness, made unnecessarily long and boring, with such devices as "switching to the perspective far away characters during the battle, who would then procede to look out the window and speculate as to how their friend/family member was fairing in the battle" and of course the ever popular long perspective switching sequence in which practically every onlooking character, one at a time, expresses their feelings over a some turn of events in the fight. Then there's the classic "good guy and villian float in front of each other exchanging long and pointless rambles". The whole Dragonball thing was annoying too, seemingly every time something tragic took place, it would be rectified with the Dragonballs, this usually involving character deaths. And what's up with preview and title spoiling what happens next?

Announcer: "Will Goku find the strength to defeat Freiza?"
*a series of screenshots from the next episode depicts Goku killing Freiza*
Title of the next episode: Freiza is defeated
Lame.

Don't even get me started on the plot holes. Or those God-awful dubs.

I could ramble for hours on the idiocy of that show.

Yeah, but that had been building up for awhile. I just felt the need to criticize that show.

Dragon Ball was I a lot better, I believe.

...Ginyu means milk.
Captain Ginyu = Captain Milk.
Uulong = tea.
Trunks and his sister Bra, the underwear siblings.
Crazy character names.

I have a question about the GTO anime show. When does it end? I heard it doesn't go as long as the manga's storyline...

YU-GAY-HOE!!!! this the the worst cartoon of any genere i have ever seen. I saw the 1st 3 episodes and couldn't stand it. all they do is just yack yack yack yack yack yack yack yack yack yack for 25 mins. and "action" in the last 5 mins is so boaring it puts me to sleep!

hmm i think theres more to that. its an, i hate to say, anime where winning a card game will save the world. i mean wtf. oh and the "duelers" frikken love to give explicit details of their cards, giving their opposition a little idea on how to counter it. oh and they make big deals out of 200 out of 2000 life pts. i mean com'n how picky can you get. sure it may be fun for elementary kids.
but for the gba games they have. not bad. its sort of like pokemon. gay show okay game

but as for my opinion for the worst anime goes to................dragonball gt

I have no respect for anime that is created simply to sell gaming cards or other secondary products. Watching shows like that makes me enjoy the commerical breaks.

Anyway... I saw that Tales of Eternia is now an anime on fansub, making me pray that they make one about Tales of Symphonia. Can only hope though.

Can someone tell me when Chapter # 235 of the Naruto Manga will be out. I know it's printed in the weekly jump, so does that mean it takes about a week(or more) to translate right?

Not true. Remember that episode when... Or how about when Trunks...... Well, I guess that's true about the main fights (which ALWAYS (or almost always) took at least 3 episodes to show. But the little 'filler' fights (like at the very beginning of the Trunks saga) were usu. very short, and didn't follow that formula, unlike EVERY OTHER FIGHT!!! I think I saw a movie that was worse, though. It was called Vengeance of the Space Pirates. See it if you want to see some REALLY shitty animation.

You've got a really good point there. I hate how DBZ always spoiled the next episode like that, the same way they spoiled the end of the Buu saga. Besides, the ending is obvious anyways. The good guys will always win, and the villains will be destroyed or otherwise defeated.

Don't even get me started on the plot holes. Or those God-awful dubs.

There are probably a ton of plotholes, but I just can't think of any right now.

I could ramble for hours on the idiocy of that show.
