I've never watched the .hack// anime on TV or DVD, or otherwise, and I know the games have been out for a while, but I'm still kinda tempted to buy the first one and see what it's like.
Well, earlier (Around 40-50 pages back) I wrote what I thought of .hack//sign the game.
"I've been playing the .hack//sign game for PS2 at my aunt's house, I played it for 5 hours straight. O_O That game is awesome. I heard the only difference between the game and anime is the names of some characters. I'll be watching the .hack//sign anime whenever I have time. A lot of people find it confusing, but I don't. Maybe it's just the anime that's confusing?"
And then about 2 pages later...
".hack// really interests me, so that's on my anime-to-get-list-when-I-make-it-big =P. On the subject of .hack//sign, earlier today the last boss killed me in the game. ='( I lost the 4 levels I gained, and a lot of time. I also concluded that the game of .hack//sign is kind of in an alternate universe; same "The World", same characters but different names and different story. (i.e. Tsukasa = Elk, Mimiru = BlackRose, Bear = Orca, The cat character = Mia) .hack//sign is really addictive."
The game is simulated MMORPG. (it makes you feel and think that you're playing with other people online) You play in "The Woirld" as Kite, whose name you can change to whatever you want, and your friend has invited you to play. Your friend is one of the best players online, his game name is "Orca". When you first meet him, you see that he's at lvl 50. Aaaaaaand you're level 1. He teaches you how to play and then as you go into a dungeon something happens... I won't say what it is though.
All in all, I loved the game. There are 4 games, which in reality is just 4 parts to the same game. When you beat Part 1, you can load your status into part 2 and keep playing at the level you're at. (In the first game, Infection, the level cap is 30.) And that's my look at the .hack//sign game.
