*sigh* I HATE having to explain this to people. Wonko the Sane. wonko. think about it. also think about what kind of person claims to be sane.

Hey, haven’t been on here in ages. Sorry about that, I have been going to the other clubs and there there’s work as so on and so on. It can get quite hectic around the holiday period, which these days can run up to 3 months thanks to commercialism.

Anyway, I came to post on here because of the topic on the general forum ‘What is the greatest Anime’ now, there were plenty of answers banded about. Akira, Perfect Blue, Ghost in the Shell and so on. Now you can argue over and over, subjecting any Anime to a host of categories to scrutinise which would be the greatest . As well as the fact that different people like different things. What I would like to ask is a different question but one very close to the one on the general forum.

Which do you think is the most important Anime?

I think that this is an interesting question as you get away from the technicalities of an Anime and instead you have to look at the situation of Anime as a whole.

I do think that Akira is a very, very important Anime as it brought a whole new type of Anime into the mainstream and made a lot of people aware of Japanimation for the first time. However, I do have 1 more that is important and that’s all of the children’s cartoon shows that you could find on Saturday mornings on kids TV. I used to have a collection of them, called ‘The Formators’ about 3 sort of space crafts that could combine to create 3 different giant robots. It was these TV programmes that first got me into that type of animation and planted the seeds of what would develop into my love of Anime. I’m betting that this is also true for a lot of other people as well.

What do you all think?

try doing your senior project. I've got to do a 5-10 page research paper fist sememster, and spend at least 15 hours on a project second semester. And if I don't turn in everything absolutely correctly, I don't graduate.

junior year is a fucking picnic. I have to sign up for the ACT (an alternative to the SAT), just to get into a fucking junior college, hope they can transer me into a 4 year college after my 2 years there, then to get the job I want I have to spend 8 years getting a Ph.D. in history.
