Any of the ones you recommended from those genres?

Oh, I see. Well, out of what I listed, Brave Story is a fantasy adventure, pretty lighthearted. Aachi wa Ssipak is loaded with over-the-top action, but comedy is also a huge part of it. The humor is very low brow, though, but I thought it was hilarious. Kemonozume has a good deal of action but also a unique style. It's also a romance...an...interesting romance. Tekkon Kinkreet has some action. Genius Party, Genius Party Beyond, Neo Tokyo, and Memories are all short film collections. Mixed bag there. If you had a Myanimelist, it'd be easier cuz I'd know what you've already seen. You said you've seen a lot, so odds are you already know these, but there's Baccano, Darker Than Black, Michiko to Hatchin, Sword of the Stranger. Dead Leaves was a good action comedy spectacle. Some cheesy, but fun, action guilty pleasures are Mad Bull 34, Crying Freeman, BAOH and Violence Jack.

Dude, get to watching the rest ASAP. Episode 3 is already so epic it feels like a finale, and it certainly did disregard physics as much as Gurren Lagann's final episode.

Hi, new to this world really, can't stress enough how much I've talked down on anime in the past and now I'm basically submerged in it.

I watch a lot of tumblr popular stuff, like Attack on Titan and Dangan Ronpa, but I also watch some Trigun and read some Ningyou Kyuutei Gakudan. Oh and I got all of Cowboy Bebop on my computer right now that I'm currently eating up, so there's that as well.

If you guys can recommend some other good starter stuff, I'll be mighty thankful.

I actually have that in my bookmarks. I just haven't felt like watching it. Seeing as how I've wasted my night already I'll definitely watch it tomorrow.

Also now that it's finally over, what are your thoughts on Attack on Titan?

Watched Fate/Zero it is amazing and as for Shingeki my thoughts are this: decent characters, cool soundtrack and a retarded story. It was okay. Fate/Zero is like 80 times better.

Just watched the the first 3 episodes of Kill La Kill and I'm not very impressed at it. I'd rank it as 6 or 7/10, but I don't get how anyone could think that it's truly "impressive" or "great." Having the same directors as TTGL doesn't excuse the poor animation quality of the show and I hate how everything's all "flashy" to obscure that fact.

The godrobe costumes are straight fetish fuel, and their transformation sequences give off a heavy G Gundam vibe (especially Ryuuko's). She's sexy as fuck and I look forward to seeing more of her.

Is it only 1-cour? I can't see it being any longer than that.

I see I'm redundant as usual. They're called "Godrobes," no need to add costumes to it.

It's 2 cours. The reason why the animation is poor is both because of that and the fact that Trigger is still a new studio with budget limitations.
But considering these are the TTGL guys it wouldn't be far fetched to expect a massive animation bump in the last few eps.

Fuckin' A, man. And they keep changing more and more English titles to Japanese, too. Obviously, the site is made for English speaking people, so this is just weeaboo bullshit in action.

I third this. Back when BakaBT was known as box torrents they listed the English first and then the Japanese titles. Some other anime sites do it as well. It's annoying as fuck trying to look up a series you know the English name of only to find out you have to put in the Japanese title because of weeaboo catering horseshit because it's so kawii to know the romanji for them. Just list the English name first, then put a divider of sorts, and then list the Japanese name. Or at least make it where you can pull up the series regardless of it's English or Japanese spelling.

I can't wait to change my system language just to do shit on MAL, in a year or so. We'll need to know each kanji and katakana/hiragana to add anything onto our lists/profile.

Black metal? I'm down for that if it's more on the ambient/instrumental side, with no ear-raping vocals.

I liked the first track there, but haven't listened to the others yet. I'm gonna pick up that 'Om' album because I'll probably enjoy that song more after hearing the full LP.

They're more like sludge metal, though.

I know. Sludge is my favorite sub-genre of metal, but I'm not so familiar with black metal, unless I dig up shit from my last.fm account.
