Are you talking about Monster? If you are then yes, I´d say its worth checking out, its probaly the least anime-ish anime i have seen, it could aswell be a real show if it wasn´t animated. Bit boring at times maybe, but the story is interesting.

Hate to break it to you, but most anime is around that in length. The ones that run longer usually start out good, and descend into terrible at two times terminal velocity.
