Cosplay seems like something I could do if I had friends that did it, and had absolutely no shame.

If you've never seen them, then chances are it's a good time for you to start.

After reading Ragnarokia's post, I decided to go ahead and get Saikano. I have not yet watched it. I also got Mind Game, which I believe is made by the same person who made Kemonozume. I haven't seen it yet either.

Speaking of which, you guys should go watch Kemonozume already. like...now.

no, yes, and no

It looks like you don't watch anything other than what's on Adult Swim. That's a shame.

Code Geass (or however its spelled) is pretty entertaining. I normally don't like mecha shows that much, but in this show (at least so far) it's more of an afterthought, which is refreshing.

I watched about ten episodes of Witchblade. I was not impressed. But I did convince a friend to watch The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, so there was a small victory there.

Death note was a good premise, but the manga author obviously didn't know how to end it. It's like the potato chip part was the best for me. That company arc sucked though. I quit watching at around episode 30. Near shouldn't have won that battle, L shouldn't have died, etc.

Well last summer i went to Osamu Tezuka land in Kyoto it cost nothing to get in and only time you had to pay was for a cinema ticket which costs you Y400 (£2) for a adult ticket and Y200 for a childs the cinema was showing back to back anime movies I watched the Black jack movie before i left because i got fed up of people telling me i look like light from Death note or kyon from Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya before leaving i went the gift shop and bought a Black Jack T-shirt which is a bit big for me oh well i wonder what Akihabara"s like...

Totally love that story.

I could see myself going to Japan for a week or two tops, but I would never live there.

I've lived here for two years, and it's nowhere near as bad as all the weird stories that Americans like to tell about here make it seem. Those really weird people are a very small percentage of the population. It's just thanks to the intrawebs that they get the most attention.

If he could read it, but not speak it I'd be surprised.

Eh, the food would probably be one of the postivie things for me, over there. Also, I hear Japan has great record stores, tons of shit from all over the world, plus japanese music is sold pretty cheap, so I'd go scouting for GISM and the Stalin, maybe some Nip-Hop too.

Well, so far I only knew one othe guy (some 14-year-old dutch guy on last.fm who obsessed over japanese music) that listened to that stuff, and some other guys on last.fm, but japmadness is the only one I could name.

Too bad their stuff is beyond impossible to find. I used to have The Stalin's discography on my computer. As for GISM, the Performance Of War bootleg = awsomeness incarnate.

No, gotta check 'em out, I guess.

Right now I'm getting Samurai Champloo (Nip-Hop, lul) and Ouran High School Host Club (>_>). Also, interested in Serial Experiments Lain. My main problem is, that paradoxicaly, now that I'm on summer vacation, I have less free time, due to my summer job, summer cottage work, and my little brother using the computer more.

The Stalin's stuff is easy to find on vinyl (well, on the internets at least), but yeah, GISM is tough to find.

No, gotta check 'em out, I guess.

Yeah, really kickin' band.

Their "Destroy Everything!" 7" is one of the most awesome underground noise recordings ever.

******Might be a spoiler for death note******
L actually did not die when they make you think he did. He knew he was going to die, so he actually wrote his name in the death note so he could live longer than that which was written by that shinigami. By doing this selfless act, he prolonged his life for i believe was 23 days longer than he should of. That gave him enough time to solve one last case.

They most certainly do. And Wendy's, and KFC, and A&W Burgers. All of which will serve you anything you want covered in teriyaki sauce.

Nip-Hop

The usual Japanese slang term for hip-hop or rap is "coco-jams."

Japan aint that bad. Ive been living here for about a year and the only bad thing is trying to finding a apartment which is a nightmare. also animes gloss over the idea of culture festivals in high school. Their fun to go to but a bastard to set up. im in the discipline commitie and we were kept busy most of the time by idiots who thinks its funny to cause mayhem. It was really stressful time three of our teachers had nervous breakdowns not mention the schools forum mods were having trouble taking care of troublemakers and had to ask us to help. ignoring all that i enjoyed the festival. But there is one more thing which annoyed me was that there is a lot of anime on tv but many of them are crap but there are a few who made me go out and buy the boxset of them but will probably be never released outside the country. One more thing does anyone else get pissed off looking at the first hundred pages of the club. Seriously who the hell would argue about if naruto was better than inuyasha or vice versa. I would rather watch the whole series of elfen lied six times than watch one series of naruto or inuyasha

Response to Anime Club 2008-06-04 14:35:51

It was a different time, a simpler time. A fucking retarded time. The mass of inuyasha fanboys (and girls) is what prompted me to leave the club the first time.

Good for you for actually going back there and reading all that. I just have to remember it.
