OH YEAH, THAT WAS SO EXCITING AND PHILOSPOHICAL!

THERE WERE ALSO A BUNCH OF POP CULTURE REFERENCES, SEX-RELATED PUNS AND METAPHORS, PLUS ROCK N' ROLL MUSIC!

I've taken baths deeper than anything Gainax's staff could write.

Not everyone's a weebo who watches all the shit that comes out of japan and calls it gold.

Now Trigun that was a great series : 3

FLCL's plot goes about as deep as being about a boy who wants to grow up before his time.

After that it's just loud noises and crazy animation.

You can take your foolish presumption and shove it up your ass, kid.

Also, it's "weeaboo". If you're trying to use a petty insult on me, at least spell it right.

Wow... figured I'd drop in here... man I miss the good days. Hello to anyone who knows who I am. For those who don't, I'm part of the history of this club. I miss it alot. I havn't had a computer in forever and when I do, in true otaku fashion, I spend all my time watching anime. I'm sure Wonko shows up every now and then so hello to you. What's the latest craze around here? Death note? Bleach? Or do we have some who are fortunate enough to watch something other than AS anime. Well I miss this place but I have very little access to the internet. Hope everything is great here.

I don't think a single regular in the club likes either show.

We're more into obscure and/or recent shows.

Myself and Mendou (as well as a few others) primarily watch older shows, but Black Lagoon has pretty widespread popularity among the members here and Kuro's into all these newfangled moe shows.

It's pretty good. Could have been better though. It's by the same person who made Rurouni Kenshin.

Yea I kinda like manga better anyhow. It's just that I insist on buying them all when I read them. It's an expensive habit. Smoking is a cheaper habit. lol

Well I'm out of here for who knows how long. I hope I get my shit straight soon. I have so much to catch up on. I'm so far behind in the webcomics I read that I don't think I'll ever catch up.
Hope to be back soon guys...

They were good anime.

I don't see what you think is particularly bad about them aside from their key demographic (well, I hated the structure of Kanon, and to a lesser extent; the other two, and Air was a bit all over the place with its plot, and didn't really tie up a bunch of loose ends),.

I was thinking of checking out Potemayo, due to that facepalm picture I've been posting every so often.

Kanon was unfunny, predictable and annoying.

Air wasn't of much interest to me.

I'm actually considering watching Clannad, though, it looks fairly entertaining.

I don't watch anime other than Adult Swim [aside from a few that I saw at a friend's house] because I don't know how to see others, nor do I care enough to look. I'm quite happy with my meaningless-fights-strung-together shows like Bleach and my try-to-be-mystery-genre-but-screw-up like Death Note.

Deep thought is for reading, really.

Well I can say I didn't see any of them coming.

Well, with the last one it sort've led you on before going for the "oh wait, it's alright, don't worry" approach.

The catch phrases were annoying, but 'uguu~' was the only one that particularly got on my nerves, since its presence didn't make a whole lot of sense. You could understand why Makoto had hers, and then you just had things like one character having a distinctive laugh, and the like.

It was an average series overall.

Some parts were good, some parts were bad.

That's pathetic and lazy.

Video stores, television and (CONTROVERSIAL STATEMENT) the internet aren't exactly hard to search, you know.

I'm quite happy with my meaningless-fights-strung-together shows like Bleach and my try-to-be-mystery-genre-but-screw-up like Death Note.

To each his own, but still lame.

Deep thought is for reading, really.

Protip: Very few good anime series involve "deep" thought.

Most of my favourites are either light-hearted fun or overblown ridiculousness.

Something doesn't have to make you think too deeply to be considered good.

The majority of anime I watch, I just watch for entertainment purposes, or for comedy of some sort.

That being said, there are series I have watched that have made me think deeper than just "MAN, THAT FIGHT WAS SO COOL. YOU KNOW WHEN THEY STARTED SHOOTING AND IT WAS ALL "PYEW PYEW" AND THEN THAT THING EXPLODED "BOOOOOOOOOOOM" AND MAN SO MANY KILLINGS IT WAS THE BEST EVER".

Hello again, Tink! If I knew you were coming, I would've spruced up the place. As far as I know, I'm the only Anime Club representative attending Anime Punch: Armageddicon III in two weeks. I've already promised to give a report.
About the latest anime, I've been watching a series on the Sci-Fi channel called "Tactics" about a teenage albino folklorist who talks to demons. I think it's set somewhere around the turn of the 20th Century, so it has the same feel as Rurouni Kenshin.

It ain't hard to find. Personally, I got into anime/manga when I went to my book store and wandered into the wrong section. I saw a manga with a plot that seemed ridiculous, and thought it would be good for a few larks. They aren't like super rare things to find, you can buy a huge selection of anime at a best buy or something.
I'm quite happy with my meaningless-fights-strung-together shows like Bleach and my try-to-be-mystery-genre-but-screw-up like Death Note.
Well, everyone starts with those, but there's just so much better out there.

Deep thought is for reading, really.

What about anime is deep thought? I watch it for the humor and awesome fighting. I seriously suggest you go to your local bookstore and/or video store and check out some animes from the 80's-90's. You'll see that they are mostly humorous and fighting. None of that fake "deepness" of FLCL and Death note.
