Well, atleast they can get away with the 6 billion Haruhi Suzumiya references in English now. GOD FUCKING DAMMIT!!!

The Voice Actor for Konata is Wendee Lee.

Who also voiced Haruhi in The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya.

How and WHY are they doing that?

There's no way that they are doing it because of all the references.

Bullshit, they probably are.

Well I don't really think I can care less.

I've already watched the series, and I don't feel the need to watch it in English.

Bandai Entertainment, and the fact Aya Hirano, the godlike, and sexy seiyu for Haruhi, is also the seiyu (unfortunately) for Konata. Infact, I noticed Satan is also in the Lucky Star dub..... aka Michelle Ruff.

No, they're doing it to capitalize further success off of The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, and makew money off of Lucky star for it.

Bullshit, they probably are.

It's Bandai, and Kadokawa. They're the biggest fascists in anime history.

That explains why they're using the same english voice actor.

Never heard of here.

Haven't seen it, but i heard it mentioned before. Might look nice.

Its quite a pretty Anime, very graphic, lots of blood im sure you know. Its a little hard to understand in the beginning but later on you figure it out.

Seems a tad overpriced.

Oh, I went to the former mentioned store and checked out the (hardly existant) Anime Section.
I saw a lot I don't know.
But they didn't have Ranma1/2.

They had (from remembering their names):

Tsubasa Chronicles
Full Metal (something)
FUCKING PAPRIKA. IT LOOKED INSANELY GOOD. (Is it worth the buy?)
Origin. This one looked interesting, not the usual broad eyed gormless figures.
Black Lagoon, or so.There seemed to be more than one season/series.

I might remember a few more, but the others where the usual mainstream shit like DBZ.

Tell me which one is worth buying.
I can get two now and maybe the rest for Christmas.

On the FYE, yes they over price their anime, but when you said $88 for Hellsing, did you mean all the episodes or one DVD? Also the FYE in the mall near me the selection is pretty big.

Yeah, I got that out on DVD some time ago.

I thought it was a pretty great OVA (quite depressing though (but then again, I suppose it has an open ending)).

Though it wasn't as good as The Place Promised in Our Early Days, which was the one that inspired me to get out Voice of a Distant Star.

He means the TV series boxset.

Regardless, $88 is far too much, since the three individual volumes are easily found for around $15 and the show is merely 13 episodes in length.

Yup, so it hardly even merits the purchase of the whole series to begin with.

Wait, boxset....Anime, right.

I have no Idea on how the Episodes are divided, so yeah, probably another 2 volumes until the next few NEW episodes are out.
Which will be next year or so.English dub will probably take a few months extra. But from previous posts, it'll probably be out faster than the previous dubs.

Also i saw Black Lagoon volume 1(limited edition) and 3.

Hm, I saw Black Lagoon volume 1 to 3 for around 30~35 Dollars.Each.

I weeped on the inside because the price for them was around $29.99....and i reached into my wallet to find only $6

That's funny, because that's how I felt after doing the same.
Just wasn't supposed to buy it, I guess.

So, has anyone here ever seen Zipang yet? I just watched the first two episodes, and I don't know why, but this really appeals to me. It probably has something to do with my love for the Navy, and my plans to join after High School...maybe something to do with the Time Travel....or possibly just the realistic historical war scenes. It also gives a nice viewpoint on the Japanese opinion of WW2, and though I slightly disagree with some things, it's nice to see how they think about it.

The art is also very good, and the VA's for the Japanese cast are pretty damn good. The only thing I can complain about is character design, which seems slightly odd to me, but I still love it all the same. Though I of course love the US Navy more than anything, the Japanese Maritime SDF is similar, and I enjoy seeing the similarities, along with the few scenes where Americans are shown. I can nitpick a few little details concerning uniforms and salutes, but hey, it's Japanese made....the stuff that I call wrong is probably right to them.

Anybody know of any other Navy themed anime that I can look for after I finish this one? I never thought that any would be made, but DAMN...this one is good.

Reminds me of the day Musicworld (God rest them, they were the only decent store on this island) got the final volume of BL in (at $33.95) and I had little more than ten bucks on me.

ROFL, wow just wow, that anime is based off a Science Fiction, and if not very similiar to it. Basically this US Navy Carrier I think is doing some naval exercises in the Pacific when they travel back in time to WWII through this fog, they have around a week to decide if they should stay and help their ancestors win the war faster or go back and leave history unchanged. I think they did a movie on it too.

There are a few Battleship anime's out there but its more along Space Battleships then Water.

I'm so happy though, that FYE I was talking about earlier has started to sell some interesting anime apparel (though to my discern half of it is Naruto, while the other half is random anime stuff), and Ramune, no longer do I have to go to any Con to get that shit man.
