Frankie's giving me the first two seasons of MI for Christmas (he decided to spoil the surprise, which is good in a way since I don't have to over-anticipate or struggle to guess my gift).

I plan on getting him the first two of Ranma, since it'd get him to quit borrowing my DVDs constantly.

Viz will get it close to the second volume of Stone Ocean in 3146 and still not have published Phantom Blood or Battle Tendency.

Fixed, no need to thank me.

I don't blame you there, my friend.

I'd buy it myself, but I'm prioritizing on UY at the moment (trying to get at least 10 or so volumes before the year ends) and I can't forget to pre-order Hellsing Ultimate III. As much as I want Ikkoku, I'll just take it slow (since it's easily found for reasonable prices) and two seasons as a present ain't a bad way to get started on an eight season show.

I hope that faggot that has my R.O.D. dvd's shows up tomorrow( i let somewhat of a freind of mine borrow the series), if not im gonna punch myself in the dick for letting someone borrow MY animu.

I lend out from time to time (I've lent Jim Cowboy Bebop, R.O.D, Lupin III, etc. and he's returned them undamaged after a reasonable period of time), but I do not do it often and I do not allow people to borrow certain titles (like unbelievably expensive stuff, really new stuff and things I'm currently watching).

No prob, i wouldn't be surprised if that happens.

I can see where they'd skip Phantom Blood due to the piss-poor art (and the fact they managed to summarize all five volumes of it in the first eight pages of Stardust Crusaders), but Battle Tendency (despite a neo-Nazi supporting character and music references up thr ass) is an essential chapter in the JJBA universe.

It's back...
That which dwells in your nightmares...
PSYK'S ANIME REVIEW!

TARGET: END OF EVANGELION.

WARNING! SPOILERS ABOUND.

Right, here's the run-down

- Shinji, when we said "grow a pair," we meant figuratively. WE DIDN'T NEED TO WATCH YOU JACK OFF TO ASUKA! *bitchslap*
- Asuka, didn't know you needed your mommy to fight.
- Why the FUCK give Shinji the choice as to the fate of the world? Still, given a choice between Gendo and Shinji, it's a pretty easy decision...
- We ALL KNEW MAYA WANTED RITSUKO. We didn't need her death - er, instrumentalization thingy - to figure it out!
- So, can we call Asuka the One Eyed Trouser Snake now? :P

Right, I fucking LOVED every single thing Misato did, right until the end. I never knew she was such a badass until she saved Shinji from the three armed guards. And the whole verbal shit-kicking that she gave Shinji was awesome. Just wish she'd pistol-whipped him a couple times to knock some sense into him.
If at all possible, this movie lowered my opinion of Shinji below where it was. He jerks off over seeing Asuka naked, then goes and feels sorry for himself as usual. His stupidity gets EVA 02 destroyed, Asuka maimed, and Misato killed. The only thing that keeps me from going on a huge tirade of how much Shinji sucks (his dumbassery even got the Third Impact going damnit!) is that, at the very end, he managed to come to his senses enough to cut off the Impact right before it finished. Course, the rest of the world was kinda DEAD, but that's beside the point.
Gendo, I refuse to believe you have a heart. I don't care that you did it all for your wife, I don't give a fuck, as far as I'm concerned you're still a heartless manipulative dick. But you were GOOD at being that, damnit!
Ritsuko, nice plan to stop Gendo.Too bad you failed when it mattered.
Rei, +1 bonus points for the final "Fuck you" to Gendo, man. Seriously. But then minus half a point for giving the decision of the world's fate to SHINJI.
Asuka, tearing down 9 (okay, maybe just 8) EVAs in a mere 5 minutes? Awesome. ALmost going berserker? Even more awesome. Surviving nine fucking Lances of Longinus, replicas or not? God.
Kaworu, GTFO. You're DEAD.
Fuyutsukei or whatever Gendo's second in command was named, fuck you. You knew Gendo's plan all along, didn'tcha? Dick.
SEELE..."Another one bites the dust" should be playing right about now.
And EVA 001...why let yourself be piloted by such a total douche?

Overall, there was a nice mix of the psychological stuff and fighting (sorry, the scene with the nine EVAs flying over Shinji, holding parts of Unit 02 in their jaws? Fucking priceless), and of course the many bewb scenes for those who enjoy that sort of thing.

I give End of Evangelion a solid 9.5/10.

END OF SPOILERS.

Response to Anime Club 2007-09-11 23:10:46

SPOILER ZOMG

Psyko, he didn't get Asuka's unit 2 destroyed....Eva 1 was infused with bake-lite, or that red plastic shit. He could only hop on whenever his mother decided to move it.

Sorry, just had to pop up and say it. I used to think he fucked that part up too.

Curious.

Are you just attempting irony in your extreme condemnation of everyone else's opinions (while still holding a hatred for the likes of Naruto/Inuyasha/etc. fanboys) in some sort of bid for faux sophisticated humour, or do you actually believe yourself to hold the correct opinion for everything?

Or perhaps it just amuses you to see the reactions of people after a put-down of their favoured items in assorted forms of media?

Or is it even possible that you do it because it is expected of you?

It's mostly those last two.

I have fun mocking things I dislike and I'm sure that people are used to that fact by now.

Not to mention the fact I honestly hated the film, and in real life, have never met anyone who enjoyed it. That aside, despite what my jabs suggest, I fully understand the film has its fans, I just tend to find their reasonings very mixed. Some loved it purely because it was filled with violent debauchery, others act like it is a masterwork of art. I found it failed both as a violent film and an artistic film.

Also, do excuse the un-Genndolike absence, but I've been a bit of a wreck lately. In fact, I just woke up and need to get back to sleep again quite soon...

I'm heading out of town on Sunday for surgery (having my wisdom teeth removed) and I'll be out of comission all week next week, so that should free up some time to relax and watch all this anime I leave lying around.

I don't really do it because its expected of me, per se, but people are used to it. Which means when I flip out and rant, it's often more amusing than shocking (with the exception of fools like Girouette and new kids, who always seem shocked and offended when I make fun of them).

Trust me, I'm not about to turn into a mindless machine spewing out dumb one-liners because the "people" demand it.

I'd rather not become a caricature.

I don't mind, since I'm pretty much only posting here for the laughs these days...

While I'm not adverse to intelligent discussion (as I'm sure you know), I prefer to poke fun at things and be over-the-top. I've got plenty of time to be serious IRL, so forum time is fun time for me.

It tends to be neither.

Rather than growing more humourous as time goes on, actions taken on the internet instead start to get tiresome.

The only time I find insults directed at me amusing is when the insults are meant by the insulter.

Umm, when Gendo acts snobby or tells someone to go kill themselves it is hilarious because he is a joke poster. Get it? It doesn't matter if he is worse than those he mocks because he is just sharing a joke with himself. Is this humor too complicated for you?

I started playing this new game called Tales of Pirates. It is based on 3 oceans: Magical(Desert), Ascaron(Grassland), and Deep Blue(Snow). When I first started it was kinda boring, but after the first couple of levels I was addicted to it. There are quests, tons of monsters, armours, weapons.

There are 4 different characters: Carsise, Ami, Phyllis, and Lance
Each of the characters has different classes:

The character starts at lvl 1 and you do the Beginner's Quest which will level you to lvl 5. From then on you kill monsters till 9 then you do a quest for your 1st advancement. Then you train and have fun, fight people, make money, do events, quests, and when you get to lvl 40 you go through the 2nd advancement.

Ami(female) starts at Herbalist --->

1st Advancement_______________2nd Advancement
From Herbalist: Changes to either Cleric or Seal Master

Phyllis(female) starts at either Hunter, Explorer, or Herbalist --->

1st Advancement________2nd Advancement
From Hunter: changes to Sharpshooter
From Explorer: changes to Voyager
From Herbalist: changes to Cleric or Seal Master

Lance starts at either Hunter, Explorer, or Swordsman --->

1st Advancement________2nd Advancement
From Hunter: changes to Sharpshooter
From Explorer: changes to Voyager
From Swordsman: changes to Crusader

Carsise starts at Swordsman ---->

1st Advancement_____2nd Advancement
Swordsman: changes to Champion

There are vast seas to explore with 12 different ships to use. There are many havens and islands across the world of ToP.

There is also a place where you can buy items with cash for the game, including fairies that help you in battle, weapons, armour, skills, fruits, potions, and many other items.

This game is very fun and I think everyone should play it. The game is free to play, but you gotta download it Here.

There are a couple of servers, but you should only play on 1 because your character data doesn't go to different servers.

If you decide to play I'm on Penguin Isle (which is the server).

My in-game name is Helghast.

And gendo, if you don't like this amv, anime or band you have a really suckie taste in anime! I didn't say that, when you say for example(This is just an example) "I have watched 50 animes" You think of animes like rurouni kenshin, naruto, bleach, one piece, fma, DN angel, DBZ all most instantely, you think of the generic animes that are really long, not the 13 episodes of hellsing or shit.

I hate naruto, the dragon ball series, the gundum series and girl animes that you watch and I even admit bleach isn't that good, I have seen a lot of animes and I KNOW bleach isn't the best, it probably is one of the crappiest animes I watch, but yet for some strange reason i'm addicted, I don't even like it that much yet I can't stop watching.
