We were discussing (i.e. fanboying) it several pages back.

It is hotblood, fan-service and a hint of Hiyama rolled into a single series, redeeming Gainax once again (as for the Evangelion movies... I am yet to find out how).

You did? I thought you told me to just not start anything.

And I like Samurai Champloo but the ending could have been better. Although I liked how they solved everyones' problems at once, they didn't have to split them up.

(At least Animax kept to the original language despite silly subtitled names in Chinese.)

I'm really getting into Samurai Champloo. Just yesterday afternoon, I started watching it from the first episode and forward, and now I'm up to episode 18.

Well, I'm taking a break. I'll probably go watch Slayers for a bit with some pizza with anchovies and breadsticks on the side. : )

I think Slayers is more fun by chewing on a slab of beef or pork. XP

Holy crap!! That was an awesome opening, which makes it astonishing how badly 4Kids butchered it. How the heck does any right-minded person turn Kobe beef into dog meat?

Because American shows allow 30 seconds to a minute for an intro compared to Japan (which has approx. 1.5 minutes worth of opening/ending) for their shows.

At least Fukuda has some good music sense in him.

How the heck does any right-minded person turn Kobe beef into dog meat?

And they changed wine into water (XFD).

Just do a search on YTMND with the keyword "4kids" and see some interesting comparisons, both audio and visual based.

I watched Neo Tokyo last night and again this evening. It's very good. You guys should see it. It's a collection of 3 shorts. One is by Rintaro, the other by Yoshiaki Kawajiri, and the last is by Katsuhiro Otomo. They all have great artwork especially the one by Rintaro. It has some excellent imagery. I even showed that one to my mom. I enjoyed each of the 3 equally overall, though.

Also, I finished episodes 7-13 of Slayers. I noticed a similarity between a certain recurring tune in the show and the song Larke's Tongues in Aspic Part 1 by King Crimson. If you listen to that song, you may know which song in the show I'm talking about. It's just similar to the beginning of the King Crimson song, not the whole thing. Also, I'd say you should listen to King Crimson even if you haven't seen Slayers (King Crimson is one of my favorite bands). Their 40th anniversary is coming in 2 years and they still kick ass.

Also, I lolled at "Pacifist Cruuuuush!!!".

Yes, Neo Tokyo is quite good.

My mom is open minded about anime, but my sister is not at all. I remember getting some anime DVDs for christmas a couple years ago and my sis said something like "oh, more porn." I was like "what the hell?" She said "that's basically what it is."

So, according to generalizations, I guess every anime is a combination of super violent sadistic filth, pornography, and a kids' show.....what?

I just watched episode 22 of Samurai Champloo.....lolwtf. I guess they were just messing around with that one. a "what if" episode or something like that. Either way, it was pretty cool and fairly humorous.

How much does that matter?

The forum wasn't done up at all in the graphics department, and there wasn't exactly that many posts in it.

Creating a new one just like it would be a cinch.

Why don't you try making it look good this time around?

Like... By adding graphics, and making a new layout.

Or just taking one off of the many sites that offer them for free.
