You still made a great sig, and I plan to use it on the /A/'s forums.

Proptip: All the cool kids buy Ran-chan first, seeing as she's the hardest to find on places other than eBay or import shops. Leaving the more common ones for last means less of a headache when it comes time to complete the collection.
I used amazon to get Ran-Chan. Ebay either has: 1. None at all, or 2. Some, but at a really high price.

Did you get the 1/8 scale Kotobukiya one?

Yeah, it tooks me months to find one on eBay, and then I managed to find it at one of the local stores.

Seven words per post minimum, please. Remember that.
Friday at 5:00PM, my order will arrive, it shipped out of Winchester around 44 minutes ago.
In the mean time, I will probably re-watch the first Urusei Yatsura movie for the sake of getting back in a UY mood.

I have the first two episodes of the PBS dub, and it is epic.
Lum's psuedo-European accent is dead sexy.
I also want to hear BBC 3's dub. BBC 3 had all of the best shows ever (The Mighty Boosh, Monkey Dust, Little Britain and of course this).

That's a given, but European accents = doubleplusgood
I never saw Little britain but i used to watch monty pythons flying circus....good time's.
Little Britain is the tits, well, at least series one was.
Series two and three were less amazing, and Monty Python = epic win.
hey is anyone watching the anime "blood plus"? it looks really good.

Well then what are you waiting for, arse feck?! Get on with it!
I loved the second season of Monty python. The lumber jack song was epic.
Yes, very yes.

No, very no.
I find vampire stories to be incredibly boring, and Blood Plus looks just as mediocre as the rest.
I'm back from my longest anime session ever. Well I had to do somthing while I was stuck with my family for 1 month. The rest of the time I was dead but i got better.

Aw, muffin. God forbid you spend quality time with your relatives.

Not laughing.

Death Note and Akira are epic.
As for your whole bit about Akira needing sequels and/or a TV series, no, that would make it suck.
And I saw them both here along with 300.

I don't give a fuck who gave you the link, you're not to post such things in my club.
I wouldn't mind a short high quality OVA Akira series following the manga, maybe 3-6 episodes depending on the length. It has been 20 years, so probably all new voice actors would have to be chosen...though having some come back as other older characters would be nice fanservice.

When phrased like that, I can see the idea working on some level.
I'd say six 50 or so minute OVAs would be enough to do a fairly faithful adaption of the manga, and the visuals would no doubt be pleasing to eye given the calibur of the series and the options available thanks to modern animation techniques.
The real question would be of the music, unless they could re-use the original score or get Yamashiro Shoji to write a new one, it just wouldn't be the same.
God damn my friend is annoying sometimes. He rarely has ever seen/heard about any movie I talk about. Really annoying.
And I was just talking to him about the Hellsing OVA 3 that came out and the Akira OVA, and he is like "never heard of it"...even though i've mentioned the movie to him a number of times. He has seen Hellsing though.
I don't see how any anime fan worth anything can not have seen it. It is the ultimate Anime Movie...it was fucking Absolute Vodka's Absolute Anime!!
I just found out that my local library has like 5 Akira novels.
Should I read them? I heard they were classics, but they might take up too much time...
What should I do?

Win.

Take up too much time? THESE ARE MASTERPIECES OF MODERN FICTION, WHO GIVES A FUCK HOW LONG IT TAKES TO READ THEM?!
What should I do?
Read them, obviously.

They won't take up too much time. You could probably read them all in one afternoon...maybe an hour per novel. You should make sure you can get all 6, or atleast make sure you aren't skipping one, cus that can throw you way off.

Well..they are numbered and in english, and worst case scenario...I have a $25 B&N gift card that I could use for the rest.
I guess I'll pick 'em up over vacation.

$25 will get you...one...if it is discounted.

Yep, they're really pricy books.
About $24.95 USD a pop.

I'm assuming you're talking about Naruto. Y'know what really bugs me about that show? What kind of ninja wears bright orange/blue, and yells all the time? He never even did a sneak attack on anyone. He just charges in.

I have the Nintendo 64 game for that. The world was pretty big with barely anything to do (by Nintendo 64 standards of course).

Roffle, my brother in law has the same thing. Whenever Naruto happens to come on if I'm at his place, I hear "Yeah, because ninjas TOTALLY wear orange. That TOTALLY blends in." Well, then again, it might in Florida.
Anyways, I am now under the curse of DirectTV.
Pros and cons as opposed to Comcast, so far:
Pros...
- Chiller, a channel dedicated to horror movies.
- Access to movies three hours before normal.
- Access to movies on premium channels which I didn't have before.
- Probably won't make as much of a career out of sucking ass as Comcast.
- BUILT-IN GAMES BABY!
Cons...
- ...how the hell don't we have ABC?
- No more On Demand, which is where I could watch Vampire Princess Miyu and Shingu.
- Harder to navigate, though that's just because I'm not used to it.
- AS anime show up three hours earlier now, so when I get up at 2, I MIGHT get the last of two episodes of Inuyasha. (hey, it might suck, but now it's my only daily anime fix)
God, I tell you what, I'm a generous guy. Remember how I said my friend traded me the whole series, OAVs, and movies for Ranma 1/2 for my Grave of the Fireflies dvd? Well, I loaned it out to one of my classmates, who has promised to see them all by the end of spring break. This means that she will have from about 2:37 PM PDT on this past Thursday until about 8:00 AM PDT this coming monday, to watch the entire series, all the OAVs, and the movies.
