I distinctly remember that, even though the English version had a big ol' all-ages stamp on the front cover. Hell, a few covers even clearly showed Lina's nipples, if my horrid memory serves me well.

Out of all the series I own every episode of, SAC is the only one I have yet to finish watching, and I've had it since December.

Well, I've decided that I'm gonna get back to reading manga, I haven't read in about a week. Probably start with Angelic Days (a serious favorite of mine because all of nine people have read it) and then move on to Samurai Champloo (super underrated and super short).
