Haha. You do know I'm joking right. I saw Gendo and others being all serious in this thread so I decided to throw everyone off.

Someone being serious? I think you are mistaken seriousness for vague interest that last only until someone starts talking about anime, then it's all sunshine and loli-pops (PUN!!). Action packed animes and random animes, along with just being alive nowadays, has shorten our attention spans just long enough to get mad at someone for maybe a page, unless that anger is rekindled by someone being a douche.

However, in the case of people like Wonko, every instance of their existence rekindles their anger, so it never goes away, and then warps their perception of what is/isn't funny and what is/isn't serious....though it is hard to tell the difference by then. Like saying "Jesus Hates You!". Someone may find that mean, others might find it funny and playful.

I blame the parents.

Every time I see LLStarks post here, I get angry. Doesn't matter what he posts about. I see his name as the last person to post before I even click the thread, and I'm already prepared to tear him his dozenth new one.

Who are you to talk? Have you talked about anime at all since you started posting here? Your first post was about NOT joining...and by now you may have already lost that privilege, though I don't know if that has ever happened before, but we could always use a good PRECEDENT!

Yay for cheap Leekspin ripoffs

You can blame freewebs for the 750kb size limit...the bad looping and lameness was all l me though. I have no clue how to make the sound not stop for that breaf moment.

Is there a Kirby anime? Cus you need 10 animes. And if you anyone posts 10 animes and a character, if no one has anything to say, then they are normally in. Just say your character and that you are part of the anime club in your sig, and start posting about anime, but keep the talks good.

We've already had plenty of "Has anyone ever heard of Naruto?" or "Full Metal Alchemist sounds like Full Metal Panic (both sound like Full Metal Jacket)"

Your list has some good older animes, so you should do fine.

Actually, Kirby did air in Japan before it aired in America. Under the name "Hoshi no Kirby".

And according to Anime News Network, the producers are registered under Japanese companies and directors.

I'm not sure I've gushed enough about Vampire Princess Miyu yet, but I'll take a chance and move on. I've come up with a new event idea (don't worry, you don't have to participate if you don't want to, it's just a decent source of discussion. At least, I think it is.)

FIGHTING MATCH-UPS

Basically, suggest two people (preferably from different anime) who you would like to see paired off in a fight, and we discuss who we think would win.

Alright, here's my first suggestion:

Yusuke Urameshii (Yu Yu Hakusho) or Inuyasha? (Inuyasha)

Personally, I think it would be Yusuke. Even with the Backlash Wave and the newly-discovered Adamant Barrage, Inuyasha wouldn't be able to take Yusuke if he can't HIT him, and as he's demonstrated time and again, Inuyasha's nowhere NEAR being extremely fast. Granted, Yusuke's not super-fast either (like Hiei), but he's still faster than Inuyasha, and I think with his Spirit Energy, he'd be able to take Inuyasha out.
HOWEVER.

***SPOILERS***

After Yusuke's Mazoku blood has awakened, he has a demonic aura, so it's possible that he'd make some stupid move like using his demon energy to fire a blast at Inuyasha, which would lead to the Backlash Wave and Yusuke getting torn a new asshole (again, provided he didn't just use his speed to get out of the way.)

***END SPOILERS***

Alright, what do you guys think?

By the way, I'll post some more match-ups to get started.

Genkai (Yu Yu Hakusho) Vs. Kagome (Inuyasha)

Miyu (Vampire Princess Miyu) Vs. Alucard (Hellsing)

Alucard (Hellsing) Vs. Vampire Hunter D. (Vampire Hunter D)

Super Vandread (Vandread) Vs. Wing Gundam Zero Custom (Gundam Wing (Endless Waltz?))

Van Flyheight (Zoids: Chaotic Century) Vs. Bit Cloud (Zoids Zero)

Kenshin Himura (Rurouni Kenshin/Samurai X) Vs. Inuyasha (Inuyasha)

Edward Elric (Full Metal Alchemist) Vs. Major Kusanagi (Ghost in the Shell)

In that case, I've got a couple of interesting matches voiced by Steven Jay Blum:

Mugen (Samurai Champloo) vs Spike Spiegel (Cowboy Bebop)

Roger Smith (Big O) vs Cunningham Hume (IGPX)

and one that has nothing to do with voice-actors:

Cyborg 009 (Cyborg 009) vs Major Motoko Kusanagi (Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex)

For consistency, that would mean that members like coycoy would have to choose another character because Link (Legend of Zelda) has not appeared in any official animations whatsoever (excluding bastardisation by NoA a decade or two ago).

If Big O went up against the Velshtein mech, it would probably be a little one-sided. The Megadeus is armed to the teeth and towers over the racing machine, which might have the speed advantage if it functions well enough on the streets of Paradigm City.

Yeah, Ed DOES always seem to win.

Here's a few more for ya, these ones mech-centered. By the way, the Van Flyheight and Bit Cloud matchups mentioned before involve the powers of their Zoids by the end of each series.

DeathSoarer* (Zoids: Chaotic Century) Vs. Berserk Fury (Zoids Zero)
(**SPOILERS* In reference to the fully-powered Deathsoarer awakened at the end of the series, not the one used by Prozan originally before the Guardian Force came into being.***END SPOILERS***)

EVA-01 against the Big-O?
If there would be a 'similarities' pairing, I had EVA-01 and RahXephon in mind actually.

Well, anyway.

(Assumed pilots: EVA-01 = Ikari Shinji, Big-O = Roger Smith + R.Dorothy)
Though the EVA-01 has the advantage of high dexterity, the infamous Absolute Terror Field and a large weapon selection shown (let's say: the SRW Alpha 3 loadout for EVA-01):

EVA-01
EVA-use Handgun
Progressive Knife
Pallet Rifle
Positron Rifle
Magoroku E-Sword

EVA-01 (Berserk)
Berserk (Rampage)

OR

EVA-01 Type-F
Progressive Dagger
Mastema - Pallet Rifle
Mastema - E^2 Missile
Mastema - Dual Saw
Impact Bolt

============================

As for the Big-O's weaponary and its Anti-Beam-Coating:

Eye Beam
Moby-Dick Anchor
Missile Party
Chrome Buster
Sudden Impact / Triple-Cylinder Sudden Impact
O Thuder
Final Stage

============================

So judging by the weapon loadout, the EVA-01 is at a clear advantage due to its heavy long range destructive potential from the start whereas the Big-O's weapons cannot do enough damage to break through its AT-Field with only the conventional weapons alone.

However, if the Big-O manages to get within melee range, the Big-O has a good chance to strike using Sudden Impact repeatedly which should be more than enough to break the AT Field. It would be, however, useless if EVA-01 defends itself with the Magorok E-Sword and if it strikes, even the armour playing on the Big-O's arms cannot withstand it.

Looks like EVA-01 is at the advantage unless the Final Stage is deployed early enough and completely knocks out the EVA-01, berserker mode included.

...

And no, despite the fandom backing up the Wing Gundam Zero, the Big-O does have Beam Coating as previously mentioned.

After three shots from the Twin Buster Rifle, the Wing Gundam Zero would be limited to shoulder machinecannons, two beam sabers and melee (which is practically useless against Big-O due to size difference).

If Wing is ever to stand a chance, it would have to be a direct hit to the cockpit using a beam saber or self destructing itself on the cockpit either way.

Ichigo from (bleach) vs Itachi uchiha from (naruto)

Akatsuki rules.

Ichigo and Itachi's speeds are about the same, though his Bankai's speed is probably quicker. Itachi has the ninja abilities, like Kage Bushin and substitution. Though, of couse, Ichigo would be a death god, and Itachi couldn't see him, but lets just say that doesn't matter. The biggest factor would be the Mangekyou Sharingan, because if Ichigo looked into Itachi's eyes it would be over. I think if Ichigo put on his mask, he would be able to take Itachi down, though he only has a few seconds, and Itachi could use the substitution or other ninja techniques to avoid it.

So, at least for now, I would have to give it to Itachi, though comparing their speeds is kind of tough, since is Itachi able to move as quick as flash steps?
,
I'd rather see Byakuya vs. Itachi or Gaara, just because his shikai reminds me of Gaara's sand.

Pfft...Byakuya could kick Orochimaru's ass. Naruto with the red chakra form of the fox wouldn't even stand a chance against even Byakuya's shikai. His little demonic fox form that he fights Orochimaru with was strong and quick, but Byakuya would never give him the time to charge for the big blast attack, he would just Shunpo behind Naruto and run his sword through him. Byakuya also uses demon arts in battle, and could bind him with Six Light Rod Prison or just blow a hole through him with Byakurai.
