Yep, that's why I usually only buy anime that I REALLY want...and usually just for collection purposes, like Excel Saga Imperfect Collection, FLCL, and Hellsing.

Atleast when you buy in "bulk" the price per episode is cheaper. Since you can get the Excel Saga collection for around $60, and it is 26 episodes, so that is less than $2.50 an episode, or $10 a disc.

Of course, once you get into shows with multiple full seasons, like Slayers or YuYuHakusho, then even if each episode relatively cheaper, the total cost is still pretty high.

YAY for China though! Got Slayers, Slayers Next, and Slayers Try for 9 bucks total! And eight episodes per disc! BOOYAKASHA!

Hah, you got a good point. Though chinese copies are a bit of a gamble considering that the quality is inconsistent, not to mention the frequent odd subtitles which will get in the way of the less Japanese-speaking viewers.

Quality isn't a problem I've seen, since it isn't like a movie with live people and probably just some camera rip. The main problem is them not having english subtitles, but I just saved a about $110, so having to try another place and buying it over again wasn't that big of a deal. Could always just buy maybe one season first, then go back if it was worth it.

Really? Some of the shows I got had fuzziness every now and then.

Funnily enough, the ones I know of do have English Subtitles, albeit not accurate; as if no research on spelling was done.

Famous Example: No = Do not want

Funny stuff, good find.

Well, last night was fun. My friend Jessi caught me reading the newest issue of Shojo Beat at Coles and mocked me, then I left town to visit with friends. We spent the night watching an ungodly amount of R.O.D., Ranma 1/2 and Haruhi. Just got back a few minutes ago, labored to fix the internet connection and picked up where I left off with Haruhi.

Thus far, it's been a great series. I can't wait for the dub, here's hoping it's good.

My friend and I in China use to spend almost every Friday staying up until Saturday watching Ranma 1/2, Slayers, etc. We also played FF7 and FF8. Not going to sleep feels like it adds a whole extra day to the weekend...cus it kind of does.

I've been "spreading" some "anime" around different websites, and it has done surprisingly well. Of couse, I only chose some of the "best" stuff to share.

great show, crap ending, not nearly long enough for me. Although I think the funding for the show was cut or something.

Anyway, I think the show was very good as well as the manga.

Those days ended for me after Juniour year. I moved away, and the Ranma 1/2 was his...though we already watched it all. And my friends here aren't that fun...mostly cus of controlling parents. One of them kind of smells, so sitting next to him for hours isn't something I'd want to do, plus he gets overly excited. And the other friend seems to only be available late in the evening, then has to be home like at 10, so that gives like 2 hours..which isn't even worth it.

Well, anyway... I still find the prices and quality of Japanese goods horrible in the UK. The only imports are no better either.

Did I mention that the overall services there are rude (makes my self-managed stay in Kyoto seem like paradise)?

Man, sounds pretty rough. I'm glad my friends have wide open schedules and proper hygeine.

Well, tomorrow heralds a return to the bitter weekday routine, but I've luckily got Friday to Sunday to waste finishing off my new DVDs, not to mention weeknights (except Tuesday, because nothing keeps me from watching House).

Since the internet decided that anime and videogame fanart are the same thing.

Really and truly, I never understood it either.
