Yeah, i've watched a couple episodes of it. An older anime, and a very long series. Is it even still running?

It used to be pretty popular from what I remember, but now it seems to be slipping into the waves of anime obscurity (with American audiences, anyway).

Which reminds me, I love a lot of older yet not-so-popular anime -- the hype that's put on newer anime is kind of ridiculous. I feel like it's losing it's touch now, when I compare the old with the new. There are still some goodies to be had, but most I have noticed are lacking in many areas.. more concentrated on being pretty over a solid, interesting storyline and multi-dimensional characters. Anyone else get this feeling?

they made animated series of spawn and a badass looking manga

The pwn is back in Spawn.^_^ Loved the live movie, FTW.

I saw one at a GameStop for DVD; should've bought it..........

Hell yes it is :P!!

I've seen two or three different live action Guyver movies and they all SUCKED, in a way that makes you keep watching and laughing.

Didn't realize he was an anime-manga character first....I remember seeing one of the movies when I was 5 or 6; all I can remember is he was similar to Swamp Thing meets Venom...am I at least partially right?

OMFG; Skywalker was in one? Geez..........sorry about his luck, as it sounds like these movies were pretty fricking bad...........

Heard of it, never watched it though. The girl/guy person with the water right?

I had posted this on another thread - IT CREEPS ME OUT. I was a little harsh about it, though; I had wished for the entire NG Ranma 1/2 Club to turn into transexual pandas..............sorry............ The premise just sounds horribly creepy.

Oh, I know I've been posting w/o being an official club member, but I don't think I've caught up on enough anime-manga yet. Sorry about that. ^_^

In fact, here they did promote Inu Yasha by saying that it was from the same author as Ranma^^
So I think Ranma is or maybe was very popular and quite a lot of ppl know it.

At least I do and I like it (got all 38 mangas^^)

Sweet line up. Hm, that reminds me, I just recently had my own personal Hayao Miyazaki fest. Damn, he is a genius! I especially love "Nausicaa" and "Castle In The Sky", such fantastic movies. ;)

Ah hell, since when does anyone fully read the rules. Rules are lame.

Good to see the place hasn't collapsed in on it's self. Heard that sir trivia has been keeping things a-float while Tink has been gone, for a while, long while at that. Was told by Brew and a few others about it all. I must say putting all of the rules and member list on wiki was a good idea, probably saves alot of time when updating the list.

I don't have a single clue who alot of you are but I am me, hello.

Oh, I've got these anime theme'd games so far:

MS Saga: A new dawn
GITS: SAC
Inuyasha: SOTCM & Feudal Combat
FMAs 1 & 2(Second one has better graphics but the first one has a better story line, longer too)
Lupin III
Mobile Suit Gundam: Encounters in space & Gundam VS Zeta Gundam
Samurai Champloo: Sidetracked
Naruto: Clash of Ninja

What anime based games does everyone else have?

I got Gungrave, Narutimate Hero 2, and Narutimate Hero 3. I have some older PS1 games like Digimon World 2...but don't play them.

My friend brought over the Clash of Ninja game for the Gamecube....eh....it was ok...even he thought that after a little while it got boring, especially after he beat the story mode.

Yeah, it was a massive let down. Although Naruto influenced by the nine taled fox demon will get you some crazy combos, enough to earn the Hokage rank.

So, who else has seen this? It is quite informative. It has two episodes. One of each of his series'.

It has a behind the scenes thing (Which is actually the main part of the dvd), and it is quite informative. It doesnt offer too much technique in the 3d area, so I wouldnt offer it to advanced anime artists, but it does go into 3d construction for 2d models, so I think it is probably for intermediate animators. It was entertaining.

To be honest, I only watched a few minutes of shadowskin (3d cel shaded) and understanding chaos (2d), but from what I saw, understanding chaos was great. Shadowskin was alright, but it had a few rought edges, and the animation was not very smooth, like in the beginning when the character is running from the helicopter. It has a very linear run cycle.

So does anyone else know of any good basic how-tos? Even though they usually offer information that anime fans and animators already know, they often add tips which can be very useful.

I suggest that you watch it. From what I saw of understanding chaos, I was reminded of GITS: SAC. A short clip reminded me of outlaw star. You will know what I mean if you ever watch it.

Sorry for the double-post, but I must let you know that Ichigo Kurosaki from Bleach is already taken, and since you couldn't have meant Ichigo Momomiya from Tokyo Mew Mew, you'll have to choose someone else. Here is a list of characters already chosen.
