In the interest of milking every last minute of sleep, I roll out of bed and head out the door in literally five minutes each weekday morning. So breakfast is usually a mix of nutri grain, granola bars, and hot rods that I bring to work.
Haha, christ, I always do this. Gotta remember that there are more pages after the one that I first start reading. You kids talk too much,

Stereotypes against Canadians
We don't eat as much maple syrup as you would think, we only export it.
As far as I know just as many people eat bacon as in US.
And to add a few to destroy an confusion:
We do not all live in the mountains ( >=( jmbt02)
We do say "eh" alot but that's just habit.
We do not ride mooses (meese to be precise).
And our beer tastes fantastic.

This would have been SO much funnier if I were Canadian ;P

Yeah, I never got that one. I've never heard anyone refer to Canadian Bacon here. We just call that ham. Bacon is bacon.

All true. Also...
No one in all of goddamn Canada says aboot. In the maritimes, they say 'aboat', but that's about it. I have no effin' idea where this one comes from.

They say "aboot" on this show called degrassi (i used to watch it, sue me). Do you guys say "sorey" though? (as in sorry).

It's the mono types I'm not so sure aboot...

Lol WHAT?! I've never heard that pronunciation ever. Many of us are really sarcastic though, so if we do apologize we stretch it out in a sarcastic manner. (Sooooo- rryyyyyyy >.>)
Haha degrassi. What a Canadian show. Never liked it though. Jpod on the other hand is awesome. Anyone here heard of Douglas Coupland? Very funny...actually...only funny Canadian author.

Yeah, I got that book on the airport when flying to Africa. It was really great. I like how he managed to get himself in the story.
I haven't read any other Douglas Coupland books though but maybe I should... someday.

Yeah, I got that book
I think he ment the T.V. show. I've only ever saw a short film loosely based on the characters and I liked it.

Ok, I didn't know there's a TV show called the same thing.
He said "author" though so I still think he meant the book. Correct me if I'm wrong Natio!

It has the same name because it's based on the book.

I read the book first and then saw the TV show. I was referring to both :P
Canadian Stereotypes
Someone living in Australia I was talkin' to online explained to me how she thought the Canadian Education System only teaches up to grade 9... and none of us apparently finish high school. :|

I drink 'bout 3 a day. Mostly chocolate and strawberry. ^^

Reminds me when I used to drink Nesquick strawberry milk. I dunno If this is similar, but I liked that stuff..
Synced Flash Animations
Don't you guys just love watching an animation that has a fantastic audio score that's synced by the animation. I just love it. Just seeing how they tie in the whole sound and animation together, makes the animation turns out so nice.
I would like to do something like that. Anyone wanna collaborate on a nice little piece of synced animation, give me a ring sometime.
"Out with the old...in with the new!"
Thank god for this, since the NEW is so much better.
Level 22
Rudy, I know what you mean, it does kind of give a really nice touch. If I had a computer that had the ability to draw in Flash, I would...but sadly I don't. All I'm left with is this crap-bag that only has a mouse pad in replacement for the mouse.
Back on track, syncing with music is basically subliminal messaging...in the sense that it can make something look ten times better than what it would have looked like out of sync with anything. I feel like that's the same thing with people playing games without sound. I can't play anything that has no sound, since it's too hard to concentrate on the game you see but don't hear, where it then loses it's "realistic" touch.

FORUM AVATAR
I'm coding a forum at the moment and I'd like it to be somewhat original.
So what do you think about instead of having the usual 100x100 avatars, have something like 50x200 avatars? I think it'd be pretty cool. But maybe too unusual.
At 5/6/08 11:47 PM, Rudy wrote: Synced Flash Animations
Well there's really two types if you think about it. One that bases its animation the exact sound effects / beats of the song, or whether they just slow down with the music and vice versa.
I have some that are based off the beat, Session / Funkness.
Advertising, yay!
Although I'd be a hypocrite towards myself since I hate people that pop to robotic noises...
At 5/7/08 05:16 AM, GuyWithHisComp wrote: FORUM AVATAR 50x200
I dunno, what could you possibly fit into that amount of space though? Unless an images is directly a vertically rectangle, it'd be pretty hard to get something logical to fit.
But I'd still like to see something original like that.
English Sterotypes
They are all true, every morning i pop out of my quilted cover and put on a jumper, wooly hat and trousers. I grab a crumpet and run out of my little cottage in the country into my mini. I then make my way through the vast numbers of roundabouts and country roads to my job as a barman at the cricket grounds. Everyone enjoys themselves as i pour out ye olde cider to all the old men with moustaches. I then buy some fish and chips on the way home from Freddy.
User Interface
Anyone ever picky about keyboards or mice?
I refuse to order a keyboard and mouse online. I need to go to the store and play with every single one. I usually will be at the store for about an hour, exploring each of my different options. The keyboard needs to have a number pad, function keys that are equal to/larger than normal keys, home and end buttons next to each other (not stacked), a large backspace button, and music/sound controls that at least mute/unmute the music.
When it comes to mice, I need to scroll the wheel. Frankly I'll take any mouse, laser, optical, or mouseball. But it sure as hell should have the nicest scroll wheel. I am also not a fan of scroll wheels that go left or right as well.
Hi there!

I agree. I overuse my scroll wheel and use it all the time. Sometimes when at school I end up with a mouse with no scroll wheel and I get frustrated when I can't scroll.
So I have to sneakily swap it with one that does.
Frustration
I'm feeling frustrated >:(
I've spent around 12 hours working on game and I keep getting confused now. I've spent an additional 2hours where I've done something and then gone "No, no, no! Thats not right!" and get rid of it all. Its really frustrating me now.
Anyone got any tips to 'unwind'?

I had a bad experience with a mouse with a smooth scroll-wheel. You know - one that doesn't click or anything. Since then I always try to mess around with them to make sure that they have nice responses so you know easilly how many clicks up or down you've gone. I also try to keep it fairly simple - MOUSE1, MOUSE2, MOUSE3, MWHEELUP and MWHEELDOWN are the only inputs I should have to make.
Never had the same thing with keyboards, though. There's only so far you can go wrong with one, compared to meeses.

Shower, nap, a walk around town, a different hobby for an hour or two.
Or hit things with sticks. Its what I do. I'm sure the people in the flat above me are greatful for the mesh heads on my drums.
