HO HO HOPE you become a Newgrounds Supporter this year!
We're working hard to give you the best site possible, but we have bills to pay and community support is vital to keep things going and growing. Thank you for considering!

Well, it would work, and in this particular case there wouldn't be much more code.. However, you never know when you want to reuse loads of code for actions available through the right click menu, or use a complex function (with parameters) that you use somewhere else in the Flash, so that's why I would like to know if there's another solution ;P
Doesn't seem like there is a way though, I find absolutely nothing in the help files about arguments/parameters in the ContextMenuItem class :/

Your silly. :P
Fav part of the getin' to know thing
My fav artists are... difficult. They tend to change every few months. I really enjoy MindChamber's, BoMToons', The-Swain's, and Luis' stuff.
But my love will always be with Tom Fulp in his early days. Ahh, those first few Pico games along with that seal clubbin' click game always crack me up.
For programmers... lol, never thought of it... Ah! The dude with the monkey display pic -- MoonKey! He did the coding for Jazza's PALIDIN game. ^^
Also, MULLET! MULLET! MULLET! MULLET! Their a pretty cool fish eh guys? :D
Love you too Luis. :3
Dammit, I thought we were talking about the hair mullet
I was going to get a mullet once.....I was really glad I didn't.
Getting to Know You
Hello John :D
Real Name: Jeremy
Age: 17 / almost 18
Short Bio: I am senior in high school and I live in West Grove, PA. I started Flash in 2004 due to my best friend's older brother experimenting with Flash 4; he was the first person in my community that I know of to use Flash. I wanted to go to college at Kutztown University for Graphic Design like Jeff/JohnnyUtah did, but I realized that a teaching degree combined with an art minor will open more doors. Thusly, I am going to Millersville instead for education. I like drawing, playing guitar (badly), playing video games, watching anime, reading books (holy shit, I know), and cooking (again, holy shit). My favorite NG artists are ZekeySpaceyLizard, rtil, Stamper, and Lu-lu. Game developers I like are TrueDarkness, Skeik-Sprite and monkokio.
Old-ish Faves anyone?
One of my favorite Ben Folds Five songs (not to mention my favorite piano song aside from Moonlight Sonata), done beautifully. Ed Skudder always has great artwork, fluid animation, and flawless technique. One of my favorite artists on NG.

It's because despite all his AS knowledge, he can't work the crop tool in photoshop.

Mines better.......
Anyway new rule. Ya only can talk about mullets if the page number is an ODD number.
Their... I has created order. :P
SO the weekend is finally here (for me at least) and I have no plans except an ol' friend's b-day party his sunday... LAME! >:(
Ash Trays
I love my friend Darryl's logic. He goes out to buy an ash tray cause we're bored of using an ol' mug we found in my room. Anyway, he goes out to buy one and finds four different ones he likes so he buys all of 'em! Now I'm looking at 4 very odd ash trays from some oddball store in the local.
Ya know what this means? We're goin' to have no problems ashing now. 8)
Oh, and Lu. Just in cause all this mullet talk really is tickin' ya off... sorry. I'll admit it gets annoying sometimes.
Though I still enjoy it... :P

Luis doesn't like us talking about mullets? Dang it, I thought that was such an interesting topic
Ashtrays eh? Well...now you could invite a couple of your friends over and have a party, and you wouldn't even have to share the ashtray

Either do I. I say you can only talk about Mullets if the page number is a prime number. You have to wait till page 1061.

We should be able to think of a more creative use for ashtrays than just holding ash :s
Anyway, I was looking through General because I'm procrastinating and this forum is slow as hell, when I found this.
If it's for real, and it really gets through, then it spells disaster for all the non-commercial (and indeed commercial) developers and animators around here. What do you guys make of it?

That sounds like the most pointless law imaginable. What is the point of it?

When I read that article I thought it had a lot of bias in it, so I looked up another source. It's not as bad as they make it sound. I mean it's not good, but it's not like it's OMG CERTAIN DOOM if passed. Plus, there's a slim chance it will pass anyway.

This bill only really effects work that cannot be attached to a specific author. Stuff like animations and games can have credits linking back to the owner's webpage (which you should ALL DO ANYWAY).
It's not a very good idea for a bill, but if it's passed we can cope with it and it's unlikely to be passed anyway.

To make the rich richer, presumably.

You and your reasonable sources :P

Not necessarily - lots of stuff is submitted on the assumption that the details on the submission page will be sufficient. Not to mention decompiles/ports to YouTube where credits and things are often shaved off.

What worries me if it is passed is how well defined a 'reasonable search' for an author is. I mean, if someone claims that they found version of your work without credits lying around on the internet, is it your responsibility to prove them wrong, and if so how would you manage that? They could theoretically start selling something of yours for significant profits without having to cut you in in the slightest.

I don't know, I think someone mentioned something similar being drafted up across the pond.

People should pay more attention to giving themselves credit inside the flash then. They should anyway, then there'd be less whining when it gets stolen cause users will be redirected to the author's site anyway.
Every flash author should have a site.
