5 Guys
Yeah, there's one in Pittsburgh. Unfortunately, I'm veggie, so I no longer appreciate burgers. But their fries are amazing. And the free peanuts are totally bomb.

Hallo auf Deutschland!
Yep, it's officially my second day in Die Mutterland and I love it. It's like New York, except less dirty, less assholes, and everything is cool. I'm in Münich for now, btw. We're gonna go to Berlin tomorrow.
I will say, however, that there are three things I am disappointed in.
1. There isn't any cool clothes that I can't buy in the US.
2. These keyboards are fucking hard to type on.
3. German girls can hold their liquor better than I can. And we were drinking Jägermeister. What. The. Fuck. >:c I guess I'll actually have to go to a club to bang a German chick, but it's still totally on my list of things to do.
Also, I am so pleased at how environmentally concious they are here. They don't even have many plastic bottles; all the Pepsi and Coke are in glass, which means they taste better (because you can put in more carbonation :3)
But, I'm still enjoying it. I got plastered at the Hofbrauhaus last night. Even from a non-drinker's perspective, it was awesome. A liter of beer is very hard to drink when you are not used to it, though. Plus, the waitresses wear tradtional clothes :3
Sonics and Five Guys
We have a few Five Guys around where I live, but they're mostly in Delaware and one in Central Pennsylvania. As far as Sonics go, the only one I've seen is about 20-30 minutes away.
But, I don't see many commercials for those places. I get a lot of Cece's Pizza places. And you know where the closest one to me is? Fucking Virginia.
No matter how fucking badly I want some pizza with Mac & Cheese on it, I am not driving 4 hours for it. Why the fuck they play it near Philly, I'll never know, but I am mystified and intregued.
Ah the Haufbrauhaus...I remember going there. That place is so fun and cheery. The last time i was in Germany I think Munich was my favorite city. I would have liked to stay in Berlin longer, but I was only there a day or so so I didn't really get a good feel for it to much. I remember they had a sweet street fair thing that sold a bunch of old military jackets and hats. Those were slick.
Enjoy the rest of your trip, man.

Radiohead - Creep
I remember seeing that ages ago. It's really nice, but it does sort of look like a lot of masks. Also check out the video on his website and press Ctrl+A. :O

Congrats! I love Front Page, and would trade it any day for any portal award. Some may argue that portal awards last forever in your profile and are more commendable, but I still feel exposure is better than any 30px award.

It used to say on your profile with the awards, before the redesign, if you had got front page - did it not?

I don't know - awards are great for building up a reputation :P I just need a Daily Feature on my next thing and I'll have completed my daily set :D
Also, does anyone know a code to actually delay the execution of something? Not just intervals - I want a delay mid-function. I'm messing around with fractals and I want to see it sketched out in real time.
I think seven stages of recursion is about the limit before my computer crashes - six to be on the safe side.

I don't think Front Page features made it into your profile... as the whole monthly awards never made it into profiles either.

Probably just me then. I thought they used to be at the bottom in a list before the user pages.
They should have a "front page" award though.. would be good!

Cheers man :)
Yeah I think getting front page is pretty important for a submissions success... I could have got daily 2nd but not front page and only had 2000 views... but since it was frontpage its shot up to 10k and going up fast.

Oh while I am in the process of stroking your ego, youtube got all weird on your Mexican Hat Catch game. Never knew who made that game, but looking at your profile I thought this might make your day.

So I recently reapplied to various universities to do animation after dropping out of my first one after a single term (don't ask) and I now have an interview for one of the most prestigious courses in England!
Here's the course (for those interested)
Now I really want to go there, but they're asking for lots of fine art. I'm not really a fine artist. If anyone has any tips on doing a lot of drawing very quickly, I'd be grateful.
Oh, and to keep this topic broad, how often do you guys all sit down and just draw? It's quite alien to me...
haha, youd be about 50 meters away from where I study if you got there :)
Theres also an animation course at Bournemouth Uni which is meant to be really good, although long hours.
I dont really have any tips about drawing quick, I guess you just have to sit down and get on with it! Its seems wierd they want fine art for an animation degree though :S
People In Charge...
I hate it when people in charge of shit don't know the first thing about what they're in charge of. For example, trying to get a job as a programmer, a lot of recruiters aren't that sharp on every single position. For example, I've been looking on sites like Career builder and Dice and I've seen a lot of jobs that ask for a BS in Computer Science. That frustrates me for the fact that not every position or person needs a BS. In my example I'm working on my AA. When I get out I'll have experience, knowledge, and certification to do the majority of the jobs I see, but for whatever reason these jobs presume that a piece of paper from a university makes someone more competant.
It's situations like these that are frustrating, knowing that someone who isn't as qualified as me will be seen in the same light as me because they have a BS. IMO, having your A+ should be proof enough that you can work a hardware position. Just like having any microsoft certs is enough for whatever software position goes along with it.

Congratulations man! Best of luck in the interview, if you have s much dedication as it seems, I think you'll be just fine.
About drawing, well, since I've been at schools I've been drawing at at least three hours a day and more often than not around 6 hours. On the weekends it's anywhere from 2 - 10 hours of drawing homework. Going to art school was the best idea I've ever had, while people in other colleges will be writing speeches and papers for the next four years, I'll be drawing pretty pictures the entire time. I wouldn't have it any other way.
My animation teacher (as well as the entire animation department) stress very much the importance of persistence and focus. He was telling us all how Illustrators spend a lot of time on one drawing, while animators spend lots of time on LOTS of drawings. Maybe thats something to think about. Also, there is no fast way to get drawings completed unless you are doing gesture studies or something. If I were you, I'd just spend the next couple weeks straight doing drawings. I spent 25+ hours on one single drawing for my portfolio when I was applying for schools. You'll have to do the same.

I think they want fine art because the entire first year is spent with light boxes and pencils...I don't know...it was the emphasis on 2D animation which drew me to the course.
Do you go to Bournemouth Uni then?
Yeah, my friend took the animation course last year and said it was heavily based around learning C++ and things, and the hours were 9 - 5 every week day. pfffft fuck that. He dropped out and took my course (Interactive Media Production) and much prefers it.
And yup im at Bmouth uni, if you wanna ask me anything about the town or uni or whatever feel free to ask/PM me :)
