I think it's interesting how noob has gotten a negative connotation over the years. It's not a bad thing to be new, but I think people usually connect it to total suckage.

The two have different connotations, but I prefer just to call people 'idiots' or whatever without dragging nice new people down with them. It's like over here in the UK how people use 'chav' instead of 'dickhead'.

Brits also have ace as 'cool' or the likes and bullocks as balls, and other sweet stuff that I probably don't know about.

Really though you can't make judgments on other peeps slangs, because obviously it matters where you grew up...

It's quite annoying, really. I can understand why people would want to single out the nasty, violent, arrogant types you get like the gentleman I witnessed headbutting a bus last year, but most people just understand 'chav' to be a negative term for 'poor people'. It's developed into a really middle-class sneer, and being pretty lower-middle-class myself I can't really endorse it :P

Suicidal Satellite
So apparently some 'bus-sized' 20,000 pound spy satellite has lost all power, and is no under no control. So it's going to hit Earth in the next couple of weeks. Article on CNN, Fox News, ABC News etc.. just google if you need some more proof.

So wouldn't it be interesting if a US satellite just happened to land in some country which does not feel too good towards the US? Yep.. should be interesting.. lets just hope it doesn't hit NG HQ.. I would be rather sad :(

Is it worth it?
So I am getting a plane ticket for a trip that is only about an hour. My flight is only going to cost $15 more to upgrade to first class, which means a get a cushy seat, service and a free alcoholic drink. It's borderline worth it, especially after the money I have to pay for my ticket.

I don't know, have any of you ever flown first class? Worth the hype?

YES! ...my sister owns a travel agency, so I've gotten really spoiled with first class and those member's only clubs. When I flew to Atlanta with a friend a few years ago, we ended up in coach on the return trip... it was awful! lol!! The fact that we were both hung over didn't help!

English slang
I never heard of people laughing at the english accent. I thought it was generally found to be quirky and brilliant.
Anyway, I dont think anyone can really laugh at us for speaking english with and english accent. It's called english which means however we say it, we're right. If anything we should be laughing at other countries accents because their accent is 'wrong'. I'm sure if I speak French I dont use a french accent and that is why my french housemates laugh at me, thus if people arent using an english accent to speak english, we have every right to laugh at them.

Also, Duder, whilst, we do call cigarettes fags, some of those lines you wouldnt get away with. "fancy me a fag" what does that even mean?

I havent heard Chav used as a general insult, only for the scummy. I think of it as more of a description than an insult.

Flying first class

It's sometimes worth it. If its not a really long flight it's not worth it. Just book your shit early enough and you can get an emergency exit seat and enjoy the comforts of first class without the large mark up.

Flying first class across long distances is great though. My favorite airline is Virgin Atlantic... their whole identity / calling card is like animated characters. It's so refreshing to see their safety thingie when its a series of cartoons instead of some stewardess who obviously has no interest in putting real effort in explaining the planes safety procedures.

Another cool thing about flying first class on long flights is that theres a dedicated bar area to just walk up and order drinks from... daddy needs his nightcap.

Last year was one of the worst first class experiences i've had tho... there was this crying baby ... wtf they should not be allowed on first class.. the WHOLE POINT of me spending tons more is to get away from that shit. I was so pissed off.

to everyone talking about english accent and slang, you really cannot generalise like that :P English accent is FAR too varied, slang is far too varied.
