the best way to draw on flash

Is there anything that is better than the tablet??? i dont think so but i have friends who swear by the mouse!! now i havn't found many who disagree with tablet (that beeing a pad that alous you to draw with a pen straight on to the computer) and then there are others that do all there drawing by hand and paper that scn them in frame by frame (what hard work) i want to know what you prefer or what you have to deal with...

p.s let me remind you this is not a poll but a debate

Tablets and mice are all just tools that can be learned. It's just a matter of choosing which tool to become more comfortable with. A lot of people adapt to the tablet and like the tactiley-similar style to real drawing, while some adapt to the mouse and it's seamless integration with tools and on and on.

So my opinion is that whatever floats your boat is the best tool. Sorry that answer sucks. You just got to try both.

Well, yeah. It's all in what you're comfortable with. I - and more famously, Luis (hrmph) - still insist on drawing with mice, but I would never claim that it was all around better, unless jokingly/competitively. There's no best, just try to work with each one and see which you gravitate towards.

I draw with both tablets and my mouse. It depends on what mood I'm in and what I feel like drawing mostly. I didn't know you used a mouse, Neg.

PaperVison is craze.

Can you repost that code outside the <code> tag?
Because if you copy/paste from the code tag here on NG it all comes in one line (atleast when using Firefox) and half the line becomes a quote and I haven't got the energy to sort it out by myself :P

Aquarium Day 4
So my Salt Water aquarium has all the live rock and sand in it now... and its pretty damn awesome. There are weird little tentacles coming out of one of the rocks, and I can't seem to identify it. There is also a sea squirt that came on one of the rocks, and it's filter feeding right now. It will be fun to see what happens over the next few weeks.

Also, my 150 watt flourscent light fixture keeps tripping the circuits in the house, and I had to run an extension cord from the bedroom to the living room to keep the circuits separate from the high power filter and the high power light, to keep the electricity load down.

In regard to using either a tablet or a mouse: Doesn't using a mouse lead to carpel tunnel (If used in bad posture)? I've noticed some pain in my wrist when I've used a mouse to animate in the past and it has since disapeared since I purchased a tablet. I'm 22, and I feel like that's a little young for onset of CT, but it did suck for awhile. I know there are precautions to take (good posture, those gel things you can get to support your wrist) but does anyone here actually take those precautions?

You bring up a good point. Actually you can get CPT from both tablet and mouse.. they both cause strain on your wrist and hand because they are not natural positions your hand should be in for hours and hours.

I occasionaly have discomfort on my writst. I saw a doctor ages ago and he said that i should limit my sessions to only a few hours tops and that i should take breaks and stretching excersizes often.. i dont do flash all nighters anymore but i dont really stretch either.. he also recommended i use one of those glove things if it really bothers me. I havent experienced too much discomfort. I think it depends on the mouse. The mice they make nowadays are much more adaptive to your hand's natural posture.

My recommendation is if you are out to be a serious mouse artist (lmao) or if you just cant afford a tablet, DEFINATELY dont stick with using the mouse that comes with your pc. Those shits are so non ergonomic and youll grind your wrist down to a stub. seriously.

Go out, test out some mice see which ones make your hand/wrist feel most at ease. The main factor behind cpt is the fact that your hand is like making that japanese death claw grip.

All Nighters

If I don't pull an all nighter, I never get anything done! And even during all nighters I only end up working half the time. I'm so easily distracted.

I like working at night, it's probably my most productive part of the day. Far less distractions than during the day (nothing on the t.v., no MSN convo's with friends, everyone in the house is asleep etc. etc.).

Computer illiteracy
I'm teaching my mom how to use the computer/internet. She has mad skills.

Mouse vs tablet

It depends on what you want to do. A tablet is great for photoshop/painter software and some flash applications. It allows you to draw very quickly and to make drawings in an organic 'painting' manner.

A mouse is very effective for the more accurate applications as autocad, 3d software and some other flash applications. A mouse is great if you have a style that consists out of simple slick shapes (Weebl, web design stuff).

I use both and even though i use the tablet more for my flash animations i use the mouse much more when it comes to designing architecture. Just figure out what you want to make and pick the right tools to accomplish that.

TV shows

Is it just the shit european networks buy, or are all American tv shows as shallow as a puddle of water in the Sahara desert? Dutch tv shows are getting worse every year but they still aren't half as bad as Extreme Home Makeover (now with even sicker and poorer people), Extreme Makeover(s), I Want a Famous Face, My Sweet 16, Dr. Phil, Beauty & the Geek, Room Raiders, Dismissed, the list goes on and on (unfortunately). Most series from the US are brilliant, but the shows... Yuck. Where did the quality go?

I most certainly do. These shows have been on air before the strike started two or three months ago though. It's just like there is some general trend for superficial shit on the telly nowadays (unrelated to the writer's strike). Programming over here hasn't changed much since the strike, because there's usually a few months delay between the release of shows and series in the US and Europe anyway (although I have to confess I miss Heroes).

I LOVE My Super Sweet 16. Don't say anything about that show, it is the best. I could do without the rest, however.

Rob & Big is probably the best show on MTV these days. They are so gnarly.

It's not so much the spelling (as I found only one spelling error in your last post), but the lack of capitalization and punctuation. It makes it painful to try to decipher what you're saying.

lol so i went to the store i bought a dog it bit me i was fine then the doctor told me i had rabies

Is hard to comprehend for people used to seeing thoughts separated with some sort of a punctuation mark.

Which has the effect of people skipping over most of your posts, especially the long ones where it's literally painful to try and comprehend what you're saying.

Secondly, you have not been around here very long, so you have no right to insult people like Edvin, or Vengeance, or anyone else for that matter, just as you don't like being insulted by other people.

So patu, here's 2 suggestions for you to improve yourself on this forum.

1. Use better punctuation, grammar, spelling, and capitalizations. This will make you seem more intelligent to the other members of the forum.

2. Cut the crap about insulting others, it makes you look like a jerk, and with you're already low reputation you can't afford to come off as a jerk.
