Hentai?
So i was trolling around general forum and i ran into a hentai thread.. i rolled my eyes naturally but i clicked on a few of the artists' entries and they were pretty damn good from a technical standpoint...

I'm not really a fan of cartoon porn or what not but i was kind of annoyed with how enraged some of the really religious freaks who posted on that thread were... its always VERY annoying when other people barge in trying to censor things for 'your own good' ....

what is your feeling on opinion on it? Should ng not allow hentai to be submitted?
This particular entry below had someone especially angry because its like teen titans and in their eyes its therefor child porn.. where do you draw the line? Or do you think there should even be a line at all?

Btw im only talking about animated work.. i know hypothetically you can turn in video to the portal but thats a whole new can of worms which im not interested in.

I don't care for hentai (well, maybe I did when I was 12, because hentai was all I could get). But hey, whatever floats your boat, I'm not at all offended by it. And when it's safely tucked away in the mature section of Newgrounds I don't see why anyone would be offended by it.

Ya however when it's put on the front page it brings a bad reputation for newgrounds as a whole.

A few years ago Tom said that google rejected newgrounds from using their ads because they had too much mature content, and that he was taking measures to reduce the amount of it that's clearly visible (like on the front page).

Next week, clixsposing samus was on the front page.

I don't mind it, but they get enough publicity as it is, they don't need to be on the front page. It's just hogging spaces for other movies and games, while they sit their gaining inflated scores.

And it's a bit annoying to get 6th place in the monthly contest when one of the top 5 is a crappy hentai slideshow or simplistic game with naked chicks in the background like has happened to me too many times to count...

I agree that mature movies shouldn't be featured on the frontpage, since NG is accessible for people over 13 years old, some of the material is inappropriate for kids that age. Maybe there should be some sort of frontpage or 'recent hits selection' for the mature section, or maybe a big red 'Mature Content' warning on the frontpage listings would do the trick.

From an animators point of view Zone-Sama's work is quite brilliant by the way, she puts the same amount of work in her animations as any other good animator. Submissions like those do deserve to be featured somewhere on this site.

From a traffic point a of view, it's beneficial for the site, IMO. I'll admit that the first thing that drew my to this site, all those years ago, was the hentai. Now that i'm older i'm still here but doing things worthwhile.

I agree but its a gross generalization to say that all hentai is crappy slideshows ... that zone-sama chick rivals james farr's work in terms of execution i think that it would go against the spirit of newgrounds to show bias. everything by everyone..

Newgrounds thrives on controversy, the more inflamitory something is the better. I think that if something is front page worthy, hentai or no, it should be put up. Whats worse, some hand drawn porn or a violent, disturbing Flash made by someone who murdered 8 (?) people?

i really laughed the first time i saw the teen titans one...but she is very good better then most animators and that's not really different from Luis part on the redesighn collab where he has a boy mastubating at porn...(i really laughed at that)

Just wanted to drop in and reinforce fuzz's post.. happy holidays to everyone. Regardless of how unruly and spammy this thread/forum is I'm really proud of the community we've made and i think its an amazing thing that our forum has amongst the most talented minds at a keystroke away. I thihnk this is an exciting forum with people with alot of potential and i hope that you all get that much closer to your goals with the coming year.

Hentai and mature stuff on NG.

I was introduced to hentai when I was 10 years old and I'm still enjoy. Course back then I enjoyed it a much different way then I do now. Now I see hentai as just another form of erotic art and I'm a big fan of both erotic art and anime so yeah. :P
But in all seriousness NG needs hentai because a large portion of the users who come here, come here for the hentai. I use to know some poeple who thought NG was a hentai site. lol Anyways the hentai slideshows and "quizzes" I think we should chuck as they don't require any talent whatsoever. Stuff like the work from Zone-Sama is amazing from both an erotic artists view and an animators.
For hentai and other mature things not being on the frontpage I'll have to disagree. NG is about freedom of speech and original the stuff on the site like Assassin and Club a Seal caused controversy. Wasn't NG original just for putting sick and twisted shit to piss some poeple off and make other poeple laugh on it? I'd love to see more things like the V-Tech game and other stuff on the frontpage. The sick/twisted stuff existing here is one of the things that prooves NG isn't coorperatly owned and we can do what we want. Picture NG like the rebel teen of the interwebs. :P
NG got a lot of attention from the sick and twisted stuff on it so I say bring 'em on!
