Coder wanted

Anyone in here that knows how to make turn-based multiplayer game? Are you free to do a project for the 15th of January?

I have a simple-yet playable game to make (a pen&paper game I made up that I want to spread around, with the theme of transforming spacecraft fighting each other). I've no idea how long multiplayer connectivity takes, but the rest of it is probably around 8-12hrs work for the coder coder.

I'll make all the graphics of course and will help you however I can.

FFR thread makes it hard to follow a particular conversation and due to its nature, some conversations that may be kept going in their own thread just kinda die... but it's good at providing a place for the tiny comments that'd never arise in the 'real' forum as well as keeping some mess away.

I think it'd be interesting to see it locked for a few months, maybe as an experiment - folk might get used to making 'discussion' threads again.

I wanted to reply to Mogly's comment despite not being here as much as some folk and thought here was a better place to do it.

I think the red lounge is a middle ground. We don't want to have a whole bunch of discussion topics, which will clutter up the forum, and neither do we want to have it so there is no discussion whatsoever outside the realm of flash. Granted it's hard to follow, without it there might be no discussion at all. Turning the flash forum into a general chat kind of thing would constitute breaking the flash forum off of the regular Newgrounds bbs and denouncing the general forum altogether.

If it made sense for us to have general conversations in the flash forum alone, I'm sure we would have it, but we should remember that this is the flash forum, and there are other branches of the bbs made for people to just talk to each other on.

Some people are so touchy when it comes to critical reviews...I understand being pissed when a review has no thought, but when real time and effort are taken to give helpful critique and you refuse to concede any merit, that chaps my hide.

The button part isn't worked out how they are going to be selected yet, I just stuck lines around then and made them huge and such.

I'm not suggesting we start making threads about random stories, what your opinion of the latest film was or whether I should go ahead and join the army or whatever.

However, there's sometimes a few flash-related topics that get posted in here that might be better suited to their own thread, where the conversation would get the space and whatnot it deserves. When I come here, maybe 50% of the threads are asking questions that are either answered or are outwith my knowledge base (I only code when required - I'm not a coder). Maybe 45% are about collabs. The remaining few might have some actual discussion in them, but I feel actual DISCUSSION is all-too-rare outside this thread. It seems like all we get are questions, requests for help and collab threads.

I'm really not slating those things - collabs can be cool, andthis is the perfect place to ask for help. However, I just feel that when we start a discussion that's actually about flash we should consider starting a new thread, rather than hiding away in this corner of a corner of the BBS.

I guess I'm kinda guilty in hiding away myself - I should maybe post in threads I like, keep them alive and worry less about posting something a bit silly or whatever.

I agree - type layout could be better - maybe use stars, some lines ... some element to draw us to the buttons. When we go over them, colour change, have lines on all?

Like the idea, dislike the rendition of the trees (size/position seem wrong, movement looks slightly irksome) and the Gaussian blur.
