Have you seen the movies that don't have him? Red Dragon is actually a remake of an old Michael Mann film called Manhunter, which is completely unrelated the rest of the series, it's just based on the same book. I haven't actually seen it yet, but it's supposed to be good. Just recently they made another one that tells the story of his childhood. It got awful reviews, but I thought it was brilliant.
He's in Red Dragon, and that movie is also a Thomas Harris book. It's the prequel to Silence of the Lambs. Hannibal Rising was also good, but it did NOT have Anthony in it.
Homecoming
Hot shit, homecoming week at my school. So we're having spirit week and finally, it's SENIOR YEAR! WHOOOO! 5 days of pure chaos, a pep rally to top it off, the dance on Saturday night.
Plus, I am going to see a girl who graduated last year who I had a huge crush on and I finally told her after I broke up with my gf :3
Beachtime
I went camping this weekend for a few days and I was at Cape Henlopen, Delaware. The weather was great, the water was perfect, and I had a great time. The only bad thing was that I got a shitload of mosquito bites.
Homecoming
Dances are overrated... I'd rather spend my time on flash >:U

Arsonist much?
About under two months ago, a couple friends of mine and I went to his backyard and started this little contained fire in some wheel-barrel to burn up some olds thing we had. Instead of just throwing them away in the garbage, my friend thought it'd be cool to "burn" them away. Oh well.
So, we were having fun and all, as we see the smoke fill the air of my friend's backyard, than suddenly the Fire Department came... Uh oh. I kept telling my friend that we were going to get in trouble, but he just kept saying we'll be fine... Bullshit.
His mom tried to stop him, but he didn't exactly listen. His mom stood at the door step, gazing at the fire and yelling "I'm watching you, are you done yet?" He yelled back, "No, Go away, we're fine!" Than she stood there than walked away. Funny thing is, after the whole thing went on and the Fire Department came, she acted like she didn't even know. Trying to play it cool, she started talking about flowers and plants, making jokes, trying to make the department laugh. Didn't exactly work though.
They questioned us for our name and than following up our address and parents' names. I gave them my mothers name of course, but this wasn't nearly the worst part. The one volunteer Fireman, called in the "barrel-fire", and asked "Why did you guys do this? Do you know the dangers of fire?" My friend like an idiot responds, "We were bored, and there's nothing to do in this town. It's boring." The man replied back in a nasty manner, "Oh so setting fires is fun? DO YOU KNOW HOW DANGEROUS THAT IS." Than he kept continueslly taunting us about what our friend said. Mumbling what he said to himself constantly.
He than proceeded in our "information arrest," and lechered us about what can happen to us since we did this. Like we can go into some Fire Safety Program for Pyromaniacs, or pay major fines. After the continues speech, we were forced to go into the cop car to get a ride home. My mom wasn't quite too mad, but what comes up next is what is interesting.
About 2 months after the incident, we got a huge envelope in the mail. I thought it was over, but psh, I was wrong. Very wrong. I opened it up, and I have to go to court on October 5th, 1:30pm for a meeting about the incident. My two other friends and their guardians have to take present as well. They said we may go on Probation and/or pay a fine of $30.00 per complaint, which was one, unless we are proven innocent.
Of course, we won't be proven innocent. We will be guilty as soon as we walk in the door. We started a fire, and we must face the consequences. I guess, I get out of school for my arson ways, but I don't quite think it's that bad. Nothing caught flame, and nothing exactly happened. The fire was put out with the hose before the even came. It's just ridiculous.
I guess, I'll see them in court. Hopefully, I don't have to go on probation. That'd suck.
Homecoming
In my school it's either the 2nd or 3rd week of October. I don't really care, I have no spirit for my school. I actually was rooting for my old school at a football game between them. My old school won, too. Cheektowaga Warriors 63 - Depew Wildcats 13.
I Need Some Advice
And this is probably THE worst place to ask this sort of advice. But my douche bag friends would steer me wrong anyway, for the lulz.
There is this one girl in my Biology class, and I am almost positive she has a crush on me. I can just sense that she does (Or it could be she stares at me sometimes and doesn't even bother looking away when I notice). She's pretty hot, skinny too. There are two problems though.
For one, she is in 10th grade. I am a junior (11th grade), and I don't know about in your section of the world, but here its not considered the best to go out with younger chicks. I mean they won't haze you because you're going out with someone 1-2 years younger, but it's odd how people talk to you less when you do.
Secondly, she is a prep. This is what would keep me from definitely asking her out. Obviously, I am not a prep/jock, I am a skater, not goth or emo. I just go in dark jeans and a dark T-shirt. The problem with this is the social boundaries. Her friends would not get along with me or my friends, and my friends (few as they are), would not get along with her or her friends. Therefore we could only see each other alone outside of school or face extreme awkwardness.
Thats right regs, desperate Cheek here asking a bunch of nerds chick advice. SO PULL OUT THOSE RELATIONSHIP BOOKS.

This isn't particularly advice, per se, but this eerily reminds me of Sk8er Boi...
Unfortunately the best advice I can give you is, if all goes accordingly to the song, she'll be afraid to ask you out due to peer pressure from her friends, you end up being a rock star, and end up with some other girl.
Just a little tongue and cheek, I'm sure others can give better advice than I can... :P
Anyway, good luck.

Hm.. What would I do.. Loose friends and get the girl or loose the girl and get the friends. I'd probably go with friends :/ Those silly high school relationships never last that long anyways..

When I asked if you'd seen the movies without Hopkins, I was referring to Manhunter and Hannibal Rising. Should have worded it better...Edward Norton is also in Red Dragon. I've been watching many of his movies lately - he's a great actor as well. The only movie of his that I disliked was The Illusionist, which I found exceedingly boring. I almost fell asleep during certain moments!

I think I can.

I have fires all the time in my yard (no fire permit or anything), hell we've even set off bottle rockets and we've never had the fire department come and yell at us about it.
Then again I live in the farmlands of my city, so there's a lot of space and it's not like we're on top of any other houses.
Did I mention that fireworks are illegal in massachusetts? I haven't been caught at my house, but one 4th of july at cape cod last year I was caught. Cop on a bike. You never see them coming cause they're quite and in a black uniform at night. I just heard "Hey. Whatcha got there" and i turn around and there's a cop. He took the last few fireworks we had and the lighter. He took down our (me, my brother, and my cousin) names and by that time my uncle had come out of the house and walked down to where we were and started a conversation with the cop. After like 5 minutes we quietly walked back to the house while my uncle continued talking to the cop. We were on a little beach when we were setting off the fireworks so it's not like it was a firehazard or anything, plus it was the 4th of july. What type of cop confiscates fireworks on the freaking 4th of july?
Cheek's gurl trubbles
Just do it. Seriously, there's no harm in trying. Fuck your friends, and fuck her friends.
If your friends are really your friends, they'd have your back and would not cockblock you. In fact, they should support you.
If it doesn't work out in the end, so what. It's not like you're proposing to her, you just wanna know if she wants to go to the movies, eat some popcorn, slip you some tongue, maybe some hand action, and then see you tomorrow in school. Best case scenario.
Worst case scenario: She says no and her friends who wouldn't talk to you now would laugh at you behind your back like they probably already do and then continue ignoring you.
You really have nothing to lose. Go for it!
Just make sure you do it in person. Wait until after class and ask her to the movies or something while you walk with her to her locker/next class. Having the balls to ask her will impress her. look her in the eyes and NOT AT HER BOOBS, stand up straight, speak slowly, calmly, and clearly, and remember not to go "YES!!!11!11!!!" and run down the hall if she says yes. If she does, get her cell number and tell her you'll call her later with more info.
There.

I have a couple friends on probation, At least in my county you have to go to a special school and you get a prolonged suspension of sixmonths from the publics... which would blow as it makes it way harder to get into the same colleges you would have with something like an expulsion or prolonged suspension in your record.
Of course there's were a bit more serious so I don't know if it makes a difference. Also as a minor on probation you can be searched for no reason other than you're on probation, which for alot of people would be a bitch. I know calling on my 4th amendment right has come in handy a couple times.
In general that completely blows, hoping you just get a fine... and as long as you're polite and seem regretful I highly doubt they'd stick you with probation.
"we were bored" is a classic answer
I'm gonna take a bbs break for a bit... cya guys in a few days or weeks... don't really know how long I'll be gone. It's to big of a distraction.

No, that's hardly the point. You can agree with the "stealing" or whatever but that is totally irrelevant. MC was just being immature about the whole situation, trying to bring ShortMonkey down.
ShortMonkey, your comments were a little rough, but you don't need to be ridculed for it. Rather then saying that things are ugly, say that YOU don't like it, because some things aren't ugly to other people.
Either way, I've never been a huge fan of the way MC handles things. He's an amazing artist, he just has a lot of shit to say about everyone else. He reviewd one of my games saying it was too much like Dan Paladins, when Dan's game wasn't even a thought in the process of our game. He also said it was unoriginal out of spite of the fact that it may look like Dan's game. =/
At 9/23/07 05:32 PM, Cheektoghetto wrote: I Need Some Advice
I find it interesting that your post showed very little interest in the girl at all. I mean, you seemed just more concerned about what other people think about you instead of what you really wanted to do. But beyond that, here are some tips from someone not stuck in high school drama.
Remember that there are three groups of people involved in this potential relationship: you, the girl, and your friends. From previous experience, life requires you to balance all three. If you dip out of your own life for your girlfriend and start ditching your friends all the time, there goes the whole balance. If you only pay attention to your friends, you'll be missing out on the girl. From what I see, you are going to be in awkward position with everyone. Is she worth it? Will you be able to balance your life?
Second, don't worry about your age difference. I dated my girlfriend when I was a Senior and she was a Junior, and we have been together 4 years (Oct 2 is our anniversary). Really, is shouldn't be a worry as long as it's someone you know will be good for you. I would be worry if she was 5 years different at your age, but it shouldn't be a worry at all.
And third, it sounds like you just want to be with her because she likes you. Probably not the best thing. I mean, its really flattering to know someone might like you, but do you like her because of her or because of her liking you?
I vote "wait and see." I don't believe in the "take the plunge" unless you really like her, but it doesn't really sound like it from what you wrote. It takes more than a hot body to get past the first date, and high school relationships are a lot harder to break out of than later relationships... friend drama, your own drama, school drama, drama drama... etc.
Hi there!
Re: Pissed at Mindchamber
MC's a great artist and etc., but as a person he can be cold. However he's pretty cool most of the time. The big guy just needs a hug! ^^
...or a new vintage Transformer action figure.
Advice
Just wondering how are you both in the same class but in different year groups?
And just ask her out dont listen to what people say why should you live life differently because of hat people think about you.
RE: Mindchamber
I personally like MC as a person and artist.. I think hes a bit more extremist than i am at times but i like it when you get the full range of a persons personality online, not just the im here to be friends kind.
Not everyone on the internet is going to be your friend, not everyone will like your work, not everyone will see things how you see them and thats okay in my book. Some people are rough around the edges like MC and some are more pacifists like jmtb.. i love em both and i like that they are both different. it'd be so boring dealing with the same shit.
RE: Relationship woes
I agree with John, youre more looking out for your friends/her friends interests.. you sure you like her?
