RE: Crazy bus stories

You guys need to go on the NYC subway system because you seem to love this kind of stuff and you're guaranteed some of it just for riding the subways.

One example is when I was on my way home from a taping of Conan O'Brien, and I got on the subway to get to Penn Station. It was moving fine, and all of a sudden it stopped. We sat there for like 25 minutes, and then the conductor announced that the police had to rush to the train in front of us to arrest an unruly passenger. And in the NYC subway system, to get arrested for being unruly, you need to be REALLY unruly otherwise they would be arresting 1/3 of the people on the subways. That was like the first time I had taken the subway in 6 months, I can't even imagine what else happens. So if you want an adventure, there's nothing else like it. (and also if you like the smell of urine you should try it)

Pfft, real chavs don't go to college, inverted commas or not.

so i always find it fun banging on the windows and swearing at them to see them all try to run after bus

lol, that reminds me :P A couple of years (OK, a little less) ago, our PE consisted entirely of going bowling every Friday. One of the first times we went some of the guys on the coach started shouting at this guy on a bike outside. A few seconds later and we were there and stopping :) It was funny just seeing the peeps who'd been hurling abuse a couple of seconds or so ago just diving behind the windows trying to hide from this guy. I think he just rode on in the end, but it was still pretty funny.

VERIZON DSL

Yesterday, my telephone line was knocked out by a wind storm, I was quite upset as I was in the middle of a game of Counter Strike.

Anyway the phone line came back on, and to my astonishment, The internet did not. So I waited until about noon today to call the tech people. I had to sit on the line for a half an hour answers yes or no questions about my modem and computer. Then I had to wait another 15 on hold for the tech lady to pick up.

She picked up and was very nice about everything, but she treated me like I was special education and wearing a helmet. She told me to type "h- as in horse, t- as in tractor, t- as in tractor, p- as in pig, then colon, the 2 dots, and two front slashes." Yes that was an actual quote.

It was slow, but she was helpful and responsive and helped get me back online, I just wish they wouldn't be so condescending. I guess you have to be when 75% of your customers are computer retarded. So Verizon, I salute you in your stupid connection, but helpful tech associates.

Bus stories

Uhh... The craziest thing that I saw in a bug was when someone didn't pay for his ticket so he was asked to get out of the bus so he paid for his ticket and apologized. :0
'cause last time I was in paris when I was a little kid, you had to (usually) buy a ticket when you enter the bus, or have prepaid tickets that you can buy outside the bus and then there's a person coming to check if you got your ticket.

Amazing innit?

its not an actual college, its a state highschool which is called a 'community college' which gets fuck loads of money poured into it to give it state of the art computers with full adobe packages, maya 3dstudiomax (whcih i dunno, maybe one person uses this stuff every 2 years) for hundreds of compuiters.

and its full of scum that maybe scrape through with 1 gcse maybe

Bus Stories

The two main incidents I can think off atm on our bus is:
-The bus driver punched a kid in the face for spitting at him.
-Some chavs tore off a seat and threw it out the window.

Grr, this has been driving me mad for 24hrs already. I'm trying to figure how to code a rope that can be used in a platformer, my best try worked fine but it really didn't look smooth enough, and beside it wasn't reallistic as you couldn't go above the point where the edge of the rope was held, only move left and right in _x with a slight _y modification depending on the x distance between you and the edge of the rope.

if you have any ideas or theories for this problem please let me know.

Is poutine unusual for you guys? It's not for me and i love it soooo much.

Also because i'm living up in north ontario right now a couple of days ago i had these things. Not sure what there called but first you butter bread, then put peach slice in the middle. then you enclose the sandwich in a tin box that just barely fits it and you put it in a fire (We have a fire pit in the backyard) when you take it out and eat it it has this amazing pie like texture to it. It's great :D

Urk... I hate poutine. The very first poutine I had (probably the last, too) almost made me throw up afterwards, it was so greasy. I felt sick for a few hours and couldn't do much except lie down. I don't think my body can handle it. It tasted good, though. :/

The weirdest foods I've ever eaten were cow's tongue and chicken feet, in Chinese dim sum places.

Yes, I love sushi, it isn't particularly the best thing for your body if you eat it all the time though.

I love poutine, and being in Canada there is poutine everywhere! Although, if you eat poutine and a bacon burger in one sitting, the left side of your chest will begin to hurt...

Jammin out to some Led Zeppelin whilst typing on the BBS in my Zeppelin shirt, hehehe....

RE: Unnusual Cuisine

I had poutine when i went to the canada meet, I didnt like it, it tasted like dog food. I had to be a good sport tho. I actually do like sushi, particularly things that involve seafood. I'm heavy on the seafood. I had oysters rockefeller today.. its probably one of my favorite things in the world. The place i had it at sucked tho, they didnt sprinkle bacon on it.

I'd like to try fugu at some point, theres something intruiging about eating a fish that could potentially kill you if it wasnt cooked right.

I've had an ostrich burger.. its kind of dry..

Unnusual Cuisine

Well, first of all I'm back.

Anyway, i like sushi (not the raw fish kind, the vegetable or shrimp/crab kind is good.)

Fried calamari is pretty good too. It's not exactly rare or anything, but some people don't like the idea of eating squid. It's quite tasty actually.

I LOVE lebanese and indian foods though. My dad is half lebanese so we get these neat football-shaped meat things (forget what they're called) every now and then along with some like... thick sour cream stuff called labne or something. Hummus is good too, we have that more often.
For indian foods, there's an expensive indian restaurant near where I live that we go to on special occasions all the time. I love curried chicken dishes and bryani dishes, and samosas and pakoras. (i really don't know how to spell these food names very well).

Unusual Cuisine

I eat hamburgers made from people. I kill them in their sleep and pile 'em up in my shed behind my house. Every morning I put them in the meat machine and eat them up.

But seriously, I'm a finky eater and hardly eat anything wierd. Probably the wierdest is..uh...chinese food.

Unusual Cuisine

pixelz was right about the poutine and bacon cheeseburger thing. A delicious but extremely unhealthy meal.

The most exotic thing I think I've had is shawarma, and that isn't even exotic, considering there's like at least 20 restaurants in my city that serve it (it's probably double that number).
