Wow, thanks so much! I appreciate it dearly. Alot of effort was put into it, we went through hell of alot of time and work to get that thing out. Starting over was our first obstacle.

Glad you liked it.

Some were good, some sucked. I think it could've been better but I did like it overall! I appreciate the time put in, so great job...Basically everything Generate said.

Hawaii, I dream of going there. But I dream alot, sometimes 10 hours a day! 624, pretty nice, But Luis still takes the lead. I would have though some movies would get well over the 25,000 mark. Maybe Dads Home, or The Yuyu?

maybe, i think that the ultimate showdown have the most.. its just all over the internet. or maybe numa numa?

Not trying to start something, but it actually sickens me that Numa Numa is popular here. Actually, sickens is too much a strong word, I just dislike it. I mean yer, submit movies here, when you put effort in, but thats just a guy singing. Fail.

Haha, I picked "Fail" up.

actually, i think a lot of people here hate it. Its just a lot of people found it funny, so they all added it to their favorites... I personally think that some of the best flashes become shunned, and the worst ones become famous.

I'm pretty sure the collabs I didn't submit have more. But TSAH:Flood Library has 595... strangely enough, it has a hundred less reviews...

I need to do more work for this portal.

Numa Numa

I couldn't care less what an overweight kid does infront of his webcam for fun. I'll admit the first time I saw it I lol'd but now it's plain idiotic. I wouldn't have a problem with Gary if he just left it but he got all cocky about it and made a sequal and mooched off the Numa Numa fan-base for his own selfish goods.

I agree with the previous statemnt though - the flash parodies of it are much more entertaining and deserving then the actual original.

Numa Numa

There's too much hate around things like this, to be honest. It was a funny flash :P It just demonstrates how the scene works - popularity and appeal aren't down to graphics quality, or frame rate, or the amount of time you spend working on them - those things help, sure, but there's something which just latches on and that had it.

As far as favourites go, my most is like 22 for my Christmas one :( My dreams one got 21, though, and that wasn't even front paged, so I'd say that was more successful in that department.

Maybe you've got it completely wrong.
Maybe you people are failing to understand that what Gary did entertained millions. Sometimes all it takes is someone dancing to Europop to make people laugh. All these dillusions of grandure you have from being an animator and superior to a guy with a webcam are suddenly shattered by him being a much bigger internet celebrity than you for much less effort - a concept that's totally alien to any artist.

Maybe, just maybe, Gary got it right and the rest of us have it completely wrong. Maybe that's why sites like Youtube have caught on in popularity, overtaking Newgrounds in the ranks of where to slack off for your lunch hour.

And hey. Lazy animation does appeal to some people. In fact, it seems to appeal to hundreds more than the superior stuff does. It's not the only reason artists like LegendaryFrog and IWP still have a gigantic following, but it sure helps them having animation styles with minimalism.

No one really wants to accept that, deep down, we could have our epic works lose out to absolute tosh for the Daily Awards or the e-popularity sweepstakes...

Fat Kids Dancing to euro music = comedy by North American standards. Its not his fault, its ours : )

We are a degenerate society based upon capitalism and thinking that were better then everyone, more so Americans on the last point, and our comedy includes making fun of our own problems whichone of them happens to be obesity, which is now a problem in our pets aswell.

On the note of trying to change the topic...

Music
Music is such a large and important part of movies, flashes and games alike.
Does the music you use in your flashes change the way you animate or shape the style of your movie?
Im not talking about music videos, just about normal movies. Such as the dad movies which are nicely in sync with the chosen music.
Also, do any of you guys like any bands you like that aren't so hugely popular or well known. Or have a style to them there music that only a minority of people enjoy and think is rad?
Discuss.

please...

Music

I wouldn't say that I'm into any non-well known bands or musicians. I like WHite Stripes and Zeppelin and they do kind of give me inspiration to a certain style that I would like to portray in anything I do. I am making a music video for the song "Pain" by the White Stripes and from the sound of the guitar I get this idea of a sort of messy art style.

Self Built PCs

Anyone here have a custom/self built pc? I was thinking of making one, since i need something better, and i was wondering if anyone had any tips :P.

Music

Flash music videos can be amazing, most of them are great, since the author has really been hyped by the song, so they do the best work they can. For example, -lsf- (by shirty) looked really good, and the music worked with his random style. Music is a great motivator :).

Music

I grew u disliking music however now I find myself listening to everything. Mostly a mixture of Heavy Metal and Country. My sister is a really good singer and could probably do good in one of 'em idle things. I'm not bad myself just aren't a big fan of singing. As for famous singers and crap.... Me and a friend helped builded a gate for one of Nickelbacks mansions in Vancouver. We didn't meet any of them but we were less then 10 feet away from Chad and he waved at us.

Mine isn't self built...but it was custom made. I believe they are not only better, but a lot cheaper.
I went to a shop that specialised in computers and mine ended up costing me like, $1800 AUD all up.
I go into a store that sell other stuff besides computers, and the packages they have there were about the same price as my custom built one, but you got less. Less stuff with the package and of lesser performance/quality.
Make sure to do some research and shop around on parts, such as video cards, RAM, motherboards and stuff like that. Buy some magazines they usually have great advice. The most expensive parts aren't always the best for value of money.
Set yourself a budget and usually the guy helping you out with putting it together can suggest some stuff.
I know very little when it comes down to the actual part and stuff to a computer. That's why I did my research before so I know I get the best possible deal and best quality parts that kept within my budget.

Forget Self Built PCs
You want a self built Cintiq...

Anyhow. First thing first, you want to choose a motherboard and base everything around that. Choose one that'll give you room to grow, rather than allow you to recycle pieces from your old PC. Then start looking for places selling a lot of the components that'll match it cheaply.

Not done it myself, but I'm looking to. Best motherboard I've seen recently is this one (dabs.com) and should be pretty resilient for the next few years. Add a cheap Dabs case and power supply, and all you need then is a Graphics Card, some RAM and some drives...

That's brilliant... I've been thinking of buying a Intuos A5 Wide, but it's kinda pricey at 425 euros, especially since I just used all my money to buy a new iMac.

Newegg.com has all the best deals. Main thing to look out for is deals on ram, because if you're not careful it'll be the thing you spend the most money on. Depending on how you want your machine set-up go for ATI Xpress or AGP video cards, and AGP sound cards (sound blaster is the best!). Then get a SATA 7200 RPM seagate or w/e brand you see there thats the cheapest. I would also suggest getting a seperate myBook for back-up. Then for the processor I'd suggest getting the best deal on an AMD you can find, since they run better than Pentiums, unless the pentium is a bit better for the same price, then it'll be about even. The case, don't go too fancy on them because they'll end up getting banged and beat up, and fail within the first 6 months. Get something with at least 3 fans and looks durable.

That's about all the advice I can offer. The rest is searching for the best deals you can find. You can literally make a monster machine out of 5-6 hundred bucks. I'm talking about a machine worth 2-3 times that much. Just look around.

I might get a custom-built PC. Problem is, its a lot more expensive than I thought.

Favorites

My most favorites are for an old sprite flash of mine, with 12. Another Flash of mine has over 15,000 views for reasons I can't explain, due to it having a score of 2.83 and almost no advertising.

You guys have checked this out, right? Right?

Customer service
When I signed up for my contract mobile just over 6 months ago, I was told I could downgrade the price-plan after 6 months. I went to the t-mobile store on saturday, since that period was over 2 weeks ago. The girl in the shop told me that they'd changed it to 11 months since i signed up, but that because the terms in my contract are from before then, it'd be ok.

She calls up the CS guys at t-mobile, and the woman on the phone told her that it wasn't possible at all. So I call up CS and I get a different woman, who tells me to fax a copy of my contract in to prove that it says 6 months. I run home and get it, go back to the shop, but we couldnt find anything on it saying 6 months.

Once again I call CS, this time a new woman tells me that there's no problem, and because I signed up before may when the change happened, I could still downgrade. She then did it for me, and the whole call lasted about 2 minutes.

I find it hard to believe that 3 calls to the same customer services department could give such different results. Anyone else got horror stories?

Tom-
