I think I suffer from it, but I don't know why. I'm always sad and think negative thoughts. I cure this by having a big dose of caffeine, which probably means I'm addicted to it. I mean, without it my hands start to shake and all that...I need to see my doctor :)

Depression sucks and most people don't understand it or how much of an effect it can have on a persons life. I've been in and out of mental hospitals for the past 11 years of my life for depression, anxiety and socialphobia. It's always been there and never goes away completely no matter how many pills I take. They do help; the pills, but life still gets to me regularly. =\

Going through a dry spell with regards to my art and animation doesn't help any, nor does having my BFF pissed off at me.

Whatever...

Yeah, I'm going to Canada on July 18th, and coming home around the 25th.

It can take 10-12 weeks to get a passport... and they cost like $100!
http://travel.state.gov/passport/passport_173 8.html

Not if you drive to the nearest mega city (for you New York) go to their pasport agency wait for around 5 hours pay them give your forms wait 4 hours for them to process then wait another 3 to stand in line to pick it up...

I had to do that to get to Canada our car was stolen out of our garage with my passport and social security card were their my employer needed to see passport and I don't have my social security number memorized...

that was 2 days before I left the country flying...
I'm pretty sure with your birth certificate you can drive into canada and come back up through september as the woman working their wouldn't stop telling me that.

I'm yet to see milk bags and I've been to 3 different liquor stores and mini marts. I have an idea for the rockout contest that could either be completely original and amazing or suck ass, won't really knokw till i build the engine which I hope won't take to long as the concept isn't hard... then if I like it I'll do art.

and Pink, I don't say you can say you're hot without pics and be convincing (not asking for them) but saying you look one way or another without photographical backing is like saying I have a 13 inch penis... I might but its the internet words are cheap

I remember him from the early days of poxpowers art thread... anyway hes from ng. Sqeezy probably remembers him as well.. we were gonna make a game or something at some point.. it was like the equivalent of the flash reg collab... it was me sark, sqeezy, regis cartoons, hulk and some other people...

My only gripe with that site and the reason i prefer newgrounds is because ng has like the raw up and coming talent.. its so exciting to see artists like nogfish swain and others.. its like one of those things where you can tell your grandkids and be like yeah i was there when that kid was on the verge of blowing up..

Icon artists

What do you get for being an icon artist? I used to help out, but I stopped becasue I got nothing in return ):

Flashes on TV

That's pretty cool. I wonder how many people it would take to make one episode of something...maybe only one person? Or like and entire studio of 100 people? And where would you have this 'studio' anywho? Just an online forum like Newgrounds or a real building in the city?

You get the satisfaction of knowing that you made icons for entries submitted by some lazy, lazy human beings who didn't think their own work was good enough to warrant an icon.

that isn't much, now is it? after that post you make anyone regret having made an icon for some very lazy person who will never thank you anyway.

OK now guys, here's my main problem with the whole icon helpers thing, and is pissed me off to the farthest extent.

I see no problem with them asking people to submit icons for entries that were added BEFORE ENTRY ICONS WERE IMPLEMENTED. Now, they chose not to make an icon required even after the icon system had been implemented. So, an icon is STILL not required when submitting a Flash. My question is, why should we help with these but people STILL don't need to make their own with their entries? It's nonsensical when you think about it.

Do you see where I'm coming from? It's like saying let's let people be very lazy and then try to get dedicated users to make up for their laziness.

Newgrounds should be like Kongregate, where you're forced to have an icon to submit you Flash.

even though Kong is kinda like NG...

For the new site layout, there should be points that are rewarded ot those who help make icons for other people. Like, say if you make 20, you get 5+ exp or something. Would that be a good idea?

If NG did that no one would bother to vote on movies and just make 20 crappy icons for different people. I think you should get points for submitting movies though.

Dry season

Right now it's the dry season (winter everywhere else?), becasue since Darwin's a tropical place, it either pisses down rain or is really, really humid (I'm talking 100% humidity). Yeah so right now it's 24 degrees, which is bloody cold. So; is it me? Coming from a hot place to think 24c is cold? Or is it cold for everyone else :0

Yeah, but more related to the score of the flash.
If it didnt pass judgment, you get shit all.
Once it passes judgement it would be cool if you got say, 5 exp and then an extra 5 for every, say, .50 of the submissions score.
Like for example, you submit a movie, it passes so you get 5 exp, and ends up getting a score of just over 3.5 / 5, that would mean you'd get 40 exp for that movie. If then, someday it was voted to 4 you'd get another 5 exp.
Maybe this would encourage better quality submissions.
...Maybe.

Hope that made sense...

Writing a Novel

Hm, I think I may write a novel. Would anyone be interested if I wrote one? :] I'm being dead serious though, For some reason, I've been getting this urge to write somewhat of a story that may change people's looks and perspective on things. I'm very inspired.

Ah, I'm glad you are interested. I honestly am pretty good at writing, I'm just brainstorming right now, trying to figure out the whole storyline and what not. I do enjoy reading novels that I am actually interested into. I'm really into "mysteries" and things I can relate too. [like the teenage lifestyles.]

I haven't really been reading lately besides some ghetto magic trick book, but I really want to read "The Perks of Being a Wallflower." My friend Victoria recommended it to me actually, she said it was a pretty good book, so I'll give it a go. It kinda relates to my lifestyle as it is, minus the drugs. :]

My favorite book i've read, is 'The Beach' by Alex Garland. It is the same story as the film, however it's just not been TURNED into a hollywood film if you get what I mean, the book is very good, the film not so.. chick flick'd basically.

It's about a traveller called Richard who goes off travelling, then finds this beach community Island and becomes a part of it. Very good read.

Alex Garland btw is the guy who wrote the screenplay for 28 Days Later, and wrote an initial draft of the Halo movie.

Ah, was it really that good? Ah, I'll check it out sooner or later. And I'm going to be honest, I like chick flicks (: Heh, I'm a loser I know. But for some reason, I'm a sucker for cute romantic movies. Also, I know what Hollywood does to movie. Adds all those special effects and changes the whole dialogue basically to make it the way THEY want it. Blehh.

It's about a traveller called Richard who goes off travelling, then finds this beach community Island and becomes a part of it. Very good read.

The book my friend told me about is about a boy who writes to various people that really don't know him about his everyday problems and life. Eh, let me copy it from the wikipedia page x] I haven't read the book yet so yeah.
"The story takes the form of a series of letters to an anonymous friend written by the narrator, a teenager who calls himself Charlie (his real name is never mentioned).

The story explores topics such as introversion, teenage sexuality, and the awkward times of adolescence. The book also touches strongly on drug use and Charlie's experiences with this. As the story progresses, various works of literature and film are referenced and their meanings discussed.

The story takes place during the 1991-1992 school year, when Charlie is a high school freshman. Charlie is the wallflower of the novel. He is an unconventional thinker, and as the story begins he is shy and unpopular."

Alex Garland btw is the guy who wrote the screenplay for 28 Days Later, and wrote an initial draft of the Halo movie.

Ahh, I gotcha. I never actually heard of him honestly. I'll look into it though. I heard 28 Days Later was suppose to be good. And about the Halo movie, usually Video Game movies aren't so good. But in my opinion, I enjoy them. Even though some people didn't like the Resident Evil movies, I did. And they are planning to make a third. Oh boy. x]
