School Fire
This morning, at exactly 11:37 AM, we were in AP Reading, we were working in our notebooks when the fire alarm went off. At first, we all thought it was a drill. After about 5-10 minutes, I said to my friend, "I don't think this is a drill anymore." He didn't either, Another 10 minutes later, still, we were outside. The teachers let us sit near the fence because it was going to take a while. One by one my class saw fire trucks, ambulances, the sherrif, and the Emergency One Fire Truck came. By this time, everyone was asking, "What the fuck's going on?" For a long time, all we had was to sit and wonder if summer vacation would begin early, if you know what I mean. At noon, we found out what had really happened. It was a small fire that started in the air purifiers on the second floor, where the Juniors and Seniors were. About 10 minutes later, we heard over the PA system for the Seniors to come into the cafetorium, then the Juniors into the gym, and then the Freschmens (Spelling?) and Sophomores (Me) would report to their current classes. That was the end of the phenomenon. The second floor was unaccessable until 12:40, and the room where the fire started is still out of order. It may have been a small fire, but it was the first fire I had ever experienced in real life.
