I'm trying my best to work out what this sound* is. It's a traditional Japanese style sound, but I have no idea what it's called or what the percussion instrument at the end is (it's too heavy and high pitched to be a simple wood block, surely?). That makes finding a public domain one very difficult...

It's also very similar to the sound you hear when you summon Yojimbo in FFX. Any idea what that little sphere of stereotypical Japanese sounds are, and where I'd be able to locate some public domain ones?

Flash doesnt have any midi controller in it, so its impossible for it to talk to your keyboard. Also, Flash is touchy about doing anything to any devices unless it fully supports it, and so far, that is limited to mostly webcam, microphone, and printer.

I think it's just a japenese man wailing/singing followed by a hollow block of wood being hit by another piece of wood.

I've never seen them post here because the BBS really isn't my thing. I'm not one of the big treasured 'regulars' here that everyone loves and makes tributes about. I have nothing to do with this board except for the fact that I enjoy talking to people and seeing what they're all about considering I've been at flash for a while now.

have you ever heard of an A-life system? like the choas in sonic adventure, or the chocobos in final fantasy? well basically its like that but instead of getting items for them in the same game, you get them when you do good in other games. like if you get a highscore in someone else's game you get points in this game that you use to buy things for your A-life creature and make him coolerand better. and they grow, get old, mate, and lay eggs, fight with other people things.
