At first, I did. I said thanks and went on doing what I was doing. Then another girl followed her lead and said teh same thing, then asked if it was my birthday...and I was like...no, its Saturday...

The weird part is how the girl wouldn't believe me, she even wished me happy birthday again a minute later.

It's pretty simple, there are no real regulations for what can be on the internet right? Like wade said, it's not against the law, freedom of speech.

Yeah I know, but ethically? It's a pretty sick concept, but that doesn't come to mind and stop you rfrom playing it, it just comes across as a fun game. why?

No one is there to see you. People do sick things when no one is watching. People murder, people rape. If there are no consequences, its just meaningless fun.

yeah Coaly that sounded pretty bad.. theres nothing wrong with the game if it has no meaning for you, i mean for people like us to play the game its harmless fun but if some Palestinian dude was playing and enjoying it a little too much then thats pretty messed up... its all about who is playing it and what their concept of reality is

Um thats a fucked up comment. I have palestinian friends and they've never tried to blow me up contrary to what some think... 'people like us' suggests that they are built differently and they arent believe it or not...

you cant judge a whole mass of people based on the actions of extremist assholes sprinkled into that culture.

In regards to Mogly's question... I dont really have a problem with 'sick' games... I think that some people make these sort of games because their tolerance level of what might be considered gross or deeply disturbing is high... I dunno some people can just see it for its entertainment value of wasting a couple hours on mindless shit. Naturally theres gonna be some people that blur reality and entertainment and thats where shit goes sour.

Speaking of mindless violence Manhunt 2 is coming this summer for those who care!!! I'm creaming my pants waiting.

Uh, Freedom of Expression? Why should you complain, there have never been a case that of suicide bombing related to flash gaming and/or other forms of entertainment. It's just a little fun. All terrorist attacks are done through complex organisations with absolute utter dedication. A simple flash game about suicide bombing people is great cause it truly shows how we as a democracy (by "we", I mean the western world in general) can tolerate and express all forms of entertainment, no matter how distasteful they are.

You shouldn't have a problem with it.

At 2/16/07 12:52 AM, Mogly wrote: Le Question for you..

The other day in college, I was mindlessly reading this interview with Tom Fulp.

If you scroll down to the section about the Suicide bomber game and how it got into trouble.. if you were the author of this game, HOW would you justify it? It's a pretty evil game when you think about it. You have to blow people up.. it sounds tasteless, not-fun etc etc etc.

But yeah, how would you justify making this & how it's acceptable, even fun?

If it's just to shock people, I think it's a bit bastard-ish. But if you're trying to provoke people for a reason, I think a sick game is perfectly entitled. If you're making a game where you kill Britney Spears baby in full gore because you know the media will pick up on it and that makes you cream your pants, then you're a bastard. If you're trying to direct people's attention to a problem, like say you make a game where you can play as the Janjaweed in Darfur and slaughter innocent non-Muslims, and you get messages like "Don't worry, the international community cares just as little as you do about the well-being of a bunch of n*ggers". That game would have its merits as it hopefully would provoke people to find out about the Darfur conflict...

In response to the Ka-boom game, I would have liked to make a game where you're playing as Israeli military and you shoot kids who get to close to The Wall...

See, unlike Kaboom, I think that's one game which was just entirely unnecessary and wrong. It was just attention whoring, completely pointless.

Yeah I agree with you. And also about not liking the Tsunami game. Tasteless, fair enough. But the author being desperate for it? That's what made it a bit sickening.

What I was getting at, is, say if the FBI had you, sat you down in a dark room and questioned you on WHY you would of made a game like that, what would you answer? There's no real reason.. why is that that makes a fun game? because it is fun definetly, but why?

BTW, I actually like this game. I'm just asking to get the general impression as how you could justify it.

AS wars
I posted this a few pages back, but this thread moves so damn quick! :P
So, I'm making an engine similar to the one jmtb had for his AS: wars, and I'm wondering if there's any interest in participating in another AS: war? :D
Also, ideas please ;)

I'd be interested but I havent got any ideas, but try to make it fairly different to the last one otherwise people would be more incline to just use their old bots.

How about a shield that's like a sector of a circle which you can spin round, so if theres a bullet coming to you at 80 degrees, you could point your shield at 80 degrees and block it.

Also, how about you can dig under ground and move around underground without being seen.

Effectively all this does is make you dissapear for a while so you can move around without being shot and without shooting people (although you can't see where everyone else is either).

And there should be a limit to how long you can stay underground, so people like kartman don't just stay underground the whole time.

Since no one seems to be using the titles anymore, i can't be arsed to :D. Anyway, sounds great Clax, it'd be nice to have more features that in Johns, but don't add to many or it'll just get complicated and turn into a 2 week project :(.

Anyway, it'd be nice to see another one, Jmtbs kind of died :(.

Possible stolen Flash...

Now, I'm a very trusting individual. I usually never accuse anyone until irrefutable evidence is apparent.

However in this case, it is almost obvious this flash is stolen.

Possible stolen flash

Now let's look at the facts of the possible facts that it may be stolen and possible explanations

1:User Sign up date

This flash was submitted by GorillaMask , the supposed owner of GorillaMask.net . He signed up yesterday (it's the 17th here in Aus, but it's 1am so I assume it's still the 16th where you lot are)

2: #5 in a flash series
As you can see, there are many more flashes to the series . The site I linked too didn't create the flashes, but after googling I've concluded that Threshold studios created the series.

3: Swf file errors

On the actual NG file, there are a variety of errors on the flash file itself.
These errors include
*Incorrect swf file preportions, there's a noticable gap in the files width by a few pixels.
- A lack of replay button. Though perhaps the series doesn't contain a replay button, the sudden abrupt stop to the flash made a strong case for it to be stolen.

Now I'm the the accusing type, but when the evidence stacks on like this it's hard not to take notice.

Who should I e-mail or PM to notify my concerns to, such as an Administrator of some sorts perhaps?

<3 game-ads
I don't know if anyone noticed, but there seem to be more and more of those game ads out there. You know, those ads where you have to 'punch saddam', 'save the drowning man' etc and when you click it (obviously) it goes to the respective site. What I love in those ads is that it doesn't ONLY go to the site, if you 'click the drowning man' first it saves him and then goes to the site. Now the cool thing about it, is that with my uber pop up blocker I can freely click and play those ad games without any pop ups ^^ it's fun.
