What's it like working with a laptop and a monitor? I've always worked on a laptop until this past summer when I got a desktop. My laptop is still fine though so I've considered just using that as a second monitor. Although....thinking about it now...I should actually check what type of connectors I have on it as well as those on the back of my monitor.
It's all I've ever known. My monitor is bigger than my laptop screen, so it's my default one. At home, we have two equallyish sized monitors, and it's pretty confusing which one should be the main one. It's also incredibly difficult to go back to one monitor when I'm away just with the laptop.
I never understood the "I don't have anything to hide so I don't care" argument. It seems incredibly short-sighted to me personally. But I think a majority of people in the united states feel this way more or less.
There was something on twitter about someone from some country where it happens where the government started caring about what people were posting and all that. They said selecting Going on the event page of a political rally on facebook counted as light treason and would have the government watching you (in real life, not just digitally). They started harassing the person's parents and said they would be fired if the person didn't give himself up. You could be executed, etc.
I don't care too much about it right now, but things can change to where it becomes a huge issue. Once Edge gets extensions and ad block, I'll feel better :) I also convinced my parents to look into a 1Password license for us all, mainly because it was the only one I was exposed to through twitter as opposed to LastPass. My current passwords are solid, but it won't hurt to do more. My parents' passwords are awful, though. I've also looked into 2FA and physical security (I got a github yubikey since Taylor Swift told me to), but 2FA is a fucking pain when it comes to services that you connect to frequently, like my uni wifi or even the email client.
Edit: paypal, steam, and the like will only text me if the computer or location is unrecognized. Uni's system according to my friend texts every single time.
