There should be a way to win..and if not, give some kind of reward for hitting the enemy tank. Cuz if damaging does nothing then there's no point to shoot really..cept for that one medal?

Hitting the enemy tank brings its speed down :) Just added it to the author's comment.

And yeah if I wanted to stay true to the original animation there should of course be a way to win, but you know -- take it for what it is ;)

That's cool, I'm all down for distance games and what not. Just didn't get the shooting thing. That works then :D

What makes you say that? All of them are essentially the same game. Same weapons, same physics (except double jump), same game modes. The only difference is the maps.

Citric: i added you. everyone sucks terribly at first, it just takes a really long time to learn the game. I played like 15-20 custom games against AI's just to learn the units, abilities, and builds before I even played my first placement match. At the end of the day you'll see that starcraft is not about being a genius tactician like Ender, but simply knowing to manage your production; micro'ing your units isn't even that important if you at least know how to macro. You can become a great starcraft player only by practicing and doing the most standard and expected builds.

Err... That's my point. The other games added nothing new aside from useless vehicle combat and the first was the most fun to play in my opinion.

The thing I don't like about the new games is the over-the-top, Gears-of-War-esque characters, as well as the vehicles. The games are still pretty fun to play, but I enjoyed UT99 the best out of all of them.

I'd have to say that UT3 is my second favorite. It seems to be more of a return to the first game.

Also, does anyone remember Unreal Gold?

stop saying "remember"

you were like 3 years old when those games came out

UT99 is probably one of the first games I ever played besides rayman and lomax

I was like five years old when I played the Unreal games, the first games I ever experienced. I played the entirety of each of those games back then, and you have no right to say I don't remember them.

Ad Revenue?
I saw that the NG ad system shares revenue gained from ads equally between authors, so any co-authors will automatically be credited? Is this true?

No, the person who submits the flash chooses how to divide the earnings up.

ok then thanks, thought it would be cool, especially for collabs, so users get a little extra in their NG wallet, may entice more people to join up.

Mis Primeros Videojuegos

UT 99 was probably the first pc game I played religiously. RPG Maker, I think I got before that, and I got Starcraft around the same time. My first games were Super Mario World and Starfox on SNES followed by Link's awakening on Game Boy and Startropics and Legacy of the Wizard on NES (grandma had an NES).

I never could play online with Unreal, I donno why, but I do remember hogging the phone line with dial-up for hours on end playing Starcraft

That's awesome. You're actually the only person I know that I know played starcraft. Were you any good at it? What about sc2? I don't know if the fact that you live in the US makes a difference (probably only if we were to play league games?), but if you're up for it im looking for a practice buddy. There's not gonna be any time left in the beta, but add me anyway and I'll play with you on the 27th.

I was preteen when I played starcraft before I started playing warcraft 3, so I wasn't THAT good. I remember playing mostly zero clutter and fastest map possible maps because I wasn't good at macro and couldn't expand etc. Having huge ridiculous bases got addicting and so did the carrier rushes haha. I occasionally played normal games and I was alright.

Yeah sure I'll add you. I'm alright for not having played the game more than a month. And you're right about the standard builds. I'm pretty sure as long as you keep up to date on the latest pro replays, you can be decent at RTS's.

The first game I played was Mega Bomberman on the Sega. The first computer game I played would probably have to be Speedy Eggbert.

I.. Played... the SHIT out of SC1. Mostly on Dial up, then made the transition and was one of the first people in the area to have CableOMG!

For probably 3 years straight, it was SC, D2, Rogue Spear and whatever Heroes of Might and Magic was popular then (2-3 I think) from dusk til dawn.

Stereomood is really good too but some playlists are too long, 1389 in melancholy for example. Would be awesome if you could open the playlists in spotify.

Also xvideos > pornhub

STUPID BUGS

Got a corn fly in my monitor (stupid countryside) and to try and coerce it out, i turned off monitor and shone a light down into monitor from above.

After a few minutes i started smelling something a bit weird, and when i checked the plastic grill at top of monitor had started warping with the heat from lamp.

Obviously i immediately moved light away, then starting blowing and got a damp cold cloth to cool it, and thankfuly no plastic dripped though my right hand side monitor isn't quite so flat at the top anymore now.

On the plus side; the bug is gone :)

This simulation, as far as I can tell; will never stop. I simulated it at 1000x speed and went about 2 weeks into the simulation and it was still going without the balls stopping :P

Oh good. I'll add some ridiculously complex ramps into the pinball field designs then...

The main disadvantage will be that your source code would be fully available in the page source, would that put you off switching or will you switch regardless?

this all assumes HTML5 becomes as powerful...

The whole "source code available to anyone" issue will be a real problem when you're trying to sell your game. No sponsor is going to buy your source files if they can easily get them, and it will greatly lower the values of games, if any game can just be ripped and cloned extremely easily.

I would make the switch only if there's a bigger market for it.

You wouldn't write stuff in JS directly. Instead you use it as a compilation target. You can also compress/obfuscate JS.

Ah yea, the london meet has sorta morphed into a multi-day affair, mainly due to the fact that most everyone is from out of town (some from way farther). I try not to overhype the other events too much because cramming 50 people into any establishment is a chore. But if youre around on other days, chances are other people are as well, and in fact the non-meetup days are arguably better than the meet day itself when its a mass load of people.
