Did you see the trailer for The last guardian? (The new game from the company that made ico and shadow of the colossus) It looks CRAZY, and i don't even understand it.

I just know the games gonna end with the pet thing dying though...Its gonna be the saddest part in videogame history

Don't dare tell him about dir (or ls for our unix friends).

Also, people probably have seen this already, but www.google.com/squared is awesome.

Indeed. SOTC is one of my favorite games ever. My expectations are high for this new game.

exactly. when the wide layout was shown on the regular pages instead of on the flash pages, there were two new portal buttons.

also they took down the art portal. my guess is that they're gonna release it again as well as the lit portal when they finally work out all the bugs in the wide layout.

Am I the only one too impatient to play sneaky sneaky games like MGS? Something about hiding behind a corner for 60 seconds to get around a guy makes me yearn for something else.

I see what you mean, and when I was younger I used to just go in all guns blazing, but I don't know.. it feels action-y to sneak around in MGS4 =D Though I do also go in all guns blazing still, but with tranq guns so it don't count.

Metal Gear Solid 3 is the best game of the last generation. In my opinion MGS4 doesn't even get close to number 3, I hate what they did to Metal Gear in the fourth game.

yea whenever the alarm was raised, i'd just go into a really sneaky hide spot and then go do something else for the five minutes that it took for everything to go away.

first there's alert that takes 30 seconds to go away.
then there's alarm that takes 60 seconds to go away.
then there's caution that takes three minutes to go away.

His "Zero Punctuation" movies are some of the funniest and best reviews on the net, never knew he had made games himself.

I agree gameplay wise, i think there was about 4 sections where stealth applied, the rest was too run and gun for MGS, good run and gun nonetheless. The story lived up to what i expected though and satisfied any questions i had. The end few minutes were particularly amazing for veterans.

Looks good, but i'm not sure how they are going to use such a large animal in a small enviroment. SotC worked because there were vast landscapes to roam and explore, this might feel a bit confined.

I keep bitching about this :p The last few scenes of MGS4 were amazing, but it didn't really have a climax gameplay-wise. Gameplay pretty much ended at the last B&B boss. It could have been so much bigger - I mean, it had loads of awesome themes about old age and nostalgia which didn't really get utilised at all, not to mention a load of great environments which you could just bascally run or crawl through regardless of what the terrain was.

Playing for no alerts or kills is still satisfying as all hell, though.

in terms of gameplay and not movie, the last boss was effing AMAZING, just how the lifebars ran through the entire MG saga and everything, it was orgasmic XD

Unless you're implying the "last level" in general, it kinda brought me back to shadow moses, not a huge terrain thing but rather in a building and you have to navigate and what not.

Oh i wouldn't worry about the environment size. I know from shots it seems that your always inside sorta thing, but i really think it will be almost a mix of Ico and SotC, massive environment landscapes, but instead of plains and forests, i think there will be like those ruins and cities all around as well.

Either way, i have faith in how it will work, just because this company has brought nothing but A++ titles in the past :D

why the hell are web development books so friggin expensive? i was trying to find an all-in-one book but those cost like 70 bucks and up. so then i try looking for one that focuses on CSS, and the cheapest one there was not only thin and crappy, it was also STILL out of my price range.

why can't there be cheap CSS books?

Why use books? There is a wealth of information out there on the internet just waiting to be discovered.

You don't need books to learn CSS.

Web Development books are expensive because the entirity of the web development market is a self perpetuating monolith that likes to show that it's big and expensive in every way possible*.

Soon as the common man on the street realises you can develop a decent websites with ten minutes of work, no special tools and W3Schools, this entire industry is FUCKED. And I'll be out of a job.

*See also, all jobs that pretend to require mastery, but just require familiarity, to get by on a day to day basis.

no but i prefer books cuz i can read them before i go to bed and while at school and stuff.

if i go on the internet to try and learn it, i get distracted. mainly by newgrounds. and then i stop learning.

Flash is even more up it's own ass with it's ease/time consumingness than CSS is. :)

It takes more time to open the door for the delivery man and get the book out of its package than learn web scripting.

We have the same thoughts here, only that I don't like my mother, and I mean, beyond the typical "Oh, my mum said I can't play my Wiistation360, she's a bitch!". I literally can't even speak to her, not even on Mother's day. All parents overreact to small things.

I was almost certain they'd cut out the word 'Portal'
in the Flash and Audio portal menu buttons.
But wow, they just cut edges.
