wats up newgrounders? ive got some questions. first up, me and a buddy are making a movie, not animated mostly exept for a few bits, i need to know if you can put the movie and shit together on movie maker, and then import it to flash to add credits. if so can anyone get me in contact with someone who can? im really pretty bad at flash right now because im just starting and i need someone to make the credits, well email you the pics we need put into it, and talk about how we want it done from there. that is, if someone is willing to do it.

you may wan to create a new thread if you are beggin for help, and also it is possible to import into flash as video format. it may be easier to make the credits in flash and export that as a moive file into WMM. Your choice.

So I'm watching south park on a channel other than comedy central, it's 12:30 AM here. It's the episode about walmart. And there's a scene where the manager hangs himself then sprays shit all over the wall. Instead of showing him crapping his pants, for about 2/3 of a second a black screen goes up with the text "The manager craps his pants" while still playing the fart sound, then it goes back and shows the manager there, with crap on the wall.

Its been done a few times to South Park as far as I remember. One day they're going to get annoyed with it and write an entire episode that constantly cuts to black with ever more extreme reasons for censorship while the boys go out to investigate why its happening.

But what do I care? Paramount Comedy 1's getting renamed here back to Comedy Central, and with it it's shifting from a basic channel on my current cable package to a premium one, and therefore I won't be able to watch new episodes without paying an extra surcharge. So I'll have to wait until another channel picks up new episodes or watch them on MTV.

okay so is the game editor working with full on geometric shapes, or only with triangles and squares. i know you can achieve any shape with those two but it would get pretty damn annoying making some of the more complicated ones (ie an octagon)

also, one of the directions in the editor said you had to right click to do something. i forget what the function was (i think it was select) but how are you gonna achieve a right click function with flash?

sorta. i dunno i didnt ban anyone anyway, i just got tired of the unnecessary attention. I was thinking about it on my flight back and how i take alot of pride in mixing in with the regular userbase. The question is why would I want to streamline making octagons? Part of the advantage in making your own editor is you make shortcuts and hotkeys that are streamlined for what I need it to do, which is make levels. It's not exactly hard to do an octagon in this either, draw 2 rectangles in a + formation then fill the sides with triangles, it would be about 10 seconds of work. I have no intention for this to be a professional quality drawing program, it is just a level editor.

It's not flash, it's coded from scratch in c++ with opengl

as long as your GPU supports shaders you'll be fine, you can tone down the resolution and special effects in the config file

I left my laptop at my friends for 2 days and I missed so many pages >_> I won't bother scanning through and commenting, I can't really be arsed (I was going to, but realised it would take me too long).

I will say this though, probably a really old conversation now but still, I'm sorta-pro-piracy. I do pirate some things, but it's mainly TV shows, that if I didn't pirate/stream I'd have to wait 2 years to see over here in the UK or on DVD, and that's just silly :P Music I don't pirate, I use Spotify and all the music on my iPod is bought/copied from friends (I know that's not legal but I don't care) and films I rarely pirate and that's usually to decide whether it's worth getting on DVD/to see at the cinema (I love going to the cinema and I have a very good DVD/blu-ray collection). Games I don't pirate, I have a PS3 and my laptop can't play games really.. though the few games I do have (TF2, CS:S.. few others) I bought. I think piracy is given such a bad rep when really it opens up markets. I'd never go and see/purchase some films if I hadn't watched them beforehand, for example No Country For Old Men I downloaded and then went to see at the cinema + bought on blu-ray.. so I guess I'm the good sort of pirate :P I can't afford to buy tonnes of music (not really a problem thanks to Spotify) or buy loads of DVDs, but I buy what I can and what deserves to be bought :)
