Been debating making a thread like this for a long time, but i think that it may be a good idea and it may serve as a catch-all for all the debates and things that can benefit from personal opinions on matters.
Welcome Flash nerds!
Luis this is an excellent idea! I just hope it lasts for a while before you end up locking it :(
GL to everyone in this glorious and holy place!

Killzone 2 is love!

Have you been making that since you uploaded your current signature? I remember seeing it back last summer, though I didn't think that it was related to a Flash WIP. Good luck with finishing it off and ironing out those vCam bugs that you mentioned.

make it so its more obvious when you get hit.
Not bad though, the upgrades dont really seem too balanced. Rocket launcher was useless (why no area of effect for it?)

Looks fabulous, my only crit, as glaiel pointed out, is that you don't really get knocked backward or show much of an animation when you get hit, that would go a long way to making the experience more visceral.
Yeah Ive done a bootiful explosion for the rocket launcher which hasnt gone in yet... that should fix the hit area.
Ill see what I can do about a hit animation, although if you stop shooting when you get hurt itll make the later levels very hard...
Cheers for the positive comments though guys :)
Yeah there's a fairly steep learning curve on it. I tested it but didn't think the rocket launcher was that bad.

Wow that turned out WAY better than I thought it would. The coding is pretty phenomenal and the game is really fluid. The animations are nice too, but the coding just outshines it in so many ways.

Yeah as I said LongAnimals is amazing. Hes been making games for 25 years but has only recently started using flash... kinda like an adam philips of the coding world :P
And I agree about the art. A lot of it is a year and a half old and pretty sketchy... Our next game will feature 100% improved visuals, I promise!
Fail
I just had to reformat my computer because somehow my internet stuff got messed up and couldn't be fixed by Midco nor Knology. Somethin with the DNS options or something like that.

You reformatted to just to repair your network configuration? Fail indeed.

Haha yup. Shows how good with computers I am, right?

wait THAT was the problem? You were on msn with your phone with ME and you didn't think to say "hey how do i fix dns problems" like im a master of that stuff!!!
*proceeds in loling at you*
I mean, it's an acceptable approach for ..fixing things in Windows. But silly. Cause it'd be less trouble to configure Linux (for liiife) than formatting to repair Windows.
fail
I spilt a pint of Ribena on my laptop keyboard last night. Fucking win!
Still works though after leaving it to dry last night!

And it's even less trouble to open up a mac and plug it in.

I agree with glaiel - macs ftw.
.

The Mac for which he'd have to trade five PCs (with better hardware), to get a computer with network hardware *designed* for OSX to not fuck up over, to get any use out of which he'd have to run Debian?
It's a good idea, but I think it's more practical to reformat Windows twice a day. :p

Why bother? You could trade in 4, use the cash to upgrade the first and run Mac off it.
Now where to find 5 decent PC's? ^^
Okay, who dragged the Mac vs. PC argument in here?
Hi there!

Well Gust mentioned Windows, and then Glaiel mentioned Mac.
Its not much of an argument ;D

You have to run it through Wine first :P

I wish there was a way to not show those on the userpage, but oh well.
When are they letting other people put medals in their games like you guys did?

I am really waiting for a way to allow any other author to add medals...

Haha.
Wade is a pain in the ass to beat in that game :P
I see the medals but they have broken my page :(
its a nice stack of medal images and all my content is placed at the footer, overlapping themselves haha

haha, your userpage is broke now, that really is harshly unlucky...
They're updating the medals feature on the fly.
So this just means it's being worked on right now on the website.
Not 100% sure why its not on some staging server before but oh well.
I can stand to not look at my user page for a little while :D
