Seeing as I've forgotten a lot and I knew quite little anyway in as3, I thought I'd aim for 'milestones' in terms of what I could be able to code, for example:

1. Simple mathematical for loop, perhaps a triangle number maker or Pythagoras triplet maker
2. Creating a movieclip with certain aesthetical aspects solely with code.
3. A bouncing ball with gravity.etc
4. A controllable bouncing ball with physics (keyboard keys)
... Huge gap of knowledge here...

I'd say since it's really a different age already you should instead learn how to plug together various engines instead of messing with balls hittests and how to organize code with OOP. Make a 3d racing engine draft instead of priding on a ball spazzing over brush strokes in an attempt of a platformer.

I'm pretty sure we'll get tommorow off, i hope anyway.

We only have minimal amounts of snow here, so no schools are closed. I go to "university college" though, I'm only there like 2-3 times a week and that's for lectures in database structure or web design.. So I think I'll live :)

It has been confirmed, I'll be having another full day off tomorrow. Today I spent my entire day here on Newgrounds, but I might go for a long walk tomorrow, I used to take a two-hour walk every single day after I got home from school, and I want to start something similar to that up again, even if it's only for half an hour.

High five through the intertubes for the snow day! Had possibly the best day imaginable. Day off (same tomorrow), and pissed about in the park for the entire day, went tobogganing and froze my toes off. Left my house at 7 30, got back at 4ish, didn't sit down all day, and the park is 4 miles from my house in a foot and a half deep snow.

And then same for tomorrow :D

With most of those things, if you can perform them in one language, it's just a simple syntax change to learn in another. I generally focus on the specifics, rather than the math. In most languages, an array is an array, and a loop or conditional statement works the same way.

I would focus on the language specifics. If the case is AS3.0, I would try code based animation several different ways (ENTER_FRAME, TIMER... ect..)

Press cntrl-enter twice. Then to change the speed you want go view (on the actual swf window), then download options and select the speed.
