I tried making a automatic ddr like that as well, but computeSpectrum() (which I assume you're using) is a bastard to figure out beats with. In the end it came up with a pretty shitty game combined with the fact that NG was paranoid about letting mp3 files being read by flash D: ADVICE: always test it online on a server that has sandbox autism.

I'm working on a game! Wow. I was kinda wanting to make a game but couldn't think of an idea, then my mate was showing me some of his c++ stuff and one of them he had hardly worked on but the idea was so simple yet seemed so fun so I asked if I could use it. It should be really simple, and I probably have someone to do the art already who I know IRL so all seems fine. I'm sure I'll be able to finish this because it is a very simple game but quite a unique concept too. I've got the main engine done already, just need to tweak it and add some character to the game. Watch this space.. (for messages of sadness, I predict).

@Mogly, if you want to use my server for images let me know I'll set up an ftp account.. and anyone else who wants to host anything important I guess let me know.

I made a small town for a game I'm working on along side my other game. It's supposed to be like an FF7 style view and I was wondering if the graphics were at least decent. It's also kind of a joke game making fun of the fact that all RPG story lines are pretty similar along with the gameplay. Comments, criticism (I can take it)?

And remember, I'm not exactly the best artist either.

I find that having a solid game idea is always the best approach to making games. Ditch trying to make the artwork (because it's apparent you're not gonna get very far) and work on your programming. A solid story and a great engine is bound to attract an artist eventually. Planning all the sprites you're going to need would be an additional incentive.

As everyone here knows, me and Kirk have a love/hate relationship. We're great buddies and will actually finish this game we're working on by April, but we do like to show each other up on here. Naturally, he does it by generally being a much better mod than me.

But I have the advantage of a camera, teetotallity, and Kirk just can't say no to alcohol.
