Am I The Only One?
No one ever gives me math problems, so apart from actionscript (which is technically, in some sense, math) I don't do much math. In school we have like 4 hours of math lessons per week, but it sucks donkey balls. I normally say that my classes are stupid and don't understand shit in math, except last year I admit there was someone who was actually pretty good. He was one of those people who would always get excellent grades at math tests because he probably spends a lot of time at home studying and doing the exercises from our math book, but when you ask him a question that has no relation with what we study in class, and requires some more thinking, he just can't do it. This year though, it's a complete catastrophy. I am probably in the worst class math-wise (and socially too, for example they epicly fail at humor (which I might discuss another day)) in the entire school.
Anyway, went a little off subject there. I usually do enjoy doing math to some extent, as long as there is something interesting about it, or anything else in some way related to logic. For example I enjoy trying to come up with answers for logic riddles that I find on google, and then see if my friends can do it. In math lessons I spend most of the time doing things like trying to trace cool images on my graphics calculator (my last one was a plane, i also did a tree and a building), and trying to solve exercises from my brother's math book which is 3 years above me. I was surprised at how easy those exercises were considering I'll have 3 more years until I actually need to do them, but there's a lot of them that I couldn't do due to vocabulary problems. For example, if there is an exercise that doesn't use any terms that I don't know, but requires some wise logic, I could probably do it. But a lot of times there's words like logarithm, exponential, etc. Maybe I should start wiki'ing that shit.
vocabulary is also a problem I have in this school year. I have to admit I never do any of the stuff we do in class, and I never do my math homework (a lot of people say it to boast, but I realise it is just a thing that shows your stupidity) but still I get close to the highest grades in my class. The areas that fail me into getting perfect grades are questions where you need to read the entire lesson and know all the vocabulary.
